Chapter 20: Artificial Devils and Ancient War

In the middle of the snowy forest, the convoy of eighty or so people, was on an expedition to find the ancient ruins, led by Zen.

After Ronald learns that Zen knows two locations where weapons are capable of defeating the devil, he sends a letter to three other kingdoms, until it is decided to go on an expedition a week later.

Before long, Lennard approached his king, Eryk. Those who have been following Zen since. "Your Majesty, should we trust that dark man?"

Hearing Lennard's words, Eryk replied. "If he really knows, it will be great and we will get weapons to defeat the demons in the war."

Hearing his king's words, Lennard did not ask back and continued on their way.

"We're here!" Shouted Zen.

In front of them was a large building with several glass-covered upper floors, and certainly with modern architecture.

"What building is this?"

"I've never seen a building like this."

Allenz then asked. "What is this place?"

Zen smiled and explained. "This place is an arsenal and a testing ground for new weapons, even some weapons are made here."

Everyone approached the building, and were surprised at how big it was.

"What's this?! Even the mayor's building in the capital isn't this big."

"It's a lot bigger than our barracks." Woulle was surprised and compared to Hearterra's military barracks.

Until in front of the building, some people will stand guard outside and guard the wagon brought, for later the weapon is placed in the wagon.

Entering the building, and passing through the glass door, they went inside. The waiting room and the reception desk, going inside, they found two separate passageways, Zen led them straight, and did not take the left lane.

"At the end of the day, we have to go up the evacuation ladder to the third floor and that's where the weapons storage is."

At the end, they found the stairs up, now Allenz who led to the top floor. Zen was looking for a cigarette that might be used near the room next to the stairs to the top floor.

Walking slowly, some of the soldiers looked alert, even the kings did the same. However, Allenz walked leisurely, passing through the second floor which looked dark and there were only a few empty rooms when checked.

Until they climbed back up, and reached the third floor, where the room referred to Zen was right next to the evacuation ladder.

I don't know what makes them alert, even Allenz also watchful when in front of the door. Two soldiers were about to open the door, until a high noise, making them reflexively look back, and found the elevator door open and inside Zen came out enjoying the cigarette he found downstairs.

"Seriously, Race?!" Allenz.

"What's? I just used the elevator to get up faster." Sahut Zen's.

"What's that?" ask Opheniel.

"The place just now? It's called an elevator, it can take you all over the floor in this building, by pressing a button on which floor you want to visit. Oh yeah, the door to your destination storage room needs an access card to open it." Clear Zen by removing a card and sticking it in a special place on the door to open it.

After opening it, they found a huge arsenal full of modern weapons, from a sort of rocket gunner, crossbow, bazooka, and even some combat robots with a height of four meters.

"Programme, please check all these places." Zen said on his watch.

The program checks all these buildings by performing a scan, and sends the results to Zen.

[There are some signs of life not far away in the room, it seems that they are being held in a holding glass.] Reply program.

Valrius then ordered the soldiers to carry the weapons, plus they got rockets for their bazookas.

"Please take this thing with care." Pinta Allenz's.

The weapon was then removed and put into a wooden box to be placed in a wagon.

On the other hand, Zen walked around there, and got a special shirt, with a mask that fused with headphones, half-body armor, a pair of shoes and gloves. Taking the shirt into the sack he brought, since long ago he wanted to use that special shirt, especially when the shirt was just finished. When he was about to bring the shirt, he finally found the weapon that should be given to the kingdom.

"Hey! This is the gun you're supposed to be carrying." He cried out to call people to his place.

The four kings and Allenz came to Zen's place, where Zen showed him some saber swords.

"The sword that shines?" Ask Ronald.

"Yep, this place can only just create a sword weapon to fight demons. I think this is the gun you need." Answer Zen.

"Then, what weapon are you going to take?" Ask Allenz.

"Let's just relax, I already have this suitcase." He said while pointing at the suitcase on his back.

"How do I use it?" Ask Eryk.

Hearing Eryk's question, Zen smiled wryly. Then he stood up, headed for a computer and tapped into it. Until a rumbling sound appeared, people were shocked, and saw a large glass box appear and placed on the left side of Zen.

"What's in that box, Race?" Ask a rather worried Allenz.

Smilingly. "You wanna know? I introduce you to the monstrous demon we captured." Then Zen pressed the L keyboard, making the lamp inside the glass box reveal its contents.

A large and terrifying figure was in the chain.

"I-it's... "

"...."

Everyone widened their eyes, inside was a huge demon that was chained strong and appeared unconscious.

"High level devil?!"

While the others were still shocked, Zen asked some people to come out and take the weapons to the wagon and wait outside. "By the way, I asked a few people here to be able to keep this secret, so I asked the four kings to choose the ones who can keep this secret."

