Chapter 17: Who (1)

Tonight the moon shone very brightly more than yesterday - yesterday when Luna saw it. But that does not make the darkness of the night in this creepy narrow alley less. In fact, the darkness may increase as Luna gets into it.

Although she had been here before, Luna was still worried. Or rather a little scared. This alley is like a path that leads to another dimension that Luna cannot understand. The atmosphere changes if we go too deep. Like it's gonna be ready to suck on Luna and not make her come back.

But Luna has to keep going. He mustn't be scared by just a little alley like this that's nothing but a little horrible. After all, Luna's time stopped not even meeting anyone.

Once again Luna tries to say “alah” and repeatedly says “oke, everything will be okay” on herself.

And by the way, just a second. Luna realized that she was in a place like this at night. Yes night where usually his father told him to brush his teeth and put a cell phone on the table then told him to sleep. How strange. His father was very protective of him. But just now when Luna was shoved down the stairs while carrying a sling bag that showed she was going to leave the house, her father only asked instead of preventing her. What came out of his mouth was just “Luna where to go?” And instead of “Luna you can't go anywhere let's sit here and eat. Tomorrow you can't come out again!”

And all this makes Luna wonder, is.... her father is looking for her? Is his father now questioning everyone he meets and banging on all the doors of his neighbor's house just to ask “do you see my son?”

Luna smiled amusedly imagining it. But in his deepest heart, he was actually also very afraid. What would his father do if he had met Luna?

After a while tracing the narrow and dark alley, and somewhat forgetting the real purpose he came here because of daydreaming himself earlier, Luna finally realized that he was at a corner turn.

Luna followed the direction of the road and turned to the right. And after the turn, conditions have changed again. What had been like being squeezed in a small alley, after turning right all became spacious.

This road is as big as a two-way street. There are houses that are terraced, large, and certainly spacious around the street. But the house was a bit far from each other. So too with the buildings. The yard around the building is covered with weeds. This area is rarely visited. Or even never.

Houses, shops, buildings and buildings, everything was completely dark. There were only two houses and one small building with lights on. It was a bit far from where Luna was walking so Luna had to squint to look at her.

Of course those damn robbers chose a place like this to gather. No one would see them if they were here. Because even if there were people who saw it would definitely pretend not to see and want to leave a place like this as soon as possible.

“The area is here but there is no one” said Luna while walking slowly towards the big and empty old house at the end of the road. It's so wide here that it's as if someone is always watching you.

Luna stayed a few meters away from the empty old house in front of her until....

The sound of a broken twig shocked Luna. He was sure it was a broken branch that someone stepped on and he was also sure he did not hear wrong because who could not hear the sound of a broken branch in a quiet place like this?

Just now Luna wanted to turn her head in that direction, instantly a few stones or rather many stones flew towards her quickly. Luna nimbly avoided all those stones. He dodged to the left when a fist-sized stone almost hit his waist. And not even one second did the larger stone fly towards Luna towards her shoulder so she had to dodge to the right. After that more various-sized stones almost hit his body and head.

But when Luna ducked down to avoid the stone that almost leaked her head, suddenly one big stone hit her left arm hard.

“AWWW” shouted Luna in pain. However, there was no time for him to shake his hand to ease the numbness in his arm, a long leg directly flanking Luna's feet so that the unprepared Luna immediately fell to the ground.

The long leg walked around Luna who was still down and still rubbed her arm that was hit by the stone earlier. Then he stopped and stomped on Luna's feet in great pain. Luna reflexes looked up in pain and roared.

And before she almost cried, Luna suddenly kicked the figure's waist with her other leg.

The figure fell to the side due to Luna's fairly hard kick. So that his feet lost balance and did not step on Luna's feet again.

But after that, he stood up again steadily. It was as if just a second ago he had fallen but now he had risen again while clenching both hands in front of his chest, ready to beat Luna.

In contrast to that figure, Luna was still on the ground complaining of pain. His feet are numb. He could not stand up let alone face this figure.

“....” the figure is just silent and breathing heavily. Even her breath could be heard by Luna who was 3 meters away from her.

“Who are you?!” shouted Luna. His eyes looked at this person in front of him.

This figure is tall and tall. He is thin and slender. From his body he is a woman. And probably not far from Luna. He wears tight trousers with ¾ sleeves and uses boots. He wears a headscarf that hides his hair and the top of his face. He also wears a face mask that makes his nose and mouth invisible.

The only thing Luna could see on her closed face was her eyes.

“Why didn't you answer?!” Luna was a little screaming.

The sharp eyes that the girl in front of Luna had were staring at her. He was holding something in his pocket that was probably a sharp weapon. The look in his eyes clearly showed that he was weighing whether he should kill Luna now or kidnap and hide her.

But instead this person did something that Luna did not expect.

He ran away leaving Luna who was sitting staring at his back in confusion. His feet nimbly walked quickly and turned the corner towards the narrow alley.
