...THE EPILOGUE OF LOST IN NIGHTMARE...
The Porsche Panamera travels at normal speed in the middle of a quiet road like the owner of the road. The subtle, almost inaudible buzz of the machine echoed to the surroundings it passed through. Porsche Panamera was headed towards his home.
Rizal sat on the steering wheel casually. He felt bored because only he was still awake. Occasionally he glanced at Jihan who was still unconscious next to him, maybe he hit her on the nape too hard. Rizal's onyx eyes wandered around to look around, there was nothing. Checking the entire rearview mirror and accidentally his eyes caught some of Sakura's luggage in the second row of the car.
A thought crossed his brain. Ah, it's appropriate that Jihan didn't see Kurnia's body in the trunk.
Then his eyes turned towards a digital clock located on the dashboard beside the steering wheel. The clock shows four o'clock past thirteen minutes. Soon the sun will fall, he thought to himself.
The longer he remained silent, the more saturation he felt. Because he could not stand the silence, he entered the speed of the car at the sixth speed and deepened the accelerator in his right foot so that the Porsche Panamera shot with above average speed. Looks like Rizal wants to be in his comfortable home soon.
Rizal's trip to his house is decorated with views of the sunrise from the east. The sky slowly turned itself into a bright blue color. When the sun had come out completely from his hiding place, slowly but surely the road that Rizal passed since then was increasingly crowded. It is time for humans to do their daily activities.
Two more hours have passed, in the end the Porsche Panamera was arrived in front of the gate of his house. It did not take long to wait for the gate to open and two gatekeepers who had just opened the gate for him were seen.
"Welcome, Young Master!" the two guards exclaimed simultaneously as they moved their right hand forming a respectful attitude.
Before Rizal ran a Porsche into the yard, he took the time to open the window and said to one of the gatekeepers with a small smile, "Thank you for looking after the house."
Seeing the Host smile, the two corners of the gatekeeper's lips were drawn in involuntarily. "Thank you, sir!" he shouted while hoping that the Young Master who had darted into the yard of the house heard it even a little.
Rizal stopped his car right in front of the main door of his house. Shortly after, a housekeeper who was in charge of guarding the front door of the house opened the car door for him.
"Welcome back, Young Master!"
Rizal set his foot on the ground, removing himself from the car that bored him. "Hn," his response was brief as he walked towards the opposite car door to him.
Rizal's actions left the servants who were around him confused. "Young Master, what are you doing?"
Rizal's right hand opened the car door next to the steering wheel. He lifted Jihan— who was still unconscious— out of the car with both of his sturdy arms. It can be seen clearly Jihan drooping down there.
The waiter who had just opened the door of Rizal's car blinked his eyes many times, confirming what he saw. "Miss Jihan?" he said he didn't believe. "Young Master, what has happened to Miss Jihan?"
Hearing a question from one of his servants, Sasuke immediately stared at him. "It's okay, he's just asleep." Rizal gave the servant a code with a slight movement of his head. "Go."
Rizal's command made the servant bend his body as deep as possible quickly. "I'm sorry for meddling too much in your affairs. Excuse me." Then he left Rizal and Jihan on his arm.
Rizal's head turned towards someone who was standing right in front of the main entrance of the residence. "Love, you can come here now."
The female servant also walked towards Rizal who had given a sentence of instructions to approach. "Welcome back, Young Master! How was your holiday there? Was fun?" asked the maid whose full name was Cintia Wulandari, smiling widely. Sinta was the only female servant in this residence and dressed like any other man.
"Stop making small talk" said Rizal. Then he commanded the maid, "Put Kurnia's body into the body bag I gave you a few days ago before I left the house."
Without confronting Rizal first, Sinta heads to Rizal's steering door to press the car's trunk opening button. After that, he led to the back of the car and opened the only door there. Look at the body of Kurnia who has paled there. Liveless.
"Young Master," called Sinta as she bent her head towards Rizal who was still watching Sinta's movements where she stood, "do you really do the plan you have designed?"
Rizal pulled one corner of his lips. "You think?" After saying one word that he thought was an answer to Sinta, Rizal began to step foot into the house. "Do what you have to do before you call the others to bring all the things in the car to my room."
Sinta sighed softly. "Alright, Young Master," he replied with a smile. He closed the trunk of the car that had been opened with a tight fit, then he held his hands in the air and clapped them twice.
"Open door! Young Master has returned!" scream Sinta with a loud voice.