The kings then chose their respective confidants, and Zen asked them to swear not to divulge this matter. Because he knew they wouldn't divulge this easily, this effect concerned their self-esteem to keep a secret.

"Well, thank you for keeping this a secret, because if this secret leaks out it's possible that a major war between people will happen again, and I heard you guys just made an alliance, right?" so keep this secret good." Zen said seriously.

Either after Zen said so, making everyone cringe at the sight of Zen's serious face just now. Continuing on the previous thing that was delayed, Zen approached the large glass, then said. "I want to ask you, what do you think the devil is?"

"Bad creatures."

"Entity that tempts man to do evil."

"Inspected yet exist."

Hearing those people's answers, Zen asked again. "If the devil is some kind of creature that can not be seen carelessly, then what creatures will we fight later? The devil is a creature that cannot be seen. Hence, this program was created."

"What program?" Allenz is getting suspicious.

"A program known as the Artificial Devil Creation Program. Where the United Nations, WHO, and some secret state agencies were trying to create their own demons worldwide were fighting the New Humans, and now preoccupied with the appearance of demons. Therefore this program was made to research the devil." Obviously Zen.

"But, it should be WHO and the UN... That's..." Allenz was surprised by other projects besides his New Human project.

[ADCP or Artificial Devil Creation Program is about to begin, we have found a demon strong enough for us to research.] Said a woman who started a documentary video.

Allenz was surprised by the figure of the woman who started recording her face like when her nightmare was in the barracks, with short blonde hair.

In the video, they all saw some researchers trying to put resilience on the same demon figure trapped in the glass.

They researched it like they were torturing the demon, and even tested the demon's resilience with anything. However, as the research progresses. An explosion caused the researchers to panic, and escape the room. One of the researchers called the woman to evacuate.

As the woman left, the camera caught several humans using magic and destroyed the place, then one of the people who attacked the place destroyed the camera that captured them earlier, which was the one that had taken the place, the video stopped three hours later.

The people there were confused, what technology did they just see? What happened to this place? What language did the woman speak? And more importantly why would a human using magic attack that place?

Ronald then asked what he had seen. "What we're seeing isn't entirely clear to me, can you explain why it's confidential?"

Zen is outspoken about the New Human project, how the world suddenly appeared radiation where magic all over the world. This appearance was unacceptable to ordinary humans and a surgeon proposed making a new human body for humans exposed to this radiation, the man named Christopher Fran Newton, he was the old Allenz.

Everyone there was shocked and saw the petrified Allenz.

"But how is it possible to transfer a soul to another body?!" Opheniel was still wondering how to move a soul when it was impossible.

Zen unhesitatingly explained how in the past this world was a modern world and there were many developing technologies, and one of them moved consciousness into the device, but no one has been able to move the soul into a body or anything else, so when the New Human project was first tested, he said, the New Humans rebelled and there was a war between New Human and Old Human. The New Humans who were endowed with magic and were able to adapt to the surroundings made them easily rule over several countries long ago, and while the Old Humans had to use special masks and rely only on modern weapons at that time and hide.

This war continued for many years, leaving only 56% of the Old Human remaining. And a new problem arose, with suddenly a strange portal opened and the demons came out of it. Yep, the demons came out of hell and added trouble for Old Human, until there was no Old Human left, other than the ones who managed to move into a new body, which was the only thing that was left, like Allenz or doing a long hibernation like Zen in a tube.

"Then, what does this have to do with secrecy?" ask Willle.

"If anyone knew about this, then, maybe there will be two camps who feel they are Old Human and the other side is New Human and there will be another war between these two camps for the second time, without them knowing from the same kingdom or not." Answer Zen. "The only thought they had was that these people had to slaughter all the New Human beings that existed. Ok that's all I can explain! if you have any questions, you can ask me directly or Allenz."

Ronald tries to understand what Zen explained earlier, he understands what is explained, from artificial human projects, to the previous great war. "So you two are the only old humans left?"

"Yep, I have found no sign of any old man other than us, and rest assured I will not slaughter you, I just want to see a new life in this world." Zen.

Eryk also felt this was quite sensitive, due to the history that seemed to be rewritten by the previous New Human, for no major war to re-emerge in the future.

Everyone understood now, and agreed that this should be hidden from the public.

Lennerd later responded to the woman in the previous video. "By the way, that woman was pretty."

Zen who heard that replied. "Oh? that woman? She was Allenz's ex-wife before she switched bodies, though I don't know how she's doing right now."

"Wait, Allenz was married?!" Willle was surprised by that.

"Yes... Besides, we were a little old before you guys, maybe a little older."

Ronald spoke shortly. "Let's get this shit out. Then, what do we want to do about this great demon?"

