John was so surprised that the Slave only cost 5 gold coins because his soap cost 3 gold coins. Joseph went on to explain that only his Rose soap cost 3 gold coins and above because they were of better quality and there was no competition in the market and there was a thing about nobility that was not thinking when they spent for their luxuries the other factors that caused slaves to be low-cost were due to the very high population on the continent. John thought for a while and understood, so came to the conclusion that it was probably due to the previous human value of the earth that made his head mess up in the Arkon.

From John's conversation and the slave's request, Tom learns that he's getting a big fish this time to sell his slave and it also takes money to keep the slave so it's good for him. Only knights, warriors and mages were useful as they were always sold early.

While looking at the debt slaves, he looked at the group of people who were fragile but seemed to be quite knowledgeable of their behavior and clothing. After asking Tom, he learns that they are from a famous family who made their family fleet hijacked and plundered by pirates after they offended the son of a noble. Moreover, they were in debt when they made a last resort so that was how their family became slaves for losing their last business.

It was a family of 5, with a middle-aged man and woman, there were 3 children with the oldest 16 and the youngest 10 and the second 13. They all knew how to read and write and it seemed that the 16-year-old boy had offended the son of a noble. From his eyes, all John could see was his determination.

The only problem with buying them was that they would offend nobles if they bought them. However, this can be solved if people do not know and someone still has to buy it. They spent a total of 40 gold coins since they were educated and rarely did lay people get an education during this era. Most of the merchants of Nobles or Rich used to get education in person.

Then he went on to buy the dwarves as they would help build the machine later on. There were no experienced dwarves as they were mostly bought early by nobles and merchants. But there are students. These dwarves were carried by the Big Mercenary Guilds. The Slave Trade only facilitated this mercenary union to earn more. Many times they were used by the nobles to do their bidding in the dark. But the Mercenary Guild was a powerful organization but because there was a conflict of interest, they were not united. Many Mercenary guilds were just a front for Nobles.

There was a middle-aged dwarf lying in the corner. The thing about this dwarf was that he was the cruelest slave they had obtained. Tom only knows that he is cruel to everyone, whether a dwarf or not. So many people do not buy it because it will be difficult to handle and it will become less efficient for the job.

The dwarf's name is Tornwall. John doesn't care about that because he only cares if he makes his machine. The circumstances in which he was sold were also a bit strange. He was sold by the Dwarf nobles themselves. It seemed like he had a story hidden for the time being.

Jay helped him take 20 archers for now, they were not as expensive as knights or witches.and then he took 100 slaves, all 80 were humans and 20 dwarves were his workshop. So in total, he bought 127 slaves for which he paid 1500 gold coins. If he wanted Elves for architecture and buildings, he would buy them later was his mind.

After all we will get a commission and since my family has a connection to the Marquis, we will mostly get transport work.” Joseph said John whose face was filled with dilemma.

“Let's go to Auction for now. Since there are nobles here today, I think there will be some good items sold today.”

John had no idea that runes could be used to control the life and death of slaves. It was the first time he had watched runes to control them. Yet many slaves were sometimes ruthless who did not fear death and to the slave traders, they were items worth money so they always tried to keep them alive.

“Okay, let's go to the auction, later I will talk to the slaves,” John said to Joseph and continued while Tom did all the preparations for the slaves and made sure they were in good condition when they reached the northern border city as they were instructions from John. Tom understood very well that John planned to cultivate loyal slaves so he wanted to treat them well like normal people, but this came from John as a natural instinct of his life on earth.

Soon they came out of the Slave market and into one of the largest buildings in Pearl city.

The auction was 3 floors high, with the highest floor reserved for Nobles, the, the middle floor was reserved for wealthy merchants or those with invitations and the ground floor for normal men who were planning to see the auction and buy something, he said, these people also serve as a platform for free advertising.

Upon entering the Building they were greeted by One of the Auction Managers.

“Aah, Mr. Joseph, you came after a long time here and it looks like you brought a new person this time.” The manager greeted Joseph as he watched Joseph enter the auction.

“Well, that's right. He is my friend and also my business partner, you can call him John. He came from the north with me to finish some things and toured south at the same time. At the moment we will just come to see the auction and see if there is anything interesting today, “ Joseph told Manager in a carefree tone. It seemed like the two of them had known each other for a long time.

“OK, let's go inside,” Joseph thanks and agrees to the Manager and head into the Auction.

The manager then took them to the second floor. From this interaction, John understood that Joseph was a commoner here and was therefore allowed to sit on the second floor. There was a large platform in front of them in the auction hall and all three floors could see the Auction platform from their floors.
