The Story of Sigma Men

The Story of Sigma Men
35. Toxins

~ Janglah waiting for a better and better person in your eyes to be present to you. But make yourself so good in the eyes of others that others will be present and waiting for you.

Zahid did not know the intent of Susan who suddenly chatted to him. That night Zahid went around in the Kuto Besak Fortress area. He's looking for Susan.

Soon Zahid saw a faint wave of Susan's hand. In the middle of the dim wrapped night Susan really looks charming.

The pitch blackness did not negate the beautiful face of the woman. Pinched nose. Her hair was long. The woman was wearing a green t-shirt with a striped motif.

Zahid swerved in the crowd. Cool is his identity. Cold and mysterious most people judge it.

He swung his leg right at the woman he had guessed was Susan.

As usual, with a fresh countenance, he displayed his cold demeanor. Both of his hands were in his pocket.

His sight slammed far away. She seemed to speak with a gust of wind, whereas nearby Susan looked at her filled with awe.

They run in parallel circuits. Susan is ahead. Zahid who was tailing from earlier showed a face that wondered, what was it that Susan suddenly told him to come to BKB for no apparent reason?

“Mana Sharif?”

“No idea, Zahid. Probably at his kost.”

“I thought you were both with him.”

On the outskirts of Plaza BKB there are many tek-tek noodle sellers lined up. They also sell food and soft drinks.

If you want to make a relationship as if patented, in BKB there is a place to make a ring that people can carve his name and partner in the ring.

What is more exciting in Plaza BKB is when there is a Night Market. A place that is not much different from the vast soccer field it becomes full of spilled oceans of people.

Pas it's crowded with people who sell, such as selling clothes, shoes, hats, belts, wallets, various jewelry accessories, everything related to mobile, culinary, confectionery, boiled beans, beans, football posters, and more.

At the Night Market there is also the Ghost House, a means where for men who are difficult to get a hug from his girlfriend, can make the place as his suggestion.

But not for brave women and not for shirk women. Unfortunately, there was no Night Market. The atmosphere is almost empty. However, quite a lot of people who enjoy a night in the beloved city of Palembang BARI.

They both sat on the outskirts of Plaza BKB. In front of them lies the Musi River that is flowing, like the dynamics of this mortal life.

The whispering wind quenched the silence. The falling moonlight broke the darkness of the night, until the dim present lurked.

Beautiful dimaram is served through the lanterns that adorn the Fort Kuto Besak. The stargazers who seemed to be scattered in the sky marked by rain were not invited to tonight's event.

“Mie is wet or dry?” soft Susan's bargain.

“As far as you are. But the spicy.”

Susan shouted at Mang Maman.

They sat shoulder-to-shoulder while enjoying the smell of a cool, soothing night. There was only one distance between them.

Right in front of them, across the street, is Kampung Kapitan. The location is no less exotic when compared to BKB.

In the past, and until now, Kapiten– Village which still includes the Seven Ulu– area is mostly filled by citizens of Chinese descent.

While far to his left is the settlement of people of Arab descent, which the Palembang people call “Ayib”.

It was in the area of Eleven Ulu that Uzlah lived.

“If Syarif knows, how?” ask Zahid.

“Just relax,” replied Susan coldly.

“What do you want to say, Susan? Looks like important.”

“Actually I'm embarrassed to talk to you. But yeah how else? Thank you for the incident the other day.”

“Which one?” ask Zahid curiously.

“It... about line.”

Zahid stared at the river. He thought, forcing his memory. And he remembered.

“Oh, the,” says Zahid. “Ya, back love.”

Two tek-tek noodles their order delivered. They began to enjoy the steady food fit again warm.

They flinch during meals.

They occasionally cast a glance towards the Ampera Bridge. The lights that illuminated him formed a line, and described his invisible construction due to the darkness of the night.

It was an entertaining spectacle.

Zahid did not take a heart for Susan. The atmosphere of his soul niche was just ordinary. He was more silent, gazing at the stream of water, raising his face to the sky, looking at his own feet, preoccupied with his own thoughts, tidying up his hair, sighing, and other insignificant actions. So satisfied at that time, he asked himself to buy cigarettes.

“Why silent?” ask Susan.

He actually didn't want to come. He thought it was an important thing, it turned out to just sit around while eating tek-tek noodles.

“You happy physics?”

“Ssttt... huuuuuuuu... yes....”.

The smoke from the cigarette was followed by the word Zahid said.

“Kok can like? What's reason?”

“That's. Random dominant heart frequency. Like intuition, sometimes just pops up.”

And one of the night phenomena in Plaza BKB is the number of buskers who roam.

In between the wind whirring came the vibrations of the strings. The busker sang a song that was like the littering of alay children.

After chanting the full song, Zahid was asked for payment by the busker. And Zahid with his cold attitude as if he did not care. His face could not be reached by the guard.

After his indifference went for a few seconds, Zahid thought the busker had gone far from his throne.

He breathed a sigh of relief. The dime still survives, as well as the paper money, still neatly arranged in the wallet.

She felt safe from being trapped, while Susan was apathetic.

“Eheemm... uhhuukk... uhhuukk.”.

The sound of nature's calling crept in Zahid's ear. The intonation vibration with the meaning of a reprimand was precisely coming from behind his back.

That moment as well his memory was overflowing. He felt no stranger to that tone of voice. The voice was a busking voice that ten seconds ago said, “Kak... Brother...excuse me..”.

Zahid shrugged his shoulders and scratched his head. At least, she felt bad for Susan.

Susan would have thought it was stingy. At once he also tried to convince Susan, as well as jaim tricks.

Zahid looked back. Before that there was a little gimmick. He put on a facial expression that would please the busker as much as possible.

After all, the buskers are also human.

It had been more than ten seconds the busker was waiting for the kindness of the man who was sitting together with a beautiful woman. Zahid sighed for a moment. He turned his face to the busker as cheerfully as he could, and, a sense of apology.

Then he sent her a charming smile. Plus he also waved his palm, as if saying the number five.

But, pengamen– who is far from handsome–it replied with a face full of disappointment.

The dipping eyebrows and the fierce eyes from it really signified his frustration. Then he got out of that place.

Zahid was worried for the arrival of the next busker.

Meanwhile, Susan was engrossed in shaking her legs, flapping the wind.

His hands were busy slapping the dirty air from the puff of cigarette smoke. Zahid was forced to become a steam-powered train.

Blowing for the gust he emits. Those dangerous toxins are an overflow of his feelings.

“I've never seen you smoke while on campus.”

“If you are upset and disappointed, I smoke,” complained Zahid ketus.

“Means now...”.

“You're not happy with the guy smoker?”

“Obviously I hate same guys smoker.”

“If the smoker is handsome like Sharif, how?”

“Emmm.. Anyway I hate.”

Soon after, Zahid turned off his cigarette.

“Do not smoke, you judge someone is depraved. Many stupid questions from women, ‘You prefer me or a cigarette?’ Really it is the most stupid and unreasonable question,” said Zahid.

“Indeed why?”

“What is the relationship between a cigarette and a woman? Women have much more self-esteem. Plus the woman is a living being, and noble. If indeed the woman is not happy to see a male smoker, it must be advised wisely. Must be taught the right, with love. Don't immediately be sentenced to depraved and bastard.”

“I didn't convict like that.”

“I didn't say that you were the woman.”
