The Stupid of Laweyan's Shoulder

The Stupid of Laweyan's Shoulder
CHAPTER 17: Rise Again.

The days of Mesha from that day on, there was no change. Time is spent only in the room. He is often confused on the edge of the bed, sometimes looking at his reflection in front of a mirror. In fact, he was more silent than talking.

Zafia comes, and invites Mesha to speak. But still, Mesha was reluctant to make a sound. Like he was busy with his own thoughts. Even Zafia once advised Mayang to take Mesha to a psychiatrist, but his proposal was rejected outright.

"My daughter is still sane!" sergeant Mayang at that time.

This afternoon, Mayang looked up from the door of the room, looking at Mesha who was sitting blankly on the bed. While the breakfast he prepared for Mesha, was still lying intact at the dressing table.

Mayang nelangsa heart saw the state of his daughter who for days was still like that. Mesha would eat even food, if he forced a bribe for the sake of a bribe into the mouth of the girl. In fact, his bribes were rejected more often. There is guilt that pokes his feelings. But he was the same, helpless.

The knock on the front door broke Mayang's daydream, without realizing he had been standing in place for a long time.

Mayang rushed to open the door. A beautiful face poked out from behind the door, a polite smile adorning that face.

"Bulek ..." call the girl, after a greeting.

"Eh, Nduk Grisa's. Come on, let's go in!"

"Yes, Bulek ... maturnuwun."

Grisa sat on the living room sofa after the host invited her.

"What's up, Nduk. How come you came here?" ask Mayang carefully.

Grisa opened her sling bag and picked up a small book bearing the Garuda emblem. Then, he extended the book to Mayang.

"This ...." Mayang was surprised to see the object that Grisa pushed.

"Mother asked Gris to give this to Mesha's mother, Bulek. Unfortunately a few days before this, Gris still had a lot of business. So, only today, can you come here," said Grisa, then he asked, "May Gris meet with Mesha's sister, Bulek?"

"By, Nduk. Bulek even seneng if you still want to see Mesha, let's go into his room," replied Mayang while rising from his seat, delivering Grisa to Mesha's room.

Grisa was surprised to see the state of Mesha.

"Bulek, Mbak Mesha has been like this since that day?" ask Grisa.

Mayang nodded.

Grisa walked into the room and approached Mesha who was sitting on the edge of the bed staring blankly towards the front.

Grisa crouched down before Mesha, then clasped the hand of the woman sitting in front of him.

Mesha reacted, he looked at Grisa, and began to cry.

"I'm sorry .. I'm sorry ..." said Mesha accompanied by sobs.

Grisa couldn't stand it, she hugged Mesha, stroked the girl's back.

"Already, Ma'am. It's ..it's not Mesha's fault. Please release Gi, Ma'am!"

Mesha's shoulders were getting shaken from his sobbing. Grisa let the woman spill all her sorrow.

"Nothing cry, Ma'am. Until Ms. Mesha is relieved," added Grisa.

*****

Grisa lays a wreath on top of Giyan's grave. After returning home from Mesha's house, he stopped by the cemetery where his loved ones were buried.

Grisa crouched down, stroking the gravestone bearing her brother's name. Then said,

"Mas Gi, I saw Mesha. Kasian I mas .. mbak Mesha shaken, his face pale, Mas." Grisa was silent for a moment then sighed.

"Mas Gi, help Mesha get back to his usual life, Mas ...."

Grisa continued talking to the tombstone as if he was talking directly to Giyan.

*****

Grisa's words earlier this afternoon began to bring her back to consciousness.

"Mbak Mesha, everything has been outlined. Grisa understands very well, mas Gi will also not like to see the situation of Mbak Mesha, rich gini. Grisa please, Ma'am ...."

After feeling finished with her meal, Mesha sat leaning on her bed. Between conscious and unconscious, he saw the figure of Giyan standing at the door with her trademark smile.

Mesha got up from his seat, chasing after the figure he saw, but then the figure disappeared. He fell down, and cried again.

Mayang, hearing Mesha's cries, rushed to the room, and pushed her daughter into bed. Then wait until the girl is asleep, then move on.

*****

Mesha dreaming. In his dream, he walked in a vast meadow, as if neither ledge nor ledge. The atmosphere was so pleasant, to him.

Again and again, Mesha saw the figure of Giyan standing far ahead of him, wearing all-white clothes and walking towards Mesha with a beautiful curvature of lips.

Giyan stroked the top of Mesha's head gently, then clasped his hand. Then he sucked an object in the palm of Mesha's hand, and turned away leaving Mesha still standing in confusion.

Mesha ran with all his might chasing after Giyan, but his hand still could not reach out. Then a bright light shimmered and Mesha closed her eyes, and when she opened her eyes, and looked around, she was already in the room, still lying.

Mesha slowly inched to a seat, then opened his clasped hands. He was surprised, Zay's bead bracelet was in his grasp.

Mesha rubbed the bead bracelet, and put it on his wrist as usual.

"What should I do?" Mesha muttered like he was talking to an object that was coiled around his wrist.

Meanwhile, Mayang and Bagas stood looking at Mesha who was starting to make a sound, with a smile. Earlier, Mayang picked up the dropped bracelet, and put it in the hands of Mesha, as the girl slept.

*****

After that night, Mesha had started to "live" back. He started talking to Mayang, and smiled when Zafia or Grisa came to see him.

It took me a long time to get Mesha back to how it was.

One day, Zafia tries to take Mesha on a pilgrimage to Giyan's grave. He was relieved to see Mesha's reaction, he was no longer as hysterical as before.

"Good! This is the Mesha I know!" zafia exclaims when Mesha is completely calm when he sets out where Giyan is buried.

"Sha, sorry .. I can't keep you company anymore as usual. Maybe, in a moment, I'm getting busy preparing for college" Zafia said.

The two of them had already returned from the funeral, and were sitting on the porch of the house.

"Yes, Fi. I don't want to burden you. Sorry, for some time now, I've made you come to this house a lot" Mesha said.

"Ah, that. You're my friend, it's appropriate that I be by your side and support you" said Zafia, hugging Mesha's shoulder.

"Thank you, Fi!"

The sky began to blaze with vines, and the birds flew back to the nest. However, two women of that age, still sitting enjoying the comfort of the afternoon air and a tinge of orange color on the horizon.

"Stay strong, Sha!" sela Zafia breaks the silence created.

Mesha smiled and nodded.