The door of the house was wide open followed by the sound of Rizal's welcome home from the servants in the house there. Rizal's back disappeared from view when the door of his residence was tightly closed.
Sinta again opened the trunk of the Porsche Panamera in front of him. One of his hands moved to grab the glove inside his pants pocket and immediately he put it on both hands.
"Alright, now it's my turn to carry out the duties of the Young Master."
...+++~Lost~++...
Rizal opened his eyes from the subconscious that had mastered him. He kept silent for a moment by looking at the ceiling of his room, gathering his consciousness that had spread as he fell asleep earlier. After feeling he had better, his head was turned to the right to check the condition of someone who had always felt for that person he was quiet. Jehan.
It looks like Jihan is sleeping fast, it is all seen from how Jihan breathes and the position of Jihan that has not changed from Rizal to lay her on the bed until now.
Feeling attracted by Jihan's sleeping face, Rizal tilted his body towards his female best friend. His dark Onyx traced Jihan's face; forehead, cheeks, nose, everything. His left hand was free to move to get rid of the hairdo that covered Jihan's pretty face. After finishing, Rizal looked back at Jihan. And he was ready to accept various reactions from Jihan when he realized later.
Shortly after, a shrill voice coming from Jihan's vocal cords sounded in Rizal's ears. With Rizal's own eyes, though, she watched as Jihan's eyelids slowly opened and winked a few times until her iris-emerald look focused and got used to the sunlight penetrating through the glass from outside.
"Where am I?" jihan asked weakly with a disjointed tone.
Feeling that someone was watching him from his left, Jihan turned her head towards the source of the view. As his green eyes caught Rizal watching him, instantly the tragic scene that happened in the previous villa kept popping up from the beginning until the end his eyes saw. The sound of speech, crying, anger, and shouting sounded very clearly in his ears. Jihan immediately remembered what had happened.
Rizal is the killer.
Quickly, Jihan woke herself up from a sleeping position and was about to move out of place. But what power, Rizal's burly hand moves faster than what Jihan's body reacts to.
"Jihan, don't leave me, '" pinta Rizal. He looked at Jihan with deep meaning.
Jihan flicked her wrist that Rizal had managed to grasp. "Take me off, Zal!"
Rizal's grip tightened. "Please, I'll explain everything, so stay here."
Hearing Rizal's clear voice like that, made Jihan's heart soften. An unbearable feeling enveloped him. Finally, he chose to stay in his sitting position.
Rizal changed his sleeping position to a sitting position while still holding tightly to Jihan's hand. Prevent Jihan from escaping from her side. His onyx iris caught Jihan closing her eyes while linking her eyebrows together, as if Jihan was thinking hard about what she was going to say.
"Why?" A question came out of Jihan's tiny lips. "Why are you doing all this, Zal? What's their fault?"
Already Rizal guessed he would ask like that. "I killed Novi and Fitri because they would harm you, while I killed Joints and Kurnia because they had the same feelings as me for you."
There was no strand of words coming out from the mouth of the girl before him, it seemed as if she was digesting what Rizal had told her. Just as Jihan opened her mouth to say something, suddenly Rizal cut her off, "I can't tell you how I did it because it would be a long story. I promise someday if you ask me one by one I'll tell you as much as I can."
Okay, now Jihan feels that Rizal has the ability to read her mind. Suddenly, a thought about the last room flashed through Jihan's mind. "Then, what about the last room that the Chief Servant told me about? Is that what you did too?"
Rizal gasped at Jihan's question, he did not expect that Jihan had managed to utter the key words to make Rizal explain deeply to him. And to avoid the deep suspicion of Jihan who was watching Rizal's expression through her two jade eyes, it seemed like Rizal had to willingly speak at length.
Rizal's eyes turned elsewhere to prepare himself, then looked back at Jihan in no time. "No. Twenty-three years ago it was true."
Jihan was astonished to hear Rizal's words and did not respond at all to the answer that Rizal had given the same meaning as Jihan waiting for the continuation of the explanation from him.
"Twenty-three years ago about a family that died in such a terrible way in that last room did happen before we were born. The fear of guilt and the thought of how one day his disgrace was caught in public haunts them. Deni's subordinates slowly have a psychological oddity as time goes on and are resolved by killing themselves and killing each other, until in the end only Deni still survive with logical thoughts in his brain. Deni continued to hide what had really happened in the villa to the new employees he received from year to year, until he arrives where he must tell the tragic incident in front of all his employees and all of us."
