THE WORLD DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM
chapter 24's

After passing through the market, they returned to the bar where everyone rested. Then an old man who looked to be in his 70s came with Eric and greeted him. It seems they are waiting for their arrival. The old man was not very tall but was filled with energy as he greeted all of them. The parents' names were Phillip and Joseph's butler since he was young. He was used to handling all of Joseph's business dealings and advising him on certain situations. After the greetings, they all headed to the guest house that Phillip had prepared for them. After that they headed west of the city with a train prepared.

The river flows from west to east then in the sea in the city of Pearl. Most of the development of Pearl city is done in coastal areas with the center and east of pearl city as the main focus while the West focuses on mining and agriculture. The population of this city is in the millions as there is a thriving commercial and agricultural industry and they should only focus on pirates when it comes to borders.

They headed to the southwest of the city reaching the Mansion prepared for them. This is Joseph's own house. After reaching them first take a break and then during lunch, they get together and go to the main business.

During lunch, Butler Phillip told Joseph about various matters concerning his family and business. It seems that one of his brothers leaked information about the source of his soap to one of his uncles.

In the Morgan family, everyone is vying for power, whether it's his father, uncle, siblings, or cousins. As part of such a large family, it is inevitable that internal differences will always arise from the ambitions of people and hence grow in this way.

He also told Joseph about the huge sale of Rose soap among the nobles for now and he hoped they could supply more for the rich merchants as well. They had also negotiated with the help of Marquis Ray in exporting it to other countries and the duke for a portion of the profits. So his father hoped Joseph and John could come and negotiate with them because they were already in Pearl city.

Both Joseph and John agreed to it and sent their replies at the invitation of the Marquis and Joseph's father.

From this, it can be seen that his father and the Marquis had bet on them because they wanted to negotiate a long-term deal and wanted to improve their market and profits. Plus, since John was new to Merchant and Noble circles, they hoped to cultivate allies for future efforts.

since it was a benefit exchange, there would be negotiations on both sides for the maximum share.

The Butler handed a reply to one of the servants inside the Mansion who rushed off to the main castle.

Today they had decided to survey the market because Eva and her team did not want to visit the slave market, either, so Butler Phillip decides to visit Eva and her team while Joseph leads John and Jay to the slave market.

Joseph and his team reached the center of Pearl city where there was a large market. Here they could see people of different races. There were Dwarves, Half Dwarves, Elves, Half-elves, Demons, Half-Devils, and other Demon tribes and other races.

From Joseph John learns that most other races are captured in war or mercenaries who kidnap them from the border. The demons they encountered here were most likely Nobles from the Demon kingdom in the Northwest. The name of the Demon Kingdom was the Fire Abyss Kingdom as it was ruled by the Fire Abyss Demons for the past 600 years.

Most of the people remained slaves because their families or kingdoms did not redeem them because they were expensive. Most of the time the kingdom only redeemed the elites or what they found useful. Many merchants who sell pearls and gemstones here mostly buy them from the Marquis Ray company and then sell them here and other places.

The other races also had businesses here that sold their own specialties, like the elves mostly sold artworks here while demons sold dark magic, magic stones and precious talismans, and the dwarves are always adept at making weapons and equipment. The Morgan family was the greatest protector of Marquis Ray while Marquis Ray had a total of 15 territories with the city of Pearl being one of the important pillars of his income.

Joseph and John then arrive at the slave market. Joseph introduced him to a man whose family usually bought slaves for their company operations. This person was a middle-aged man and he usually dealt with slaves for Marquis Ray. Although the nobles handled the slave trade, they did not like to do it in front of everyone so they hired their accomplices to do their dirty work. This guy's name is Tom, he's a bit chubby and wears fancy clothes but when it comes to business, he's a professional Joseph's description to John before arriving. The slave market was huge here as it was a thriving port city and it was easier for people to smuggle people by sea.

After asking, John learned the price of the Slave from Tom.

1 Normal slave is 5 gold coins.

1 Knight slave is 50 gold coins.

1 dwarf is 20 gold coins.

1 magician has between 50-100 or more gold coins depending on their Job.

However, it differs from person to person. John now only needs at least 100 normal men,
