Part 38. Ara's lies

Ara walked on the sidewalk with a mind that was out of nowhere. Rania's words last night really bothered her, and Gio's unusual attitude when he met Rania yesterday made him even more thoughtful. Ara sighed softly then glanced at the circular watch on her left wrist. The new clock shows at 7 but Ara is already walking on the sidewalk towards the office. He just wanted to enjoy his own morning today. The air is quite cool because last night it was raining heavily even the weather is still cloudy and Ara is willing to bet, it will definitely rain.

"Did Rania and Gio know each other?", Ara's monologue to himself.

"Or they've had a relationship" he said again with a foot that kept going. Not caring about the people who looked at him strangely because he was the one who spoke to himself.

"Gio never told me, but if they had anything to do with what Gio was dating for", Ara ruffled her hair slowly. His mind is still haunted by the relationship of the two people.

"Gio's beautiful morning", greet someone who has now stopped beside him.

Ara jumped in shock and looked at the person taller than her.

"You've been told to wait at home, why walk, which bike?", asked Gio in a row.

Ara was still silently staring at the neat Gio with her suit, Ara sighed softly then looked back at Gio who was now smiling thinly looking at her.

"You need to go for a walk until you pick it up, it's not hot either" said Ara smiling knot.

"Come on", take Ara who is possessed by Gio.

Gio got into the car after making sure Ara was sitting quietly in her car. Along the way Ara just silently gazing out the window made Gio a little confused by Ara's attitude that turned quiet today. After a few minutes of travel, Gio's car stopped right in the parking lot of his own company. Just as Ara was about to exit, her movement stopped when Gio's hand first held her back.

"Why, is there a problem?", asked Gio gently staring at Ara in the shade.

"No papa" answered Ara briefly.

"So, I've been quiet from earlier. I was wrong?", asked Gio rubbing Ara's cheek gently. The man's question was only answered quietly by Ara.

"If I'm wrong, say. Don't shut up because if you shut up, I won't know what the problem is" Gio said. His hand turned to grip Ara's soft hand.

"Can I ask you something ?" ask Ara carefully. Maybe by asking questions like this will make all his worries disappear and minimize misunderstandings between them that might happen. He can't be childish by choosing to be quiet and saying it's okay.

"Can, baby. What do you want?", asked Gio gently to make Ara's cheeks blush, especially the man again called the word 'honey' for her.

Ara sighed softly and then changed her position to face Gio and looked at the man who had been staring at her.

"You have a relationship with Rania?", asked Ara. "No, not that I don't believe you, but I feel like something's weird. I don't want to be reckless and end up misunderstanding us" said Ara quickly.

The corner of Gio's lips lifted into a sweet smile. It turned out that this girl was jealous until she became silent throughout the journey.

"Nothing, baby. I've never had a relationship with any woman including Rania. For me, you are first and God willing will be last too", replied Gio calmly.

"I just know him. Rania was once a friend of Gea, whether what happened to the two so distant but Rania.....",

"Like you?", cut Ara fast.

Gio's smile grew even more and more to hear Ara's words. Her hand stretched out scrambling Ara's hair slowly.

"He likes it and he pursues it, baby. I never responded to him at all. I love you and it will never change, it will forever remain that way" Gio replied pinching Ara's gnarled nose.

"Don't think about it, this is it" said Gio, pointing Ara's hand to his left chest and saying, "it will always be yours", continued Gio.

Ara's smile expanded upon hearing Gio's sweet words. He hoped Gio would stay like this no matter what.

"I believe in you" said Ara.

"Yes, I'm out. You go straight to the office" said Ara to open the door but again arrested Gio.

"What else dear?", asked Ara to make Gio a little misbehaved.

"Kiss" said Gio pointing at his cheek making Ara chuckle softly.

After that, Ara rushed down followed by a shout, "drug my boy".

Gio chuckled anxiously at Ara's behavior which really made him anxious. In the next instant, Gio's smile was gone when he remembered the girl he had met last night at his lover's house. Something was troubling him. He was afraid of Rania acting any further after this. He knows how Rania behaves. But, as hard as she could, she would always take care of her girl. That's his promise to himself.

