Ten nodded, "Right. I thought it was going to be a scarecrow at first. But it turns out as a medium I practiced attacking them."
"Practice attacking them? You mean the wooden man statue is as big as an adult? I thought it was just a little miniature" said Kai, who was a savage beaver.
"Well, that's great! I just wanted to train with you, so I could protect myself when I went hunting" exclaimed Hiro enthusiastically who invited Kai to turn his head.
"Just you? I'm also practicing!" kai's speech followed a nod of encouragement from Zou. Only Kyo was still silent. Maybe he's still scared.
"Well, then I'll tell Dad to train you guys too, tomorrow's playtime we use to practice how?" tanya Ten proposed her idea. Since it was impossible for them to leave work after practice, so the only way was to change their playing time into practice time.
"I agree! So it has been decided that tomorrow we go straight to your house once our work is done" said Kai unilaterally. Because no one was arguing, so Kai thought everyone agreed.
"Oh, yeah. By the way, I still remember what you said, Ten. You said it was because the statue was big, so you thought it would be used for a scarecrow right? What is a scarecrow, and what is it for?" asked Zou, actually rather than practicing to protect himself while hunting, he was more interested in the business of farming which had been his main job.
Ten seemed to think for a moment, "Oh, that's. The scarecrow is actually just in lieu of us guarding the rice field from birds that eat rice. This way is more effective than we have to turn back and forth into the fields and the saddles drive the birds away."
Zou flicked his finger understanding, "Wow, I didn't think your idea was so great, Ten. I have always been tired and tired of driving them to eat rice in my parents' fields. After driving them away one by one, the birds were always stubborn and returned shortly afterwards. It just makes me upset," said Zou fieryly. His right hand even clenched and punched through the air showing how furious he was. "Do the birds know how hard the farmers are trying to grow rice, plough the fields, and wait for the harvest?" continued Zou with a face that was already completely irritated.
Ten just laughed blandly seeing Zou pour out his frustration all along. Others felt pity as well because their task did not seem as heavy as Zou.
"Already, Zou. Quickly tell my idea to your Father and Uncle, tell them to make a wooden human statue as well and immediately put it in the rice field!"
Zou immediately changed his facial expression to ordinary again. "Well, I'm really grateful for your idea, Ten. I'm going home first, it looks like I can't play with you guys today, bye!" pamit Zou and ran away leaving the four of us on the sidelines.
"Well," the four of them waved at the already almost invisible Zou.
"Zou's right, your idea this time was great, Ten. The clever Zou just admired him, let alone me," again Hiro uttered a compliment and slightly clapped his hands, signifying his appreciation for Ten.
Feeling noticed, Hiro turned to his left and saw Kai who showed a bitter look to him, "What? You want me to praise you too?"
Instead of being happy, Kai became even more annoyed. "You're mocking me on purpose, aren't you?"
Suddenly, Kyo who had been silent finally said, "You guys love a storm. A day's peace can't it be?" it seems like Kyo is getting caught off guard by Hiro and Kai's quarrel.
"Are you vengeful to us?"
"You have a grudge against us?"
hiro and Kai said together. Hearing that Hiro and Kai automatically turned to each other before then immediately looking away from each other.
"You're mimicking me, are you Hiro?" accuse Kai of not looking at Hiro.
"Look, maybe it's you who imitated me" Hiro said.
Ten and Kyo sighed, and from then on Ten just kept quiet hoping his best friend would get along by itself when left alone. Not only did it get worse.
"You guys," call Ten make everything turn in unison. "Still not satisfied noisily? I was bored, "like magic, Ten's words made everyone speechless.
But what Ten said next made everyone dumbfounded, especially Kyo. "You fuss yourself it's not exciting, next time take me too."
"What?" everyone felt like dropping their jaws in surprise. "I thought you were wise, Ten. It turned out the same," muttered Kyo annoyed but could still be heard by Ten.
The three of them who realized that Ten had just been colonized simultaneously said with annoyance, "Basar Ten Jahil."
Ten stopped his laughter after being satisfied laughing at them, "Alright, forgive me. Only I'm tired of hearing your pointless debate."
Kai snorted, "Okay, forgive us too. Well, now that Zou's home, how about we go to your house, Ten? I want to see that wooden man's statue."
Ten nodded no objection, "Please, come on."
When Ten turned his back on Hiro and Kai who had walked first, Ten felt something pull up his sleeve.
"What's up, Kyo?" tanya Ten after looking back.
"I..," Kyo said hesitantly, he lowered his gaze. "I'm scared, Ten," said Kyo.
Ten smiled gently, nodding at Kyo who might in his view wood man is a wooden monster to that extent. "Don't be afraid, Kyo. It's just a statue, not a real one. We also don't know if they really exist or not" Ten tried to calm Kyo down.
Seeing that Kyo was still not struggling, Ten continued, "Calm down, after all if it was my father's, the statue is not creepy at all."
Finally Kyo dared to raise his head, his hand that was gripping the sleeve of Ten's shirt slowly came loose, although Ten still saw there was trembling in that hand. "really?"
Ten nodded in spirit, "Of course! Why would I lie to you? Let's just say it's an ordinary human statue made of wood."
Kyo nodded, "Alright, I'll take it that way."
"Good, now, let's go after Kai and Hiro," Ten asked while pulling Kyo's hand to run.
✨✨✨
"Wow," in contrast to Kyo who was just silent, Kai and Hiro were busy admiring the wooden man statue in front of them.
"It's nice that this wooden man statue, it looks like a real thing," said Kai. Ten just smiled, secretly, he was proud of his father's work that never disappoints.
Hiro who heard that immediately scoffed at Kai, "You said that as if you had met a real woodman."
"You admire him too, you have no right to make fun of me like that, Hiro," he sighed.
Ignoring their quarrels, it seems like Ten, Kyo, and Zou will have to be patient in the future because as much as they break up Kai and Hiro, they end up arguing again.
"Ten, your father can make a wooden man statue as good as this, have you ever met a real wooden man?" ask Hiro suddenly.
"Eh?" of course Ten was surprised. He hesitated for a moment to answer, "Come...? I'm not sure myself either."
Kyo spoke up, "Wait, he said the wood man is just a myth, why are you talking like you believe there is a real wood man? You're not scared?" tanya Kyo is aimed at Hiro.
While Kyo, Hiro argues and Kai huddle up in their chat. Ten just kept quiet, thinking about Hiro's words.
Is it true that you've met a real wooden man? Isn't that just a myth? But if it's just a myth, how can you make a wooden man so good, as if he were like a real woodman?
So many questions ran through his mind. Ten just hoped his father would come home quickly and he could ask the truth to his father.