It's ironic, that's how Jihan feels now. Somehow his heart felt sorry for the last room. He still chose to remain silent to listen to what Rizal would say next. However, a hint of incongruity struck his mind, causing him to be compelled to express his question.
"Where do you know that Deni's previous subordinates had a psychological disorder?"
Jihan's question caused Rizal—'s grin that he had been holding back so as not to come out— appeared to the surface. "Because before Deni told you about it, I was told by him before I killed Novi." Rizal's grin grew sharper. "And the tragedy of that last room was an opportunity for me to play the story inside."
Rizal's sharp sneer made Jihan shudder in horror and was about to escape, but that was impossible because Rizal's hand was still faithfully grasping his wrist. Finally all he could do was wait for Rizal to continue his words.
"I outsmarted the story twenty-three years ago by combining it with a plan that I had designed in such a way before we went to the villa. As a result, all the enemy weapons that I had used turned to attack him."
Rizal laughed a little. "He also felt that all the dead spirits came back to terrorize him and confirm to everyone before he ended his own life in a sickening and unethical way." Instantly Rizal's grin disappeared and changed with a serious facial expression. "And I feel that Deni had planned before his death he should reveal all his faults and bestow them upon us who are left."
Now Jihan is in the middle of a concern between whether she should stay away from Rizal or stay by his side. He doesn't know, he's confused.
The grip of Rizal's hand that moved from his wrist to his hand made Jihan aware of all the fatigue she was thinking about. Next to Rizal the other hand pulled down the limp hands of Jihan next to him, then he put the two hands of Jihan in his hand and tightened them with both hands. It is like asking for something from the heart.
"Please, don't leave me. Stay by my side because now you are the only one I have in this world. I know, I'm guilty of killing all four of my friends, but it's for you and me." Onyx Rizal dives deeper into the emerald Jihan. "After my parents and brother are gone, are you going to leave me alone, Jihan?"
Pity envelops Jihan. Rizal's last sentence was able to break through the defensive fortress he had made. The words reminded her of the loneliness of a Rizal who still needed affection when left for dead by his family members a few years ago. With a swift, Jihan immediately hugged Rizal's nape and it made Rizal gasp.
"I'm not leaving you, Zal. Thank you for killing them for my sake" Jihan said as she shed her tears on Rizal's shoulder.
Hearing the words of thanks out of Jihan's mouth, Rizal immediately returned Jihan's embrace by wrapping his embrace on Jihan's small body. "Thank you and you're together."
After saying a reply to Jihan's sentence, Rizal's sharp grin curved back strategically on his handsome face.
Rizal, are you satisfied that you have got Jihan in your arms and held onto her weakness?
...+++~Lost~++...
ITB is now shrouded in deep sorrow because it has been abandoned by friends, friends, children, and students at the university. The deepest sorrow is felt by parents from Novi, Jendi, Fitri, Sandi, and Kurnia.
Rizal and Jihan are sitting in the family row considering they are the closest friends of the five victims. The powerless Jihan held back her cries so that her cries broke, whereas Rizal could only close her mouth and stare at the five photos that were plastered in front of them.
The flower giving event began from the ranks of the most grieving families. After all the parents have given the last gift to their children, now it is Rizal and Jihan's turn in turn.
Jihan put flowers with trembling hands because of her unstoppable sadness, regret because this had all happened to rule her. If only he managed to direct his friends to not go to such a faraway place, maybe Rizal would not have had time to launch his crazy plan.
And now it's Rizal's turn, he put flowers in every photo with the same flat face. Except when he was right standing in front of a photo of Kurnia with his signature grin. Thank you for being born my best friend, Kur, he said in his heart.
His eyes began to be quiet with tears soaking his eyes, but he quickly blinked to prevent the water from multiplying. Rizal put a flower in front of the picture of his best friend and said, "I'm sorry, Kurnia... Sorry."
After undergoing two hours of mourning session, in the end Rizal and Jihan also say goodbye to the parents of the victims and arrived at the time where they faced both parents Kurnia and her sister, Nugraha. There was nothing different from Kurnia from her sister, all that distinguished the two of them was her rather wild nature and her black hair.
Rizal bent his body in front of both parents Kurnia—more precisely in front of Kurnia's father considering the mother was in severe shock accompanied by Nugraha. "I'm sorry, Uncle. I—" Before Rizal finished his sentence, he suddenly felt someone's hand gently stroking his head. Rizal straightened his body to see who owned the hand. Kurnia's Dad.
