Thorny Love

Thorny Love
*Chapter 67

Seeing Zein stunned, Zia took the initiative to call out to him.

"Zit."

The call was unable to resuscitate Zein from his daydream. He was still stunned with his own thoughts.

"Zit." Zia repeated her call again. This time, not just a call, Zia accompanied the call with a touch to let Zein wake up from her daydream.

"Ah, yes," said Zein rather startled.

"You're daydreaming, Zein?" ask Zia.

"No, Zi. I'm not daydreaming."

"La continues? I just called, you don't fuck at all. I have to hit you just to realize."

"I ... Zia, I have something to ask you. Please answer honestly my question," Zein said with a serious face.

"You want to ask me? Ask what?"

"I want to ask you about your ex-husband. Earlier I apologized if I was too presumptuous to ask you about this. But this is so disturbing to my mind. So I can't calm down before I ask you. What if your ex-husband takes you back? Are you going to accept it?"

"No." Zia answered briefly what Zein was asking.

"Re-really? Are you sure of your answer?" asked Zein happily.

"Zein, I'm pretty sure of what I said. This heart is dead. This love was over when he hurt me with the betrayal he gave me. So, there is no more common word between me and Rama."

"You see, thank you very much for the answer you gave me, Zia," Zein said with a sweet smile.

"thank you? Why are you even thanking me, Zein? I didn't do anything for you. Why should I thank you?" zia asked confusedly.

"This answer makes me feel happy. That's why I'm grateful. You know, don't you, if I had a wish that I've been hoping for you to return my wish with the same hope?"

"Zein, this is not a good time to reciprocate the expectations you have. Did you forget? We got a lot of unresolved issues?"

"I knew. But, I always wait for you to return my expectations this soon. Hopefully we can turn our relationship into a real one soon."

_________

Riska and Laila are charged with guilt for all the evidence Zia has. However, the two were given different punishments for different charges.

Riska was sentenced to ten years in prison for the theft. As for Laila, he had to receive a penalty twice the punishment Riska got. Because Laila was also led by the defamation charge, as well as the attempted murder that Rama reported.

"You're satisfied Zia, I've already gotten a punishment for what I did to you?" laila asked as she was about to be taken back into custody.

"You deserve it. Because what you do must be taught a lesson so that you feel what pain feels like." It was not Zia who answered the question, but Rama.

"Is that what you hate about me, mom? To the point that you could do all this to me. I don't think about what happened. Apparently, you have no heart" said Laila with a sharp look at Rama.

"Oh, don't talk much. Just take all this. Because you deserve it. One more thing, I've been taking care of our divorce. You just wait for the letter to come. I'll take you to the police station when you're ready."

"You are evil, Rama. So mean!" laila said so upset and sad.

Riska and Laila were then taken back to the police station to be in prison as the judge had decided. They had to stop the fight because the time given to Laila to talk to the person she wanted to talk to was up.

Zia looked at Laila's back and Riska who was taken by the police left the place further away. There was a sadness in his heart seeing all of that. Although the crime they had committed against Zia did have to get a punishment in order to get a deterrent effect, but still, Zia's heart felt sad about it all.

"What are you saying, Zi? They deserve it. What they do, they must be accountable.

If they don't get this kind of punishment, they won't be deterred" Rama said.

"Yes, Rama has a point, Zia. These punishments are in return for what they do. If they don't get this kind of punishment, then they won't feel deterred" Zein confirmed.

"Yes I know this just to give a deterrent effect on both of them. But, this punishment is too long for them."

"Zia, yes. Don't think about this anymore. All this has happened, inevitably, we can only let it go. After all, you don't have to think of anything as insignificant as this, Zia. Now, I'll take you home. Let you rest at home" Zein said, holding onto Zia's shoulders.

"You're all right? It's nice to touch Zia" said Rama, shaking Zein's hand.

"He's not going home with you. Zia will come home with me, because I will take her home" said Rama again.

"Oh, can't. Zia will come home with me. There is no reason to go home with, Mr. Rama," Zein said firmly.

"No. I'll take him home."

"can't. Zia is coming home with me now," Zein insisted.

"Enough!" Zia shouted as she did not want to continue listening to Zein and Rama's debate.

"I'm not going home with you two" Zia said again.

"Lho, why Zia? If you don't go home with me, who do you want to go home with? Don't tell me you want to go home by yourself, Zia. Because I won't let you go home alone" Zein said.

"I won't let you go home alone, Zia. Come on, I'll take you home now" said Rama.

"No. Like I said, I'm not going home with you two. I'll go home in my own car."

"Restu, let's go now" Zia said to Restu who had been there since.

"Good mbak."

"You can continue your debate for as long as you want now. Because I'm going home with Restu" Zia said before moving on.

"Ta-but Zi .... " Rama tried to prevent but there was no result. Zia continued to continue on without looking.

Seeing Zia who had walked first to leave the place, Zein also followed what Zia was doing. He also left the place even though Zia did not come home with him.

"Wait!" rama stopped Zein's steps.

"What else is it, Rama?" asked Zein in a lazy tone.

"It's all because of you. If not, Zia would have wanted me to take you home by now. What the hell do you want?" rama asked in annoyance.

"Sir Rama asked what do I want? Surely Mr. Rama knows what I really want" Zein said with a sharp look.

"I won't let you get close to Zia. Because of me, her ex-husband will be back with Zia again," said Rama steady with a thousand confident.

"We'll see, Mr. Rama. Excuse me."

Zein again left this place, also leaving Rama who was silent with the words that Zein said.
