Alex looked at the sky and let out a long sigh.

An hour later at Assex Manor.

Dorothy Assex returned with a sad expression. Seeing that, Claire Assex was delighted and said arrogantly, “I told you so, right?

The courthouse opens at nine o'clock tomorrow morning. We'll file your divorce

directly."

"Nobody's getting divorced here" Dorothy said coldly.

Claire immediately jumped with both feet. “Dorothy, how fallen in love with you? Is it so good about him? Even after what he did to you? Look, I know Spark Rockefeller likes you. Let me talk to him tomorrow.”

“Mother, what's wrong with you? Did you forget what that jerk did to me?”

“At least he's better than Alex! He tricked you!" answer Claire.

Dorothy stormed upstairs without saying anything else, and she was not looking forward to— dinner.

It was seven p.m. when Dorothy received a call from Shermaine Ford.

“Lady Assex, the headquarters called saying that an important meeting will be held

tomorrow at nine in our company. The board of directors sent three of them,

and all management of the company must be present. It will be held in Conference Room No. 3 at Tower 2.”

“Understanding, thank you.”

After ending the call, Dorothy rubbed her temple in annoyance.

'Granny must be angry. I'm not going to get out of this safely. I wonder what will

happens tomorrow.’

It's nine, but Alex is still out.

He was nowhere to be seen even when the clock was showing at eleven.

Was she with the female doctor from this morning? The more he thought about it, the worse he felt.

"Where are you?" He dialed the number.

"Home home!" answer Alex.

"Yes right. Didn't I tell you there was nothing between us? I'm at home taking care of Mom."

"hold. Mom is up?”

"Yes, there is no other reason for him to stay in the hospital, therefore why we decided

to return home."

“Why didn't you tell me about it?” ask Dorothy.

Alex replied, "You gave me the boots before I could say anything."

Dorothy speechless. Why would he hide such important news from her, his own wife?

“Send your address. I'll visit Mom tomorrow.”

"Will do."

Alex is happy to hear Dorothy calling Brittany as 'Mother' instead of 'mom'.’ That was a good start.

The next day, Dorothy arrived at the conference room just as the clock was showing at nine o'clock. Ke

Calling an employee nearby, he asked, “Isn't there supposed to be a meeting here? Where's people?"

Oh, Lady Assex, I think it happened in Conference Room No. 1 in Tower 1."

"What?!"

Dorothy rushed over, calling Shermaine several times on the way there. However, her call was not raised.

Something is clearly not right.

The meeting had lasted for over half an hour when he arrived.

Anderson Assex was the host of the meeting. He rebuked Dorothy when she entered. “Dorothy Assex, how did you get late? As the GM of this branch, your delays reflect your incompetence and weakness. Obviously, you are not fit to run a company! ”

I thought you told me that it will be held in Conference Room No.3 at Tower 2 at nine in the morning?”

"No, I said at half-eight in the No.1 Conference Room here in Tower 1." Shermaine shook his head.

And he hurriedly turned his gaze to his feet. Emma Assex could be heard laughing out loud.