"There is no need to apologize, seeing that there are still remaining victims of the violence of the servants, that is, we are happy because we still have eyewitnesses" Kurnia's father said with a soft, but sad look.
"Yes, we are both ready to be called as eyewitnesses" said Rizal steady. Rizal's eyes glanced at Jihan who was next to him and answered a nod by her.
Kurnia's father snorted withholding laughter. "You have not changed."
Kurnia's father's comments were responded to with friendly smiles from Rizal and Jihan. "Then we go home first, Uncle," said Rizal as he pulled Jihan's hand away from the father of Kurnia.
Kurnia's father could only wave his hand until the two friends of his eldest son were getting away from them. "Thank you for being my son's best friend, Rizal, Jihan." And he went from where he stood to where his wife and youngest child— who had become the only child of—it was.
When Rizal and Jihan were already in the car. Rizal's hand moved to start the car engine and immediately stepped on the gas pedal to his house. It does not take half an hour to get to his house because the distance from campus to his residence is arguably not too far away.
Rizal and Jihan get out of the car when they get to the door. Jihan raised her head to look at the gray sky with black clouds hanging over the horizon.
"It looks like it's going to rain" Jihan murmured in a small voice but could still be heard by Rizal.
The young man noticed for a moment Jihan who was entrusted by her parents to Rizal because she wanted to move abroad. Actually, Rizal himself begged Jihan's parents to keep her from going from his side and leaving her. Since Jihan's parents have believed in Rizal who always took care of Jihan—, who since birth was indeed weak, finally Rizal was given confidence by both parents to take care of the daughter only wayangnya. Well, this incident had already passed the day before the last tribute ceremony they had just passed.
Rizal followed the direction of Jihan's gaze which was still staring at the free sky which was not as bright as the previous day. It seems that the sky is also saddened by the departure of his five other friends. "Well... Looks like it's going to rain. Come on, let's go in."
The two survivors—at least according to the results of the police trial—it went hand in hand into the house. They climbed the stairs after answering the greetings of the house servants who welcomed their return. Before they turn to the other stairs. A painting dominated by the dark color attracted the attention of both of them.
Jihan let out a tone of astonishment. "When has this painting been here? And..." Jihan looked back at every detail of the painting's coloring and pattern, "why it looks creepy."
Several hypotheses emerged from Rizal's brain that had taken his eyes off the painting. Think hard. And there is only one conclusion he came to.
They're back.
Iris emerald Jihan who was still constantly looking without the dullness of strange paintings suddenly grew a little. "It's like—"
"Jihan, you'd better go back to the room first" Rizal suggested, cutting out Jihan's unfinished argument.
Jihan looked confusedly at Rizal who was already looking at her first. "Why?"
"There's work I have to do in my office."
"Oh, okay."
Before Jihan moved from where she was standing, Rizal's right hand held the back of Jihan's head kissing her for a while and replied with a short Jihan. After that, Jihan's smile expanded on her sweet face. "In that case, I'll go to the room first. Remember, don't push yourself too much" Jihan said, rushing up to her back to Rizal.
After feeling confident that Jihan had entered the room, Rizal began to call out a name firmly, "Love."
Soon the maid named Sinta walked up the stairs closer to Rizal who was still silent while staring at the painting hanging on the side of the staircase wall.
"Yes, Young Master. Is there anything I can help you with?" ask Sinta while smiling widely.
"Move this painting into my study," Rizal ordered short as he passed towards his study.
"Okay, Young Master."
Sinta immediately released the painting and took it to follow Rizal right behind him. Rizal's study room was not far from his room with Jihan. More precisely, the door of his workroom was right opposite the door of his room. Arriving in the work room, Rizal immediately sat himself in his comfortable chair behind his wide and spacious work desk. Various kinds of archives seem neatly arranged there. Looks like Jihan has tidied it up.
Sinta who was still standing on the doorstep carrying the canvas painting said, "This painting you want to put where, Young Master?"
Sinta just closed the door, suddenly the door of the workspace was opened again. There were two familiar men in Rizal's eyes. "You can come in" he said, checking documents that Jihan had prepared a few days ago. Looks like Rizal already knows who opened his door.
The two men bowed their bodies to pay their respects and said, "Welcome back to the residence, Young Master. Sorry we're late" they said at the same time.
"Eh." Rizal looked at the two men who were already standing before his eyes. "I know you're back, Indra, Rizki."
