“Then did an accident happen today? Did you use me as your shield?”
Since he was an employee of Afonso, he would not allow him to be criticized and questioned by others without any reason. This is why he is willing to give help.
Afonso leaned towards her by bending her body and whispering near her ear. His voice was icy cold, "I hope this is the last time something like this happens. If you attack me again, I don't mind ending your three-month term here prematurely."
Afonso glared at her so sharply that Winnie felt intimidated and scared just by looking into her eyes. Winnie felt something stuck in her throat and there was no way to get it out.
However, luck was siding with him as a voice suddenly broke the silence that signified the arrival of the elevator. Afonso did not intend to continue this any further, so he turned around and disappeared into the elevator.
Only then did Winnie's tense body finally relax.
He really could not imagine a good picture of himself in his mind!
"Miss Chamber."
When Winnie arrives at her department, she is stopped by her assistant, Vanessa. He had a face written with sadness and nervousness.
“What happened? What's up?”
Vanessa replied with a bitter expression, "There's a little guest throwing a tantrum in the VIP room on the twentieth floor. He did not want to eat anything and everyone who tried to enter to comfort him had been shunned. Now, the guest room is in total disarray. If he falls into something in the room and injures himself, his responsibility will be the hotel's responsibility."
“A small guest staying in a VIP room on the twentieth floor?” Winnie could not remember a client that fit this description in her list. He asked further, “Is he a newly arrived guest?”
His assistant immediately nodded, "You could say so. He was only five years old and at such a young age he had a bad temper. No one could calm him down and his family was not around at the moment either. He was so angry that he destroyed everything in the room."
"What's? His family isn't here? Is that real?" Winne immediately made up her mind, "Let's go. Take me there."
His assistant waited for Winnie to say the words as she hurriedly followed behind Winnie, "He hasn't eaten all day, and we're worried that something might go wrong if things continue like this. If it were that way, we wouldn't be able to bear the consequences."
"His parents aren't by his side so you can't blame him for feeling insecure." Winnie pressed the elevator button while explaining, "How could they have left her son alone in the hotel room. Do you think such behavior is acceptable?"
His assistant shrank backwards while nodding with an unnatural expression.
In front of the VIP room, there was a commotion. The sound of broken ceramics rang out and a servant screamed after him. Several employees were gathered around the entrance of the suite at this time.
"Miss Chamber is here."
Amidst the noise, Winnie passed through the path opened by the spectators and entered the room. He saw everything falling apart in the living room. Flutes and pillows on the sofa are strewn across the floor and fruit juice stains are also seen coloring the floor. Fractions of broken dishes were mixed with Italian noodles as they lay on the floor at random. The lights near the sofa had also collapsed and the entire place looked as if there was no room left for anyone to set foot.
Winnie let out a cold sigh because she could not believe this was the work of a five-year-old.
"Where is the boy?" He asked in a low voice.
Another manager hurriedly pointed towards the bedroom, "He shut himself in there. Miss Chamber, what do you think we should do now?"
Standing outside there are dozens of employees consisting of waitresses, receptionists and managers but none of them can provide solutions.
Winnie frowned and asked, "Have you contacted the boy's parents?"
“We cannot contact them at this time.”
Some employees exchanged glances as if they were conveying information secretly.
"Forget it." Winnie rolled up her sleeves and ordered them, "Tell the kitchen to prepare a bowl of custard and also a bowl of boiled meatballs. Send someone here immediately to clean up this mess." After saying that, Winnie navigated the chaos on the floor and headed towards the bedroom.
"Did we just let him in?"
"What do you mean you want to get into his place?"
"Cannot be. If I upset little Neo, I'll lose my job."
The vague voice of the gossip was not loud enough to be caught by Winnie.
The bedroom door was left slightly open, and the gap was enough for one to peer into the room and see the situation inside. Pillows were strewn across the floor and a tiny figure wearing checkered pajamas was sitting on the ice floor. His back was facing the door and his unmoving figure made him look like a statue.