A man in a white shirt stood in front of a large building for almost an hour. He was waiting for someone to come out of the big building. Although he knew very well what response he got, he was still desperate to wait.

The clock came home from work a few minutes ago, but the person he was looking for had not yet revealed his nose. After a few minutes, the person he had been waiting for finally arrived as well. With a sweet smile Ken greeted Ara who looked flat at him.

"What's up?", asked Ara flatly.

"Go home with yuk", ask Ken gently.

Ara looked at Ken with a stare that Ken did not understand the meaning of the gaze. While Ara thinks whether Ken has forgotten the events of yesterday and brash attitude on him even now in looks ordinary.

"I can go home alone", said Ara flat.

"Once doang Ara. I want to talk", Ken persuaded with a pleading gaze.

"I can't Ken", said Ara trying to take off her hand.

"I beg. Once this is all, after that I won't bother you anymore", Ken undauntedly continued to persuade Ara.

"Really. If you want to go home with me today, I won't ask you to come home together in the future" Ken assured Ara.

Ara paused for a moment petting out what she should do. But there's a good thing, too, after today he'll be away from Ken and probably won't see each other again. Ara sighed softly reassuringly then without a second thought, she just nodded making Ken smile happily. After all, the rain started to fall, let's not say this morning.

Ara and Ken get in the car to coincide with the arrival of Gio who is about to pick up. Gio silently looked at Ara who had chosen to go home with Ken, sighing softly trying to contain her anger. His hand gripped the car's steering force with a flat gaze staring at the car that had begun to move leaving the company area. Simultaneously, the sound of incoming messages on Gio's phone shifted the man's gaze.

Gio stared at his phone screen flat, his anger growing so when he got a message from Ara. The girl lied to him. Sighing violently, Gio drove his car to chase after Ken's car which had already left. Despite being angry, he had to make sure Ara returned home safely.

Minutes of travel, accompanied by heavy rain, his car stopped when the car he had been following turned into a cafe. Gio's forehead was made to wrinkle when he saw Ara and Ken enter the cafe. Why not just go home, Gio thought.

Gio watched the two people who got out of the car and into the restaurant from afar. After quite a while, Gio decided to leave from there. Seeing the closeness of Ken and Ara made him not want to linger there. He didn't want his anger to explode and wreak havoc in the cafe. Along with the anger that has peaked, Gio drove his car to leave the cafe. Ara lies to him, the girl lies to get home with Ken.

Meanwhile, Ara continues to curse at herself after lying to Gio. Guilt is covering him now. He's afraid Gio knows he's coming home with Ken. While the man in front of him had forced him this and that, making Ara uncomfortable by herself. For whatever sake he wants to get out of here as soon as possible.

"Let's go home", take Ara who has finished her meal.

Ken glanced at Ara who was like something hunted. "Patience of time, Ra. It's such a rush" said Ken who was still busy with his food.

"I have to go home. I have a job" said Ara quickly.

"You have a job or are you afraid of getting caught by Gio?", asked Ken with a slanted smile. Ara just kept quiet and did not reply at all.

"Gio also knew that time, you didn't see that he was following us?", asked Ken again to make Ara surprised with round eyes.

"You don't lie" said Ara in a slight panic.

"Ngapain lied. Tuh", point Ken out the window more precisely pointing to a white car that has moved away. Ara even memorized it outside the car's head.

Ara sighed harshly what she should say to Gio later. Obviously the man was angry, he was already lying. Ara cursed herself.

"Look, he won't kill you either" said Ken casually.

Ara glared in dislike at Ken who said that. What does it mean to talk like that.

"Your boyfriend is a phsyco, Kaiyara" said Ken showing a mocking face.

"You keep talking to you" said Ara.

"It's like that" said Ken.

"You know what about her?", asked Ara emotionally.

"I know more than you know" said Ken.

"I knew him a long time ago Ara", continued the man. Ken's words left Ara speechless in a thousand languages, remembering something she saw yesterday in Gio's room. Does that prove the truth of Ken's words ?.

"And that's the truth, he's a phsyco" Ken said, making Ara even more silent.

"He killed my wife and son",