The waiter named Rizki smiled, although he wore a mask but could be caught from his shape-shifting eyes. "Well, it seems we went home with the mark on the painting, yeah."
Rizal linked his fingers to each other on the table. "So, now you can report what you did and think when I told you to be one of the servants of the villa." He is waiting for an explanation.
Rizki put both of her hands into her pants pocket. "At the time we did not feel any strangeness with the servants of the villa, but when Deni recounted all his disgrace and suicide bergitu just gripping feeling was felt by his subordinates. We can handle it because it is still at a safe level. Starting from the decision of the Young Master and the other two Young Master friends to leave the villa, their bad thoughts about how the matter of the death of the other five Young Master friends became ghosts in their minds. Because most of their minds began to be unable to think logically and decided to launch their crazy idea: kill those who remain."
"Then?" tanya Rizal charges for the continuation of the story.
"To cover that we know Young Master, we also want to not follow their madness, which is to pretend to be crazy. And if the two of us think about it again, it looks like this could set Young Master and your friend free from the alibi of the murder suspect in the villa."
Rizal digested the story already told by Rizki. His eyebrows are linked to each other. "How can you be freed from the villa case? Wasn't it when I left you were still one of those crazy waiters?"
Feeling that Rizki's part to tell was finished, Indra began to continue Rizki's words to walk further. "When we made sure you escaped and made it out of the gate of the villa that was almost closed, the, we also rushed away from the villa quietly through the back door of villa— where the car we drove when heading to the villa was— after changing all the maid clothes we were wearing with ordinary clothes. To remove the tracks, we burned the clothes.
"We went straight down the mountains to find the nearest police station and reported everything that happened in the villa when the sun came back up. A few hours after we answered all the questions the police were asking and processed the incident, the arrest of the maids finally occurred. Looks like you've seen the news on television a few days ago."
Indra's last sentence reminded the news show that showed how police arrested the servants who had gone crazy. Rizal pulled one corner of his lips. "Did Sinta manage to do her job well?"
Indra continued her long story. "Luckily Sinta managed to arrive on time before the police came to ambush the scene of the incident by carrying the body of Tuan Muda Kurnia along with his luggage."
It's not wrong to choose the maid as one of the pawns of his plan. Rizal could not imagine how fast the car was being carried by the maid.
"And the result as you know, we are all free from all alibis" Rizki continued at the end of their story.
A proud smile adorned his handsome face. Now his brain predicts what he will say if one day he is called to be a witness later and how to avoid it. After successfully arranging it neatly, Rizal also began to give orders to the two servants who were still standing in front of him, "You can go out and do your usual activities. Thanks for the interesting story."
"Yes, Young Master. Excuse me."
Their footsteps slowly moved away from Rizal's office. Leaving Rizal alone in it. Suddenly he remembered a book that he found in Jihan-Novi—'s room more precisely in a Novi— bag when in the villa a few days ago. His right hand opened his desk drawer and picked up the book that was clearly plastered there.
A collection of Psychological Tests About Love, at least that is what is written on the cover of the medium-sized book. Admittedly, this book is what makes Rizal aware that the feeling he feels for Jihan is called love.
Rizal closed the drawer of his desk and immediately got up from his chair while holding the book to show Jihan. Before he walked near the door, Rizal again saw the painting that his lover said was creepy. Well, this is a Joints relic painting that was found accidentally by him in the closet. It seems that this painting is very hidden by the creator, it is clear from how Joints put their work into a thick, faded canvas cover.
In the painting, there are five victims whose death is exactly like what was experienced by his five friends and right in the middle of it there is a girl who fell down while crying with a man who hugged her tightly with one hand from behind while kneeling with one leg, while the other hand was like hiding a sharp object covered in blood behind his back.
There is nothing scary about the painting. Rizal considered, maybe because of the coloring too much dark and red color that adds to the aura of pleasure in the painting there. The rest is ordinary.
If Rizal thinks again, it looks like Joints paintings and their stories can be used as an interesting bedtime story. Tells about the seven main characters who live in a world called Dream where all his friends are lost one by one in the creepy world. Interesting, right?
What title is suitable for this story?
Rizal turned away from the painting and went straight out of his study. When her hand held the pedal of her bedroom door where Jihan was, a sharp grin curved strategically on her lips.
"Well... The Lost In Nightmare... Not bad either."
After Rizal muttered his heart, the sound of the open and closed room door was heard to the end of the hallway of this house.
