Theo's PoV
My healing process lasted nearly five minutes. I don't know if it's short or long, but said the woman who healed me with her gift, the process was indeed quite time-consuming because of this gunshot wound from a large-caliber bullet. Maybe he usually does the healing even faster.
The people who came to us were friends of Ansel. There were four of them; three men and one woman. The young man who seemed to be of Asian descent and who was somewhat stocky stood guard outside, while the big tall young man with the crest of— might be the tattoo—wajik on the back of the hand and the dark tan-skinned woman who healed me earlier was in the room. Their expressions looked tense and full of vigilance, but they also looked a little relieved. Maybe they were grateful to be in time to save me.
The woman took both her hands off my chest. The green light slowly dimmed. It seemed that the thick clothes I was wearing were torn apart by bullets, but the pain I had been feeling disappeared completely.
The woman leaned against the wall. Electricity has been re-ignited. I could see the sweat splashing down the woman's body like rain. He was exhausted, in both his physical and psychic sense. Gift is a supernatural ability. The burden is given not only to the physical, but also the psychic. If it is too hard to use it, of course the body will receive side effects that are so great.
Ansel who had been waiting at the door came to me. He crouched down, glaring at me who was still lying limp. Suddenly she grabbed the tip of my clothes, then pulled it up forcefully all of a sudden.
"HEY, AP—"
My voice stopped immediately when I felt a painful pulse in the crown. When my arms went limp, my legs went limp. My back is back on the floor. It feels like the world is spinning.
"THEO!!!!!"
"THEO!!!"
"Sir Theo!"
Lee, Val, Lizzy, and the others came straight to me when I collapsed again, but Ansel stretched his hand to the edge, stopping them all.
"Calm down, this is the expected reaction." Ansel took off my thick clothes slowly, then sat cross-legged in front of me. "Three shots, hitting the shoulder blades, back, and chest. The shot in the chest was carried out by a pistol with a large bullet. There's a visible scar on your chest, maybe permanent, but for another shot it's cleaner. V can heal your wounds, but it can't restore all the wasted blood. You feel dizzy and limp from lack of blood."
"No way........" Lee glared, reflexively she covered her mouth with both hands. Val looked down with both hands clenched. He walked in front of me, and sat down. His expression was so tense, full of guilt.
"I'm sorry, if I hadn't been in a hurry........"
"Val!" I slightly snapped with a voice that I myself was surprised turned out to be quite weak. "That's it, there's no need to blame anyone. I don't want to hear."
I know where this is going, and I don't like it. Better to say thank you than apologize. I can understand his concern, especially since our father was right too. I have to explain it to Val.
"In addition, Val..... I......."
"Talk later!" cut the Ansel firmly. He stood up, patted his pants that didn't look dirty, then looked at all of us. "The situation is bad at the moment. Kuro, Klaus, you guys take care of the evacuation route in the room. Rolfe, get Mei and Magz to secure an outside evacuation route. We're gathering at Felice's."
The two youths outside immediately replied simultaneously.
"Understand."
"All right!!"
Then they went downstairs. Evacuation route? Is it possible the back doorway? Thankfully, Val and the others don't need to see our father now. The focus now is evacuation, that's the main thing.
I rested on my skinny arm, trying to move even though my head was still spinning. The throbbing didn't go away, it just got stronger every time I used my muscles. But I should be able to stand up.
"Theo!!"
"Oi, don't joke!"
Lee and Val tried to hold my body. Honestly, I felt like I was going to collapse again. It felt like my legs were running out of battery, but I kept forcing myself to stand up.
"It's okay, Lee, Val. Hurry up and get our brothers together. We have to leave immediately."
"YOU'RE CRAZY!!! Don't joke, just stand up tired, now you want to act strong yourself??" Lee raised his voice. My ears even felt ringing as he snapped right beside me.
"A-ah"
I can't continue my words. There was no more reason I could think of after seeing the tears seeping from Lee's emerald green eyes. He tried to look strong, but the snot flowing from his nose instead showed that he was really trying hard to hold back his sobs.
