ch. 62 strange village

After running for an hour, they finally stopped at a river, their faces pale with breaths that were still not careless. Although the rain has begun to subside but their bodies are still wet whether it is wet because of rain water or because of their sweat.

" We stop here first, I'm so exhausted right now." Xue Yun immediately knelt down and lay flat on his back near the river.

" Why did we leave, if we take advantage of the moment when the demon was injured then we can definitely kill him. Letting the demon live will be a disaster like everyone, especially the little people." WU Shen was slightly dissatisfied with Hao Tian and Xue Yun's decision to run away instead.

" Me and Xue Yun are expert warriors while you are a king swordsman I believe we can definitely defeat that bear demon." As Hao Tian fought with the bear demon, he unleashed a power equivalent to that of a king swordsman so WU Shen considered Hao Tian to be a king swordsman.

" Don't be that stupid guy WU Shen, no matter how much effort we put in, we'll never be able to defeat that demon. Never force us, we are not people from the holy god temple sect who assume that demons are creatures that must be killed."

Hao Tian knew that the holy god temple was a sect that hated demons so much, that even they would kill all the demons they encountered, even though their strength was far below that of demons yet they would continue to fight back. They will consider their deeds to be good, so even if they fall in battle against demons they will assume that they die honorably.

But according to Hao Tian it was a wrong thought, fighting against something that exceeded our own strength was foolish. Hao Tian did not want to go into a fight where the number of possible losses was higher than his victory.

After all Hao Tian did not have any problems with demons, and according to him the demon would not disturb the surrounding residents because of its territory far from the residents around here.

" Then let me go." Said WU Shen.

" What the hell is this man, whether he's too kind or too stupid, I don't understand the monks' minds at all." Said Xue Yun who was still lying on his back.

" Wouldn't it be better for us to retreat first and recover our manpower and go ask for help or pay a swordsman to help kill the demon, I think that's a better solution." Hao Tian.

Hearing Hao Tian's words, WU Shen began to think first and weigh his bad good. After a while he finally agreed with Hao Tian's opinion. " All right, I agree. But if we don't find someone who can help in a week, then please don't forbid me to go alone." Said WU Shen in seriousness.

" I agree, then we'll find a place to rest for a while. Although the rain has subsided, there is still the possibility of rain again. Plus our clothes are still wet so we have to change clothes first." Xue Yun started to wake up and give her opinion.

The two agreed with Xue Yun's opinion and then they went back to looking for a cave or other that could be used for a temporary resting place.

Not long after that they finally managed to find a small village not far from where they were before.

The two of them entered the village and intended to ask if there was any lodging in this village to the surrounding residents. But strangely the atmosphere became silent, all the activities of the people in the village stopped and instead looked at Hao Tian and the others with strange gazes.

This makes them feel uncomfortable." What's with everyone here? Why do they look at us like we're a problem for them." Said Xue Yun.

" Maybe it's because we're strangers that they're a bit wary, I used to find a village like this throughout my travels." Reply WU Shen.

" Who are you? And where are you going? Why are you going to our village." Said the man.

Hearing the words of that person who seemed disturbed by their arrival made the three confused, not knowing what to answer. Yet Hao Tian ventured to speak.

" We were traders, but we were hit by a disaster, we accidentally met with bandits on our way and our wagon was captured by them, lucky we managed to escape. After that because it was raining not long ago we intended to find a resting place and accidentally found this village. So we'd like to ask permission if we can rest here."

Hao Tian lied because he did not want to make the villagers wary of them. They just came they were already in the face with the unpleasant gazes of the villagers especially if they knew that Hao Tian and the others were warriors then it was likely that they would be expelled.

Hao Tian also coded Xue Yun and WU Shen so that they would adapt to the story.

" Are you really traders?" Said the man in front of them.

" Right uncle." Say them simultaneously.

After a while the man thought, but he finally agreed." You may stay in this village but tomorrow you must leave because we do not like foreigners in our village at all. Do you guys understand?"

" Thank you uncle for the kindness." Said WU Shen while looking down on the man.

" That's not necessary, follow me, I'll take you to a place you can temporarily occupy. I'm the village chief here so if there's anything you need or ask you can look for me."

" Thank you village chief for the help."

Soon they finally arrived at a simple wooden house. " The house is empty, so you can rest here."

" Thank you."

Then the village chief opened the door and it was seen inside the house was so dirty that even a spider was seen lodged in the ceiling of the house.

" This house has been six months no one occupied because the owner of this house has moved to the city so no one takes care of this house so it is like this."

" No this is enough for us, after all we can clean this place up quickly. Isn't that so Hao Tian, Xue Yun?" WU Shen looked at the two.

" It's true, given a place to stay we've been very grateful." Javan Hao Tian and Xue Yun could only smile even by force.

" Well then, I'll take my leave and enjoy your time. And remember early in the morning you must leave immediately." The village chief then left them and walked out of the house.
