TUMBAL SEVENTH

TUMBAL SEVENTH
Sesajen Behind School

In school I became unfocused in following lessons, thinking of last night. About the offerings under Tania's bed. Who did it, and what was the purpose?

Occasionally kneading the forehead feels dizzy, after his brain I forced to think hard.

“Yes Lord!” pekikku, when he woke up from the daydream, and looked at the blackboard. However, his writing had already been deleted by Master Ma'am. While I haven't finished taking notes, just got a paragraph.

Patting the eel, rubbing the face like a berdo’a. Matching the forehead that I think is getting dizzy immeasurably.

“Why, Ran?” ask the Teacher. I silently stared straight at the direction Master Ma was in, glanced left and right, pursed my lips, then shook my head slowly.

“Eng-nothing, Bu.” Stuttered. Then looked down, embarrassed, because it became the center of attention of classmates.

“Yakin?” Again, Madam Master asked in an emphasis-filled tone. I nodded while grinning.

It seems that Master Teacher is not sure of my answer. He walked towards where I was sitting. I covered my face with my palms. “Dead me,” mumbled.

In my heart, I am sure it will be caught yet to write the lesson presented by him. Fix, will receive punishment today. Go around the field, clean the toilet or ....

“Bu, this part means what, yes?”

I exhaled, a little relieved as one of the students asked and stopped Master Teacher's footsteps.  Until he stopped me at my place. I was confused, racking my brain in search of the right reason. After trying to borrow from friends on the front and side benches, but no one wants to lend. Wiz.

Glancing towards Tirta was, but I didn't have enough courage to borrow him. Besides, I'm not sure he's willing to lend me. After all, there was no way I could finish taking notes even if he wanted to lend me his notebook.

Now I have only one choice. Resignedly. Then accept punishment.

Tirta quickly pulled out my book whose notes had not been half that, and put it in front of her. Then the book whose notes were finished was placed in front of me. I was silent, frowning. Baffled.

Haven't had time to ask why he did this, Master Ma'am has already arrived beside my seat.

“Why Ran? Is there anything you don't understand?” ask the Teacher. I was confused, wondering what to answer.

Glancing at the direction Tirta was in, he sat up flinching his eyes looking at the pen he was playing in his hand. As if nothing happened. Flat expression.

The attention of the Master was focused on the book in front of Tirta. His hand stalling across my face, he picked up the book that was actually mine.

I closed my eyes, my heart beating erratically.

“Tirta, what the hell is this? Why haven't you finished your record? Though the one on the blackboard I have removed loh!”

I bit my lower lip. Slowly glancing towards Tirta was. He looked relaxed, sitting unmoved still while playing the pen. The teacher snorted in annoyance. Put the book back in front of Tirta with a little slamming.

“Eum, actually ...”

“I am ready to accept the punishment,” sela Tirta quickly as I was about to confess that it was actually my book. I looked at him in disbelief. He felt very strange about his attitude.

Teacher went back to the front of the class.

I cut off his arm, then looked at him sharply. Tirta only glanced at me.

“Why are you doing this?” my whiskey. He's unmoved. Instead of answering, instead looked at his arm that I unconsciously grasped tightly.

“Ma’af,” I said, when I finally realized it had gripped his arm. I quickly let go, and he stepped out of class. The punishment that Master gave. I was silent, feeling guilty. Seeing his back growing farther away and then disappearing behind the door of this class.

After the break bell rang I immediately looked for Tirta's whereabouts. I heard that Teacher gave him the punishment to clean the toilet. By the time she reached the toilet, she was no longer there. It seems he has already completed the punishment. Seen from the condition of the toilet that has been kinclong and fragrant.

Then where is he going?

“See Tirta, no?” ask one of the students who wants to go to the toilet. Instead of answering immediately, the student in front of me looked at me with a strange look.

A split second later he reached out his hand and shook my hand tightly. I frowned. Baffled.

“Congratulations!”

“Congratulations for what?” ask me before he finishes his words.

“Congratulations, you are the first person in this school who is looking for the existence of Tirta,” he added, still shaking my hand.

“Hah!” I gawk.

“Sorry, I don't know where he is. But usually he if not in the library, likes nangkring in the tree in the backyard of the school,” he explained, while releasing his hand job. Then go into the toilet.

Scratching the head that is not actually itchy. Then hurry to the library. Still thinking hard. Why does everyone in this village look so weird?

Arriving at the library immediately I checked every hunter. But Tirta I couldn't find.

As per the student's instructions, I also went to the backyard. When I got to the back of the school, my eyes were immediately fixed on a large tree located about 15 meters from the back porch of the school.

Swing a step closer to the big tree. He looked up, but Tirta was not there either. Then walk around the tree, maybe Tirta is behind it.

However, it was not Tirta that I met, but rather a offerings placed right on top of the tree roots that poked out from the ground. And three sticks of incense were ignited, and the smoke was still billowing. The smell of incense also pierced the nose.

Who put the offerings here? And what's the purpose?

Is it possible that Tirta installed the offerings here?
