05. Rehearses

"You know? All my life, I never wanted to go to the forest to hunt. Then, why would I painstakingly practice attacking a woodman whose existence is still considered a myth?"

Kai and Ten sighed many times. Already since then they have not stopped persuading Kyo, but their efforts are still in vain. Kyo still doesn't want to practice.

"Are you that scared of the woodman myth?" ask Kai.

Kai and Ten looked at each other. They had completely run out of ways to persuade Kyo. Especially to make Kyo cry like this, making them not have the heart.

Ten rubbed Kyo's shoulder, trying to calm her down. "I understand how much you fear, Kyo. But, have you never thought about taking your fears away by becoming stronger and more courageous against them?"

"I'm afraid to imagine what they look like, how can I face them?" Kyo was still crying.

Ten draws conclusions from Kyo's words. From what Ten understood was, Kyo was afraid of the terrifying shadow of the woodman he had created himself.

Patiently, Ten continued to reply, "Then, fight the fear as you imagine them. Think of them as just a joke that happens to be a myth. Let's just say they're just like us ordinary people. Think of us as training to make you bolder and stronger. To protect yourself when danger comes later, not as a reminder of your fear of them."

Kai was flabbergasted to hear a subtle explanation from Ten, it was not wrong for Zou to send Ten here. Overcoming things like this is indeed Ten experts, the soft heart among the five of them.

Kai nodded in favor of Ten. "Kyo, what Ten said is true. I just want to add to that, Uncle Ken is already willing to train us. This is a golden opportunity for us to be stronger, why waste it? Kai issued his mainstay style, which is sulking at the end of his sentence, so that a lot of people were left with his request.

Kyo looked at those who were still fighting, "Kai, Hiro, Zou stop!"

At once their quarrel stopped and no one spoke. Seeing that Ten smiled with satisfaction. "Wait moreover? Let's practice now."

Ten's friends immediately cheered excitedly, as if forgetting what had just happened between them. "Ten," called Kyo when Kai, Hiro and Zou had gone to the place where Ten's father had placed the wooden man statue.

Ten looked, "Why?"

"So I've prepared wooden swords for you to practice with, too" continued Ken, handing out wooden swords one by one to the five children in front of him.

"Uncle Ken, so the first exercise will start from using the sword?" hiro asked curiously while receiving the wooden sword in his hand.

"Yes, why?"

"I thought the first practice would start from martial arts first" Hiro replied.

Ken laughed at Hiro's words. "It should be like that. But because this was already near noon, Uncle's time was not much because he had to leave to hunt. So today Uncle will teach you the basic sword techniques first" Ken explained.

"Are you not afraid of the woodman myth?" kai asked this.

Ken again laughed amusedly, "Why fear? Isn't that all myth?"

Ken's words were immediately taken in by everyone present.

After all received the wooden sword in each hand, Ken firmly said, "The first day's training, officially begins!"
