Two Years ago.
“Pa, where are we going?” chloe Jovanika asked Light when her father left.
Chloe was astonished at the time because her father asked her to dress well and neatly, then took her away while her father's company went bankrupt. Chloe just thinks if it's not possible that the father would invite her to have fun celebrating her birthday. He is self-conscious if he does not want to demand more because he knows his father's troubles.
“Chloe, you love Papa, ‘kan?” charles looked at his daughter sitting next to him.
“Of course I love Papa,” Chloe replied, for him the father is everything.
“So, whatever Papa will do, you will obey him, ‘kan?” asked Charles again to make sure still by continuing to drive his car.
Chloe began to get confused at her father's question, why did the father say so. However, Chloe never thought negatively about the father, making him nod his head.
The car Charles was driving stopped at a nightclub. Chloe frowned more and more because her father took her there.
“Pa, what to get here for?” chloe asked with anxious feelings.
“Meet Papa's acquaintance,” Charles replied, “ayo down!” take Charles then.
Without any suspicion Chloe came down and followed her father's steps. Inwardly guess whether his father made a surprise on his birthday. However, her father may surprise her at a nightclub, while she reminds Chloe not to throw a party at such a place.
Charles invites Chloe into a special room at the club, until there Chloe sees a middle-aged woman dressed quite skimpy sitting while holding a cigarette in her hand.
“Madame.”
Chloe heard the father calling in a polite manner.
“This is my daughter I told you about yesterday, how?” charles asked as he pointed to Chloe who was standing beside him.
Chloe is shocked to hear Charles say, wondering what her father told her.
The woman, called Madame by Charles, stood around Chloe and watched her body from toe to head, judging Chloe's body is arguably perfect with smooth skin and a plain face that is very sweet.
“Beautiful and attractive, I'm sure she will sell expensive. Especially tonight where I will have a special guest,” Madame said after observing Chloe's body.
Chloe was surprised to hear Madame say, what does she mean by expensive behavior. He then turned his head to the father, giving a look with a question about the meaning of the middle-aged woman's words.
“Pa, what does that mean?” Chloe was panicking and scared.
Madame immediately looked at Chloe when she heard the girl's question, to guess if Charles must have not told the truth.
“Explain first to him, I don't want any problems behind!” madame's orders to Charles.
Charles approached and held onto Chloe's two arms, to which the distraught princess was also frightened.
“Pa.” Chloe looked at the father with teary eyes. She seemed to know Madame's intentions, but tried to dodge before hearing her father's explanation firsthand.
“Chloe, you love Papa, ‘right? You don't want Papa to fall, ‘kan?” charles asked, looking at his daughter.
Chloe nodded her head in response to Charles' question.
“Please Chloe, please this time only. Sorry if Papa has to do this, but Papa needs money to pay the rest of Papa's debt,” Charles explained.
Chloe was stunned to hear the words of the papa, so it was true that she was sold.
“Papa sell me?” When she said that word, Chloe's heart was like being pierced by an invisible dagger.
Charles closed his eyes while looking down, both hands tightly clutching Chloe's arm.
“Pa, respond! Papa sold me?” Chloe's emotions peaked, not expecting the father to sacrifice himself.
“Sorry, Chloe. Papa has no choice.”
Chloe's legs felt limp, so strong that the papa sold his own flesh and blood. He stared in disappointment, is it true that the father did not want it, to be able to sell it.
“If I wanted to, would that make Papa debt free?” chloe asked after feeling her heart so frozen because of her father's actions.
Charles fell silent, looking at Chloe who was full of disappointment.
“Chloe.” Suddenly guilt crept into Charles' heart as he looked into his daughter's eyes.
“If it can make Papa happy, then I will be willing to sell. However, once that happens, Papa will no longer be entitled to me.”
The words hurt his father's heart as well as his own. Chloe was disappointed, sad, and heartbroken because the man she loved so much could sell her for granted.
“Goodbye, Pa.”

There was no sense of clear crystal drooping from the eyelids as Jova recalled the night where she was sold by her father. The pain and disappointment was still lodged in his heart to this day.
Jova wiped away the trail of tears streaming down her cheeks, trying to shake off those bitter memories, but they were all in vain because in reality Jova still kept the pain deep down.
“I hate my birthday, if I could I would have never been born and lived in this world.”