I forgot the devil. "Oh yeah, I forgot about him." Zen approached the glass, then fiddled with the monitor on the glass and used the mic to wake the demon. "Hey, big man, time to wake up. Two hundred years have passed, so wake up from your slumber." In English, the devil does not wake up.

The others only looked at Zen who was trying to talk to the demon from behind the glass.

"What language does he use that?" Valery.

Allenz replied. "It's English, the international language spoken all over the world like the Worage language we use today."

However, the demon did not respond, and making Zen use a high-frequency sound to wake the demon up, an ear-splitting sound appeared, making the demon wake up and run amok, sending the people there into a panic.

Seeing that the demon finally woke up, Zen stopped the voice, and tried to speak again, but the demon seemed to stare angrily at Zen.

Zen smiled, then he took off his leather shoes with the shoes he had found earlier. On purpose, Zen opened the glass that locked it, and made people there panic and protest at Zen, including Allenz.

"Rasyid, what are you doing?!" Said Allenz walking away.

"Just relax, I want to try this gun." Said Zen calmly, while lifting his suitcase. "Change, Sword Anti-Demon!" Before long, Zen's suitcase turned into a long saber sword, then used a mask that fused with the headphones he had found before.

The demon came out and rampaged, giving off a terrifying aura, and roared loudly, his long-tortured self, now going to kill the humans in front of him.

Zen leisurely walked up to the demon, the demon saw the zen approaching him, and he quickly ran towards Zen, Zen who was approached by the demon, came running towards the demon. "Give me your demon heart!!"

The demon raised one hand, and smashed onto the ground as Zen was near him, but with the help of his current shoes, he could leap higher than the demon's height. The moment in the air Zen was quickly about to slash the demon's head, but the demon used one hand to resist Zen's attack.

Surprising things happened, with ease Zen's sword neatly cut off the devil's hand, and made his hand break off and the demon roared in pain.

"What the hell is that?! He easily cut off a demon hand that big?!" Woulle was surprised by the sword used by Zen.

On landing, Zen jumped back to get away. "Change, Anti-Demon Cannon." His sword weapon had now turned into a cannon the size of twice as big a hand, and Zen immediately aimed towards the demon. "Foot!"

A huge fire shot towards the demon and smashed it into dust, and made a shock big enough to make the people outside feel that way. Even the wall behind the demon was shattered and hollow.

"S-the weapon is too terrible."

"What is such a terrible modern weapon?!"

"D-yes." Allenz replied in surprise.

Zen then changed his weapon back into a suitcase and took out an object that resembled the heart of the great demon corpse earlier, and returned to the previous computer, fiddling with the computer again, tinkering, now another body comes down from above.

"What else is this?!"

A female humanoid was revealed, her stature was like a 12-year-old girl, who had a pitch-black complexion and was shrouded in a dark aura. The body was lowered near Zen.

"Ras, what are you going to do this time?" Ask Allenz.

"Eliving the anti-demon weapon that humanity wants." Zen replied, then he forcefully inserted the previous demon heart into the humanoid body right in the area where the heart was located. After putting down that heart, Zen took out his hand, before long where the heart was lit up and made the humanoid come to life, displaying the beautiful color of magenta eyes.

Allenz, Willle, and the others instantly prepared their respective weapons, fearing that bad things would happen as before.

Zen then gave a special paper and a light appeared when the humanoid touched the paper. "Please help us, Iris."

The humanoid named Iris by Zen went straight into Zen's body, a sign that he had received a contract from the paper.

After Iris entered, Allenz hurriedly came to Zen, asking what the creature was. "Rashid! Explain, what creature just entered your body?!"

Zen calmly replied. "He's the strongest anti-demon weapon we have right now."

Allenz widened his eyes and walked backwards.

"You could say, he was a man-made demon, although I didn't expect him to be obedient and enter my body. I thought he was gonna fight." Zen. "With this, the human side is ready against the demon side."

The door of the room opened, the soldier outside came in and asked what was going on. However, with the oath earlier, everything kept this matter a secret. With reason that Zen accidentally shot a wall in the room.

Everyone exited the building, and evenly split the acquired weapons, they proceeded to the second armory somewhere else.

In the same wagon, Allenz billed any questions the UN and others had been hiding all along.

Zen casually, replied. "Sure, I'll explain everything during the trip." However, when they were far away, the real Zen grasped a remote, then pressed the red button on the remote.  Blow up the big building and make the place destroyed is not left, this is done because of his mission as an intel who is a member of the World Intel Union. Before long, the remote was thrown out of the wagon, with this there was no longer any trace of the Old Human-New Human or the artificial Devil, either, there are only those who Zen believes can be trusted to keep this secret.
