Chapter 70: The Situation

Another battle with Sakumo made Ryo realize his shortcomings both mentally and in strength.

The way to go was relying on speed, and killing in a single blow. This style of killing is similar to Minato in Manga.

The main difference with Ryo was that teleportation depended on Ice, while the Flying Lightning God Minato was a space-time Ninjutsu.

Ice Ryo allowed him to teleport within 50 meters. On the other hand, the Flying Lightning God Minato had no distance restrictions. As long as he had a marked object, Minato could traverse an infinite distance. The Ice Ryo teleportation was incomparable to that.

The technique also allows Minato to go far behind enemy lines to complete the most difficult missions, while still being able to retreat at will.

After facing Sakumo, Ryo felt the need to change his fighting style.

The idea was to use "Ice Release" to condense things that worked like Kunai Minato. Like some form of tool that can be used as a teleportation marker.

With that, Ryo should be able to find the perfect position for teleportation without using the huge ice block that would give it away.

And this kind of tactic could also confuse the enemy making him think that Ryo needed a tool or a sign to teleport like Minato.

If he could refine this idea, he would maximize the mobility he gained from his Ice Element, and it would add to the flashing Lightning Cakra mode.

Ryo goes and seeks Sakumo's help to refine this idea. The latter was tired of managing the encampment, so he accepted his request.

During the following days, White Fang handed over all the camp affairs to Jiraya, and focused on helping Ryo develop his new Jutsu in the desert outside the camp.

Ryo's choice for the marker was the Ice Surgical Knife. After all, he had a lot of experience with them in this world as a medical ninja, and in his previous life as a great surgeon.

Unlike the Chakra scalpel, the new one is not sharp enough to cut through the meridians, but it is still sharp.

It is made by converting moisture in the air into ice using natural energy, then condensing the ice into a blade shape. During its production, Ryo inserts the scalpel with his own natural energy, thus making it stronger.

Ryo and Sakumo are on very different levels in terms of strength. But between his Ice-Lightning Chakra mode of flashing and his Ice-instant teleportation, Ryo's speed actually exceeded Sakumo's ability to react.

This makes Ryo able to fight properly with Sakumo. This was the first time it had happened since they started this challenge a few years ago.

While Ryo and Sakumo were training, an Aburame Ninja came shouting to them: “Sakumo san, Ryo san, Jiraya san immediately called you.”

The first thing Sakumo thought about was that Sand was supposed to move. He immediately stops fighting Ryo and Ran towards the encampment. Ryo also grabbed the Ice Surgical Knife and followed it.

“Jira! What's wrong? Is there any movement made by the sand? ” Sakumo rushed like the wind to his tent and straight to the point.

Ryo who followed him entered the tent just in time to hear Jiraya's reply.

“No, it's a village hidden in Rocks, they declared war on Konoha. Cloud Village also declared war on the two of them at the same time.” Jiraya handed a letter to Sakumo, who gave it to Ryo after he finished reading it.

"Jiraya, who's in charge of the various fronts in the house?" Sakumo did not see the messenger, so he asked Jiraya.

“Now everything in the village is handled by Sarutobi Sensei. Before that, he had already suspended Danzo and his two advisers. The number of Sand Camps exceeds the number of Konoha. And with the two Quasi-kage-level Shinobi having just arrived, the strength between the two camps was the same, and that was if Jiraya could really keep Shukaku.
