The girl sat pensively on a park bench, there was nothing she did but to be silent and stare straight ahead. I don't know what she had in mind, which was obviously the girl her mind and body were in a different world.
Rayhan walked closer, the clearer the picture of the girl in his vision.
Kayla, the veiled girl who is often called the Ninja was pensive in the park chair. Her usual beautiful eyes were always emitting bright twinkle, it had been a week looking dim like there was no spirit of life.
Rayhan hated seeing those beautiful eyes but radiating sadness, it had been a week that he had not seen the beautiful twinkle in Kayla's eyes. Rayhan recalls clearly, during the funeral of Mr. Wijaya. The girl just stood in silence, there was no crying. No tears, either it's over or it can't come out again.
Throughout the funeral procession, Rayhan saw the girl glued to her blank stare. There was no sound coming out, no tears flowing, no aura of life from the girl.
"Don't arrest!."
Kayla was surprised to hear that voice, she turned her head to the side. Rayhan was already sitting by his side. "Don't be held back if you're sad, don't bear it yourself." Rayhan said again, looking at the girl whose heart was holding back the grief.
"Gue knows how big your burden is, and I'm sure you can deal with it. But being strong does not mean you should not cry and complain, occasionally in life there is time we shed the burden. And crying may be one way."
Kayla was silent, unable to answer. Rayhan is right, being strong does not mean we should not cry. Already this week, the tears that always wanted to come out were as strong as he could bear.
"I don't know how I feel, I don't know how it feels." I looked at the girl while looking down. There were no tears, only the sound of heavy breathing that Rayhan could hear.
"Gue doesn't have to be lo, and I don't have to experience what you're going through to understand how you feel. Because I even lost my papa figure long before you."
Rayhan did not need to experience what happened to Kayla to understand how the girl felt, enough for him since childhood did not get the affection of the father to feel lost.
"Nangis not papa ninja, you have to be strong but you can't be hypocritical!" Inwardly, Rayhan wanted to hug the girl and give her the calmness she used to do when Kayla was slumped in grief. But things were already different, it was impossible for Rayhan to do such a thing now.
Rayhan put his gaze up, trying to vent the tightness that filled his chest.
"I'm not papa!" Kayla Pungkas. Glanced at Rayhan at a glance, then looked down deeply again.
"Don't lie!" Desperate Rayhan. Making Kayla look up again, the girl tried to smile even though Rayhan could not see her smile.
"Yeah." Rayhan let out a long bellow, not understanding how else to calm this girl down.
"Gue can't continue to understand your situation, so please don't just smile and say no. If you are sad, if it hurts, it hurts. I ask you to show all your feelings. I am not the All-Hearing, All-Knowing God. Always understand every heart and feeling."
Kayla chuckles at Rayhan's poetic speech, indeed since when can the man say sweet like this.
But moments later, tears began to flood the girl's face. He lost, was unable to be hypocritical as Rayhan said.
"I miss papa." Then she shriveled later. Rayhan was relieved, at the end of his life the girl spilled the burden on his heart.
"Why do you keep me brother?! Is papa still angry? Maybe he's angry because I can't keep an appointment for papa. It's all my fault. If I can keep my promise, papa won't go."
"It's not wrong. You believe in destiny, right?" Ask Rayhan. The girl nodded.
"All this is God's destiny, you break the promise or not destiny still can not be changed ninja. You should be grateful, you still have time to see papa lo at the last moment right?"
"But Kayla remains a sin, sister, Kayla can not keep the trust. Kayla didn't keep her promise." Kayla said as she cried.
Rayhan raised his hand, wanting to wipe away the girl's tears. But that intention he paused, considering who Kayla was at the moment.
"Well, that's if I don't know. I'm not God, haha." He said while laughing. Makes Kayla not want to smile.
"What promise do you make?" Rayhan asked then, actually since he was curious because Kayla kept discussing the promise.
"Kayla will promise papa, Kayla must go abroad to continue her education until S2 finishes. And if Kayla wants to, papa also wants to bless Ian's relationship with Vio." Kayla replied spontaneously, unaware of what she had just said.
So this is the reason?! Mumbled. Rayhan finally understood the reason for the girl's departure. It turned out to be all just for Ian and Viona.
Rayhan let out a sigh, his wound reopening. If this is the reason why Kayla is not telling the truth. Why Kayla had to choose such a complicated path, by going without saying goodbye.
"So this is why you left?" Rayhan asked in the end, making Kayla gasp in shock.
Astagfirullah. Kayla said what did God say?
"What do you mean, brother?" Kayla doesn't understand Rayhan's question. I don't know what he said until Rayhan could ask that.
"So 'cause Ian's the same Viona you go stayin me?!" Rayhan asked again, this time his voice sounded cold. Not as warm as before.
"Sister.." Lirih Kayla, the girl was stunned. How could he even reveal his own promise that he had been hiding from anyone.
"That's what I mean."
"OKAY. I missed your departure 4 years ago, it was for Ian the same Viona. But can't you be honest with me, not really saying goodbye before leaving. Have you ever thought about my feelings, just a little bit?!"
The man got up, then stood in front of Kayla. His sharp eyes unsheathed, making Kayla shudder in horror.
"Do I really mean nothing to you, and you don't have any feelings for me. You're dating me just because I'm the same girl, aren't you?!" Rayhan started to get emotional, she felt the need to spill the weight of her heart on Kayla.
The girl came back crying, this time as unwilling as she lowered her head. Not only because suffering still enveloped him, but also because of Rayhan's words that made his guilt deeper.
"Don't cry!" Rayhan's tone of voice returned low, he realized that it was not the right time to debate the girl.
Rayhan left, leaving Kayla who was getting late in her weeping of pain.
"This is for you!" Rayhan's back, out of nowhere. But now there was a puppet in his hand.
Kayla frowned in wonder, what a child she was. Can crying be calmed by playing with dolls?
"It." Proposing, when Kayla never reached for the doll.
"So I want to hug you straight away, only I'm afraid of sin. So if you're sad to hug the doll, think of Rayhan as a lifeless handsome." Rayhan chuckled while putting the doll on Kayla's lap.
The girl laughed, then tightly hugged the doll. As Rayhan suggested.
"Don't laugh at it, I like not to take it."
Kayla immediately turned her head, staring intently at Rayhan. "No, hold on to what?" Ask with probing eyes.
"I can't stand pinching your nose!" Rayhan replied avertedly, completely unable to bear to pinch the nose of a long-time pet he did not see.
Kayla reflex closes her nose with her palm. Rayhan chuckled amusedly, indeed what else the girl wanted to close. The nose is covered with a veil, for what is covered again.
"Don't hold your feelings anymore, you still have a place to share. Since I'm still here, I've never left." Rayhan stood back before Kayla, as quickly as lightning pulled the nose of the girl who was staring in amazement at the pink doll.
Rayhan pulled the nose covered with a veil to the right and left.
His beloved nose that he always pinched with anxiety first. Then ran away leaving Kayla who was already screaming in annoyance.
"Astagfirullah. Brother Ray don't do it!" Shouted the girl with regret. Rayhan laughed as he left Kayla.