Winnie tried to start a conversation but it was clear the little figure was not planning to respond. He tried to get close to her but after taking two steps, the tiny figure suddenly moved and threw something at her. The unidentified object was hurtling towards him at high speed.
Winnie has a very fast sensitivity, so she is able to avoid objects that enter in the last seconds before the object hits her.
With a loud clashing sound, it turned out that it was the glass thrown by him and was now smashed into pieces after hitting the cupboard behind him.
He had seen many people with bad temper, but this was the first time he had seen someone so young throw a tantrum by throwing things directly. Winnie could only frown with a hint of anger at first, but strangely, when she saw this little boy, she felt all traces of her anger disappear.
Sitting surrounded by blankets and pillows, the little boy wearing the brown checkered pajamas looked at him curiously. He had a perfect set of features that seemed to have been specially sculpted and he could imagine how handsome and popular he was among women when he grew up.
However, her perfect face was now changed and anger and dissatisfaction were visible all over her face.
"What's going on here?" Winnie took a few steps towards him and crouched down beside him, "Who is bullying you?"
The little boy just watched her without saying anything and there was a hint of doubt in his watery eyes. The next second, he suddenly pushed his hand abruptly as if telling him not to proceed any further. He's very alert.
Winnie didn't try to cheer him up again after this. He just sat next to her and they just stared at each other for some time.
Shortly after, a waiter said outside the suite, "Miss Chamber, custard and meatballs are ready. Can I deliver it?"
"No need." Winnie replied with her head turned, "Leave it near the door and cover it with an insulation cover.
A faint fragrance slowly seeped into the room, and the non-speaking boy somehow stole a glance towards him. It seemed like he had already made a swallowing move several times.
After going berserk like that, it was only natural that he felt hungry.
Winnie was silent for a while before suddenly suggesting as if an idea had crossed her mind, "I feel a little hungry at the moment and I want to eat something in your suit here. you think it's okay, don't you?"
The little boy continued to frown with a face filled with annoyance. He simply turned around, saying nothing in response.
Winnie took her silence as an agreement, so she got up and took the tray of food inside. The custard is slippery and the meatballs give off an intoxicating aroma. He took out an empty bowl and took out half a bowl of pudding while adding half a piece of meatballs. He then smoothed the food and blew it away while commenting, "It smells so good! Looks like they can cook this meatball very well today."
He could hear the swallowing sound made by the boy behind him.
Winnie carried her bowl while looking back at her with a puzzled look on her face. He happened to see the annoyed yet hopeful expression of the little boy, and he could not help but laugh coldly in his heart. He said thoughtfully, “Are you willing to try it even if it's only for a moment? It's really delicious, and it's my favorite food too.”
The boy continued to remain silent, but after hesitating, he nodded.
"All right." Winnie approached him with a bowl of food in her hand. He took a spoonful of custard and meatballs and fed them into his mouth, then asked, "Enak?"
The little boy chewed for a while before nodding with sparkling eyes.
Winnie did not stop feeding him as she fed him another spoonful of food.
The little boy chewed on food while packing Winnie in front of him. She felt this woman was unlike any other woman who feared and hated her. This lady is so gentle.
In no time, the bowl of custard and meatballs was almost gone.
Winnie handed him a tissue paper to wipe his mouth and he said jokingly, "Alright, you're finally full now. I think you've got more energy to do it again!"
The little boy pouted and turned his face away from her unhappily. It seemed that he did not like receiving cynical comments from others.
Winnie smiled faintly and as she stood with the bowl and plate in her hand, something pulled her before she could turn around and leave. She looked down and saw this little boy holding the end of his skirt with a guilty expression on his face. He didn't seem to want her to just leave.
Looking at her insecure face, Winnie's thoughts drifted to her own daughter. As she was busy with work, she also did not spend much time with him, and this little boy in front of her made her heart ache a little. He then said softly, "I won't go anywhere. I just want to deliver these plates so as not to fall."
Even so, the boy continued to reach for the end of his skirt nonstop.
