CHAPTER 78. ROTTEN PLAN

“About when will we do the engagement?” ask a woman named Winda to Andini. This afternoon the two families met at a restaurant in a five-star hotel.

“How about getting married. They both have grown up and have agreed.” said Andini turned to Rico and Iva who were sitting next to each other. Rico's face was lethargic and expressionless, he didn't even respond to the girl sitting next to him.

The two women seemed enthusiastic about their son's matchmaking.  Men listen without much talking. Weren't the wives who are more knowledgeable about wedding preparations.

“We ask our husband's opinion,” said Winda glanced at her husband who immediately agreed. Baratha doesn't say much, she agrees that her only daughter is being betrothed to Rico because she knows that she likes him.

“It seems like there is no problem. So we can start preparing everything,” Andini said enthusiastically as she looked at Iva who was looking down shyly and occasionally glanced at the man sitting next to her with an enchanted look.  He has loved Rico for a long time. Now her dream of becoming Rico's wife will be achieved unknowingly if she falls into their trap.

‘Finally my idea to match them was accepted as well. After Rico marries the girl, I'll make sure she takes over Baratha's company.  That way my son will be on par with Verrel.  I want him to scream happy, because he succeeded with the matchmaking plan.

“Good. Later contact me if you are not busy, so we can start preparing everything.” said Andini excited so that all can be done quickly.

The meal went well, only the two women spoke and their laughter occasionally sounded.  While Rico and Iva were silent to each other, even though Iva who was dressed in beautiful clothes and sat next to Rico but not a bit of Rico turned his head or talked to him, his mind was still chaotic.  Iva who always glanced at the handsome face of Rico who really attracted his attention.

Rico just kept quiet without giving a rejection, he did not focus on what was going on around him and why he was there.  Finally the meeting was over.  The two women also set the agenda for wedding dates and others.

Pleased? Of course Andini is happy and a smile never leaves his face.  All his plans are getting smoother to get close and get into the Baratha family.  But after they get home, Rico realizes that he has been betrothed and the wedding will be held in the near future.

“Ma, I don't want to marry Iva. I've told you over and over again that I'm only going to marry my lover!” said Rico in a tinge.

“What? You still dare to fight mama? Is there only your cheap lover in your brain? If he's your lover, why would he betray, he's just after the damn kid's treasure!”

“Enough, Ma! Mama should have supported me, not even opposed and betrothed me to a woman I didn't love.”

“LOVE? Love you say? What can you get from love ha?” andini's emotions were mounting, usually his favorite son was always according to all his will but now Rico always denied it.

“So you will still choose that cheap woman over mama, yes?” exclaim Andini with a high tone.  His face flushed red as emotions began to overwhelm him. “What is this that cheap lady taught you? Against mom, yes?”

Amran who had just entered the house and heard a noise immediately approached his wife.

“Why get angry, ma?” tanya Amran is full of gentleness.  He immediately hugged his favorite wife who was sobbing.

“Rico. He was against mama,” he said while stomping his two temples.

Amran immediately turned his eyes on his son “Rico?”

Rico would lose every time his papa called out to him in his soft voice.

“RICO!” yell andini angry.

“I'm sorry ma, I can only marry the woman I love.  Like a mama who was willing to fight to snatch papa from Mama Ayu, Rico will do the same, for the sake of the person I love.  So please don't force me.”

Andini felt stuck with the words of her son. His face was getting red, never his son was against him all this time but because of the woman who had even become his wife Verrel, triggering a great quarrel and messing with his family.

“I never asked Mom and Dad anything. This time Rico asked that you two support me.  Let me be with him, support me to reclaim it,” reply rico that made the two husbands and wives tensed up.

Amran pinched his forehead, he was completely dizzy with all the events that had plagued his family lately.  He was in a misguided position but as a head of the family, he wanted to mediate and save his family. How can this happen again, his two sons are feuding over a woman.

“Listen papa. You can't act rashly.  If you want to take it, then you have to destroy Verrel first.”

“I mean papa?” ask Rico.

“If Verrel is destroyed and has nothing, you can take the woman but if she still has power, how do you want to take her? Do you have money and power?”

“Then, what should I do, Pa?” ask him to Amran.

“You marry Iva.  Once you're legally her husband, Mr. Baratha will hand over the company to you.  Once you have the power then you can destroy Verrel through his business.  Papa, sure the woman will leave Verrel if she is already broke.”

Rico paused for a moment and thought.  ‘Married Iva? He walked back and forth while thinking about his papa's idea.  Andini smiled cunningly at her husband's brilliant idea. Rico frowned, then looked at his papa.

“It looks like papa's idea is good too. But that means Deandra's gonna be my second wife? I don't want to be like that, Pa?”

“Basic stupid boy!” andini said as her index finger pointed at Rico. “You don't have to think about that. She must have wanted to be a second wife rather than survive when her husband was bankrupt. Aye?”

“After all, you can get rid of Iva if all of Baratha's wealth has been controlled.  Easy, right? “

The three people were busy strategizing to smooth out their plans. Andini, who was impatient to enjoy the wealth of Baratha and see the destruction of the Ceyhan family, seemed excited to give direction and plan. In his heart he did not want deandra to be his daughter-in-law at all, but in order to carry out his plan, he was forced to approve Rico.  ‘I will get rid of the woman later, if everything is in my hands, he murmured in his heart.’

Rico with a disheveled and messy face pushed open the door of his room and closed it.  His footsteps felt heavy approaching his bed and then spread his body. Staring at the ceiling of the room while thinking about all the words of papa and his mother.  Rico is silent and frozen to receive a matchmaking plan that will be implemented within a week.

'How could I get married so soon. Aweek? What will Deandra react to if I get married? Will he take me back later?

'Arrggg. What my mom and dad said was right. I can divorce Iva later and Deandra is the only woman in my life. If he refuses me, I'll force him to do whatever I have to do, if I have to, I'll do something that won't let him run away from me.

Tired of his thoughts and sleepless from partying with his friends, he ends up fast asleep bringing all his dreams and plans to dreamland.
