Winnie initially thought that Afonso did not want to trouble her, so that was why she stood behind him. Only after she swung her swing a few more times did she realize that Afonso sounded like he was gritting his teeth as he said, "Winnie, I said, take your hands off."
He hurriedly let go of her and asked in surprise, "A... What's up?"
Afonso stomped the ground hard to gain control of the swinging motion. His expensive leather shoes bore two marks that were visible in the sand on the ground as his swing stopped his movement.
He turned around and stared intently at Winnie, "Did I say I want to sit on this swing?"
“Didn't you say it wasn't safe? I thought you wanted to test this swing for Neo.” Winnie still did not realize her mistake and replied nonchalantly.
"In addition, in order to get along with a child, you must get used to playing with his favorite toys. Don't tell me you've never spent time having fun with Neo?"
"Is that why you think I should sit on this swing with you?" There was a hint of anger in Afonso's eyes as he stared at Winnie unhappily.
Winnie was still very forgetful as she tried to understand Afonso. Suddenly, the smile on his face seemed to freeze.
He was wearing a suit that looked smart, yet he was sitting on a swing with a color that contrasted sharply with his appearance. He was too focused on keeping his feelings to the point that he forgot about his usually cold and aloof attitude.
"About that... Ahems...Ahems... I suddenly remembered that I had to get to work right now. I'll go now." Winnie pretended to check the time on her watch before taking a few steps back and running away.
As he watched the woman run away from him, Afonso felt his anger slowly dissipate, and an unusual warm radiance appeared on his face. As there was no one around him now, his slender fingers were tied to the swing rope, and he smiled back then.
Winnie did not stop running until she came out of the school grounds, and when she finally reached the school gate, she simply stopped to catch her breath. He held onto his chest as if he had just escaped.
He's really scared. If he remained silent for even a second, he was sure he would be dismembered by Afonso's murderous gaze.
"Miss Chamber, are you here alone?"
He looked up and met Viola who had just gotten off the van. Viola crossed his arms and approached him in an unfriendly manner.
Winnie furrowed her brows and recalled her firm demeanor while interrogating Zoe, therefore she immediately felt a surging sense of disdain towards him. He simply nodded towards her and muttered a careless answer before reaching out his hand to hail a taxi.
"You should know by now that I'm getting married to Afonso, right?"
Viola's not gonna let Winnie go yet.
Winnie could only answer him, "The rumors are spreading everywhere in the company. It would be weird if I didn't know."
"As long as you know." Viola showed off her hair while lifting her chin haughtily.
“Although not yet an official news story, but we will soon hold a press conference. My marriage to Afonso is going to be big news in this country. Therefore, if any immoral person wanted to intervene shamelessly, he would have to face the anger of the people. Maybe in the end not only did he not get what he wanted, he would also suffer losses."
“You think too much, Miss Kidman.” Winnie decided to feign ignorance in an attempt to allow both parties to end this conversation peacefully, “I don't understand what you want to say.”
However, Viola did not plan to continue this matter peacefully as he suddenly interrupted, “I tell you to stay as far away from Afonso.” as possible
For six years he had known Afonso, he had never seen him harbour any feelings for any woman. He used to think that this side of himself would benefit him because he was never really interested in women and that would allow him to hold tightly to the throne of Lady Villares. She would get everything she wanted without worrying that her husband would change his mind.
However, the woman in front of him is somehow able to encourage Afonso to let himself look for a school for the woman's daughter. Everything is so confusing.
The moment Viola declared his true intentions, they did not need to come face to face anymore.
"Why?" Viola snorted coldly, “Are you feeling guilty right now?”
"Do you think all the women standing next to Mr. Villares are trying to strengthen themselves as their partners or gain an advantage?"
"I think so. Who knows what kind of bad idea you're going to put out just because you saved Neo? Honestly speaking, you're just a management trainee at the hotel, there's no way you can send your daughter to Blue Castle's Bilingual Children's Park. You're just doing this to get closer to Afonso. Don't think I didn't realize your intention. I've seen too many women like you."
Winnie's expression darkened as she looked at Viola with dirty thoughts and uttered such vile words, she replied with her other question, "Women like me?"
“I'm talking about a shameless woman like you who only knows how to rank up using men.” Viola curled up at the corner of his lips, and he sneered coldly with obvious sarcasm, "Let me warn you. Do not stretch your hand out to things and people that are not yours. You should think for your daughter's safety too."
When she heard this, Winnie increased the strength in her fist, "Miss Kidman, you better watch your mouth. I never had any ill intentions towards Mr. Villares. Everything is just an unfounded assumption of your mind."
Viola wanted to avenge Winnie, but a familiar figure suddenly entered his gaze from the corner of his eyes. He immediately smiled and turned around, "Afonso, why are you just out now?"
"There's something." Afonso took a quick glance at it before turning his gaze to Winnie. He then offered, "There's some business I need to finish at the hotel. Do you want to go together?"
Since Winnie had just been given an ultimatum by Viola, if she accepted Afonso's invitation by not understanding the situation, it would be a blatant provocation on her part.
Winnie didn't want to cause a commotion, so she shook her head loudly, "It's okay, I'll hail a cab over there."
Afonso didn't force Winnie, so she got in the car with Viola and went to the hotel first.
As they were on their way, Viola could not stop observing Afonso's expression and he found that Afonso's mood was in high spirits. He suspected something was going on in kindergarten, so he tried to pry her, "Afonso, even though Madame Chamber did save Neo's life, but don't you think you've treated him too well?"
Afonso continued to stare at the scenery passing outside the window and replied weakly, "Is that so? You think too much."
“Princess Mistress Chamber can study in Blue Castle's Bilingual Children's Park, and that's because of your intervention isn't it?”
Hearing that, Afonso's face became ice-cold. He looked at his driver and issued a cold order, "It looks like Magnus has recruited personnel according to low standards. You can go to the finance department to collect your salary, he said, and today will be your last day working for me ."
“Master Villares.” The driver was confused, "I'm wrong here, me..."
“I'm the one who asked him.” Viola tried to explain, "I just asked him for no apparent reason, why do you have to react this big? This proves that you're worrying too much about Winnie."
"I said," Afonso looked at him impatiently as he continued with displeasure, "You think too much."
"Is that so? I just feel..."
"What do you think of my concern for her?" Afonso took a quick glance at it and added, "If you insist on continuing on this topic, you can get off this car. You've been asking too many questions lately."
Hearing that, Viola could only shut up while biting his lips. Inevitably he held his handbag perched on his lap. Even his knuckles are white.
His instincts told him that Winnie was not easy to get rid of.