"Lee... you........."
I-i understand. Lee has lost a lot of things since he was dumped by his parents. After he was finally able to find a "family" in this parlour, I suddenly almost died before his eyes. Of course he would be shaken, he was afraid of losing again.
I'm happy, very happy. Lee is still the usual Lee.
"No... sorry." I glanced at Val who was also supporting my limp body. "Val, accompany the others to go evacuate. Lee's been enough to help me."
Val seems a little unaccepted. I didn't expect him to have this side either. But he's more mature than Lee. He let go of my arm as soon as I asked for it.
"All right."
Val tries to calm the kids down, except for Lizzy who is still clinging to my feet. No problem, just leave this place.
"What's the plan, Ansel?"
Ansel glanced at his big tall friend. Without speaking a word, the friend nodded. The index and middle fingers touch the left earlobe, there may be a radio there. Shortly after, his face turned back to us.
"It's safe, we're evacuating now."
Ansel was facing us. "Follow me." His orders while walking out of the room. I walked after—of course with Lee supported. The mature brown-skinned woman who had healed me also followed behind. He seemed to be on standby in case my situation worsened again. Meanwhile, Val with the kids was at the very back.
Walking in the hallway was already quite torturous for me. My legs are limp, totally limp. It felt like there were loose screws in my joints. Is this what it's like to lose a lot of blood? Is my face now as pale as a hospital wall? My eyes even felt like a camera with poor focus. Thank goodness Lee walked over to me. Walking down the stairs was much harder than I expected.
"Hey.... Ansel, can you explain a little what happened? Whoareyou? Who're you?" I tried to talk to relieve the tension.
"Well.the story is long. I'll make sure to explain that later. Maybe what you need to know now, we're the Wild Dogs squad I've been telling you about a lot."
Why am I not surprised? I mean, doesn't he obviously brag a lot about Helder's secret squad? No, I was actually surprised a little. I can't believe what he's talking about is true.
"Ansel, did you really tell an outsider about a secret squad?" Ask his tall friend. Oh, that's right too. I forgot these guys are secret squads. I mean, Ansel just hung up his uniform in a jacket, can that count as a disguise?
Of course, the red-haired young man turned his eyes away. He's smart, but he's smart, too. I can say that after two weeks of being bullied by him. But that's what makes him dangerous. He's hard to guess. I guess the reason for using such disguises was to make people not believe that he was the head of the secret squad.
"Na-naah, most importantly, Theo, this big tall young man named Rolfe van Hyden, my right-hand man in the Wild Dogs!"
That person was shifting the topic in a bad way.
"Who do you call the power pole??"
"Laluu......." Ansel cut again. "The girl who healed you was called Esvele Achard, I call it V because it's simple."
My eyes glanced at the woman behind me. The mature brown-skinned woman typical of southeast Asia showed a symbol of peace in her right hand while smiling broadly.
"Greetings, Theo. You're really strong to be able to withstand those injuries. Normally people would collapse in the first shot."
"Ah... no. I'm just lucky." A little embarrassed was also praised like that. He's an extrovert, obviously. But I didn't expect her voice to be deeper than I thought.
"Well, you don't know yet, V. Look at that."
When we got to the bottom floor, Ansel pointed to three extremists who had been tied up and leaned against the wall. I know who they are, they're the ones I beat. I'm not sure what I did could make them faint. I mean, what's the worst effect of directly spraying the contents of a light fire extinguisher onto someone? Maybe Ansel or his friends did something.
"You see?" Ansel continued, "the boy was able to defeat three armed men alone, in a wounded condition. Oh, and good movement also to lower the electric breaker. Hard to aim in the dark."
Yeah, I can't believe I did it in times of urgency either. I didn't think at all, it was all instinct. It was nice to hear what I was doing turned out to be useful.
"Only.. instinct......."
"Good idea."
Ansel stopped talking. Maybe he realized I wasn't so good after hearing my hoarse and weak voice. Good thing, I myself feel tired to just talk. Now it's better to walk quickly before the situation gets worse.
