Ayumi is still awake in her sleep, after last night's nightmares scared her and can't go back to sleep.
Hordeng in the room opened and opened the bedroom window. Morning Eve is so fresh with the aroma of the typical morning dew pierce the nasal cavity to continue to take a deep breath.
It looks like Grandma Arsy is sweeping the yard. Her sweat had filled Grandma Arsy's entire old face.
Ayumi went out of her room and approached Grandma Arsy.
"Where are Mom and Dad?" ayumi asked quietly by taking over the broom from Grandma Arsy's hand.
Arsy's grandmother gasped loudly enough to hear Ayumi's question so innocently.
"Father and Mother are complaining about the fate of Ayumi. Maybe for some time, Ayumi was with Grandma here and continued to school here," replied Grandma Arsy slowly.
"Mrs Arsy!! Grandma!!" a young man called out to Grandma Arsy.
A young man ran towards Grandma Arsy's yard and ran up to Grandma Arsy and Ayumi who were standing right next to him.
"What is Kahfi?" granny Arsy said softly to the young man.
"Annu .. That .. Mr. Bayu, Grandma. Mr Bayu's in an accident!" said the young man in panic and stuttered.
"Slow Nak Kahfu. Say it slowly, what do you mean?" said Grandma Arsy quietly as she rubbed the young man's back gently.
Seemed exhausted from running. The boy was named Kahfi. The youngest son of one of the most famous Kyai in his village.
"nek Arsys. You just got the news that Pak Bayu and Bu Alisha had an accident, while on a ship that will cross the island destination of Bali," said Kahfi slowly with stammering.
"Dad!! Mother!!" yelled Ayumi very loudly.
A glimpse of the dream image last night seemed to be dancing back in his mind. Ayumi threw the broom she still held. Her tears had just soaked her cheeks.
Ayumi ran towards the house and went inside her room, the door of the room was closed with a slam. Hysterical screams enveloped the restroom.
"Why!! Why should Ayumi be experiencing this. Why not another, God. Can Ayumi shout and be angry with you, Oh God?" yelled Ayumi who was getting hysterical.
Granny Arsy and Kahfi run after Ayumi to the room. The door to the room was deliberately opened violently by Kahfi. Grandma immediately ran to hug Ayumi very tightly.
Ayumi returned the Grandma's embrace seeking comfort in the niche of Grandma's neck.
Kahfi saw that both of them were very pitying. His feelings were moved to help these two women to smile again.
"Grandma, Kahfi go home first. Later let you take care of everything" said Kahfi politely.
Granny Arsy just glanced at a glance and nodded her head in agreement.
Kahfi returned to her home with her thoughts fixed on Ayumi. Ayumi the meek girl, ayu and sholehah-looking had now disturbed her mind.
"Kahfi, the sad news has you told Grandma Arsy?" kyai Toha asked Kahfi his youngest child.
"Already Sir. They both cried, and Kahfi was confused what to do? Not having the heart to see the sadness they experienced like that" said Kahfi explained to his Father.
Ayumi's shadow continued to dance in Kahfi's mind since then.
'What this feeling actually is, as it is not usually. Seeing beautiful women is normal for Kahfi, but this girl is like different, ' he said in his heart.
"Afnan .. "call the Father to his eldest son Afnan.
"Yes Sir. What's up?" ask Afnan softly and politely.
"Alright Sir. Afnan said to accompany Grandma Arsy there," said Afnan slowly.
Kahfi simply fell silent and looked at the Father, hoping that he too would be told to accompany Grandma Arsy's family.
"Kahfi, how's your school?" kyai Toha asked firmly.
"Well sir." replied Kahfi very slowly.
Both of his hands clenched quite tightly. School and living in Pesantren is a dream of Kahfi since long ago. Kahfi has quite noble ideals, wanting to become Kyai like his father.
"Don't forget your words Kahfi. You can definitely become a Hafidz Qur'an" said Kyai Toha with great enthusiasm.
"Call for Kahfi Pak. Sir, there's something Kahfi wants to talk about" Kahfi said slowly with a bit of nervousness.
"Whatis that? Say my son" Kyai Toha said slowly.
While somewhere else. At the residence of Grandma Arsy, many people come to mourn the death of Bayu and Alisha in a ship accident.
His body has not been found, but it is certain that all the crew and passengers died.
Ayumi was still stuck on her two legs that were bent. Sometimes his face was buried near his feet. His cries were still heard even if it was just a hiccup.
"Beautiful girl, eat first huh?" said Afnan who had brought a bowl of porridge and sweet warm tea for Ayumi.
Ayumi did not answer Afnan's question. Glancing no, even throwing your face out the window.
Afnan tried to get closer and put a bowl of porridge and a glass of warm tea on the nightstand. Then sit on the bed near Ayumi who was still crying.
"How can your parents be happy if the girls cry like this, said Afnan slowly and took the duck dolls around Ayumi.
Ayumi remained silent and did not comment on Afnan's remarks at all.
"Ayumi, eat yuk? Big brother bribe, will ya?" said Afnan with a voice similar to a duck and brought the duck doll closer to Ayumi.
"Please go, leave Ayumi alone!" ayumi replied very softly. His energy was up to cry. His stomach also began to protest asking to be filled with porridge that smelled very good from the bowl that Afnan brought.
"Keep gone, it's her stomach ringing. Don't want to eat?" afnan asked softly teasing Ayumi who was clearly hungry.
Ayumi glanced towards the porridge bowl on the nightstand. Can only swallow his saliva.
"Eat ya?" said Afnan while taking a bowl of porridge from the top of the nightstand.
Afnan stirred the porridge in a bowl and then spooned the porridge to feed to Ayumi.
"Eat ya?" said Afnan repeated his words and brought the spoon closer to Ayumi's lips.
Shamelessly Ayumi had already opened her mouth to receive a mouthful of porridge from Afnan. His stomach was already really hungry, his head was also a little dizzy from tired of crying.
Every bribe after bribe, Afnan gives advice and motivation for Ayumi to keep the spirit of living her life later.
"Your name is Ayumi? Beautiful name like the person," said Afnan slowly and looked at the eyes of Ayumi who was still swollen because of crying all day.
"Whose brother?" ayumi asked slowly returning Afnan's gaze. The last bribe closed their conversation which made Ayumi curious about Afnan.
"Remember the message Brother. Do not lament what is God's destiny" Afnan said briefly and gave a glass of warm sweet tea to Ayumi.
Ayumi received the glass and sipped the warm sweet tea. Ayumi's smile expanded as Afnan stared at Ayumi without blinking.
