"Say all our family members will be executed."
Gaia Kahina Seil, the first daughter of the Isra family, looked stunned after eavesdropping on her father and mother. The small crack in the door was enough to let him know the cause of my anxious father these past few weeks.
"Are we making trouble, honey?" Hare, the Marchioness asked quite anxiously to her husband, Abian.
"No. That person assumes we will make trouble in the future because before Israel was the strongest faction of the late second prince."
"So Your Majesty thinks we can make a revolt?"
"Yes. I've met him and sworn not to rebellion and faithfully been by his side, but ... "
Abian looked fragile and was about to cry because the hanging sentence did not give a good thing.
Four months ago, the Retkan Kingdom was in chaos. The man named Rahid Stearic Hill committed a great massacre at the palace, killing all the successors including the king, his own father. Rahid was the king's illegitimate son with a famous delicacy in the capital. Therefore, the king reluctantly recognized Rahid as one of the successors to the throne and considered him a royal disgrace so that later the king exiled his wife who had just given birth to Rahid far from the capital, precisely in the northern region, the coldest region of Retkan Kingdom was filled with monsters.
"I'm ready to accept the execution, but what about you and our two daughters?" Abian so nelangsa then Hare embrace her husband affectionately.
Gaia was already unable to eavesdrop and pretended not to know any longer so she walked in and shocked her parents.
"G-gaia?" Abian stammered but Gaia only showed a radiant face as usual.
"I'll make a deal with Your Majesty, Father." Gaia said with complete confidence.
Abian and Hare immediately glared and shook their heads quickly while throwing a ban.
"What are you thinking, Gaia?! It could be that the guy's gonna cut you off before your mouth opens."
That might be true. Gaia has caught some rumors about Rahid. The cold-blooded man was used to squashing one's head as if it was fun, but rumors were still rumors.
"I know the man's weakness, Father," Gaia said.
"You?" Abian looked skeptical.
Gaia remained silent for a long time. A few days ago, he came to an information guild to get some pieces of secrets. Although the price was fantastic, Gaia thought it was worth it now.
"I'll leave tomorrow."
"No! Dad forbid you!" Abian snapping.
Gaia then furrowed her brows by looking at the infuriated Abian. "Protecting the family is part of my duty because I am the successor of this family!"
Abian pensive. This was the first time Gaia had shown such stubbornness towards him and perhaps that angry expression was trying to slap him so as not to solve the problem on her own when anyone could solve it.
"I'm going with Sir Daniel, so I don't have to worry too much. Anyway I'm sure that guy won't turn down my offer."
Gaia then passed from there and passed by her sister, Wysia Sirian.
"What's going on, brother?" Wysia asked after discovering the awkwardness and tension in the room.
Gaia smiled as she rubbed the head of Wysia. "You just got home from Lady Irian's tea party, yeah. Was fun?"
Wysia nods her head enthusiastically, implying happiness when she is deeply saddened that Lady Irian and the other noble ladies continue to allude to rumors about her family being executed.
"You lied, huh?" Gaia's thumb moved to wipe away the trail of tears on the cheeks of her sister's reddish padlocks.
Slowly Wysia's eyes glazed over and Gaia held back the growl. "What's going on in there?"
Wysia glanced at Abian and Hare anxiously. "Dad, mother .. Is it true that our family will be executed next week?"
Abian's breath seemed to be stuck in the esophagus. Abian's tongue turned muddy as she was about to answer Wysia's question however, Gaia turned Wysia's attention to listening to her. "Did Lady Irian say it?"
Irian is the daughter of the duke, a family who betrayed the king after knowing Rahid's movements. Therefore, Gaia understood why Irian was so confident in insulting her family that previously was much more respected. The Isra Family and the Duke Agneto Family were often at odds, Gaia should have acted more decisively so that Wysia would not be present after knowing that bad news that had befallen her family had spread among the nobles.
"That's not gonna happen. Instead, do you want me to teach them a little lesson?" Gaia smiled sweetly and Wysia shook her head quickly.
"That lesson must be pretty hard, right?" thought Wysia while gulping.
...***...
The main gate creaked. Two guards let the horse-drawn carriage of the family of Marquess Israel enter the palace. A few eyes were fixed on Gaia who got off the horse-drawn carriage as she received a helping hand from Daniel, the chivalric chief of the family of Israel.
It had been a long time not to visit the palace, but Gaia still found the arrangement unchanged however, the atmosphere felt heavy.
"Can I see His Majesty?"
Gaia immediately made her point to the young man who greeted her as the door opened.
"You can wait. I'll pass it on to Your Majesty."
Gaia nodded her head and stood before the door of the throne room. Soon the young man returned and asked Gaia to come in. The red rug extends to the throne.
The jaw of a firm and firm face, hair and deep black eyes like raven feathers, a gallant body, and shiny tan skin, such is the figure sitting on the throne. Gaia was almost lulled to the point of hastily disconnecting eye contact from the man.
"Is the Marquess trying to do a deal by giving her daughter away?" cibir Rahid's.
Gaia then lifted her head, not even had time to say hello, Rahid immediately presented it with sarcastic words.
"No, Your Grace. I've come to make a deal with you."
Rahid silent. Her eyes peered deep into the beautiful hazel of Gaia that glittered fearlessly, as if confidence encompassed the fragile little body.
"You?" Rahid looked unhappy.
"I .., "Gaia stood up, and her hands were fixed in front of her stomach as if praying, and before long a light with golden particles was shining in the air around her body.
A pair of black eyes Rahid was wide open to see how beautiful the light was, but not only that which cradled the view but Gaia's blonde hair which expanded by the light followed by hazel eyes turned into amber.
"My sacred power can heal the curse that gnaws at your body" Gaia continued.
Hearing Gaia's words, Rahid's expression turned furious. The man rose from the throne after pulling the sword at his waist, pointing it at Gaia's neck. Far behind Gaia, Daniel had gripped the handle of his sword but, Gaia coded it with the fingers behind her back to keep Daniel watching from there.
Meanwhile, Rahid's knights who had been hiding behind the pillar were wide open to hear the words of the marquess princess. The woman looked unsteady and frightened and still maintained eye contact with their king.
"How dare you find out about me."
"I have no other option to use your weakness as an agreement because my family is already within your grasp."
"What if I reject you? After all, I don't care if I have to die because my grudge has been met." Rahid grinned, pressing the sword under Gaia's chin to look at her more.
Gaia started to waver. If Rahid meant it with the words just now, then in the end he would see his family end up under the guillotine.
Rahid smiled cynically seeing Gaia cornered. "Why did you stop talking?"
Gaia was upset and consciously stared fiercely at Rahid. "I see the aura of the curse has reached your heart. Looks like before my family, you'll die first."
The knights shuddered while glaring. Right now they were like having two thunders wrapped around each other and snatching at each other. Gaia looked like a Tyrant from another country, her mouth as if it was a substitute sword to hold the sword secret under her chin.
Rahid gasped and then chuckled while again sheathing the sword to the waist.
"Then, let's make a deal." Rahid grabbed the back of Gaia's hand and landed a brief kiss there.
