Chapter 22

"You understand what I said!"

Samuel stared one by one at the people who were there, until his gaze ended at Inayna who seemed hesitant to nod her head.

"After I open this door, and remove the barrier behind this door, you run away."

Samuel again gave them direction, this time Ina seemed very forced to nod her head.

"Then how'd you do Sam?"

This time Ina spoke up, it was impossible for this man to face the creature alone, even though Samuel had tried to protect their lives. Who will protect his life later?

"Don't worry, I'll be careful. C'mon guys, we don't have much time. Looks like they've managed to get on this floor."

Samuel is seen taking a swipe to open the door knob after he commemorates the people who were with him.

Even before Samuel was sure to open the door, Samuel took a deep breath and exhaled violently. The grip of one of his hands on the bassball stick he was carrying was getting tighter.

"Let's go!" Samuel spoke again to give instructions.

When the iron door opened perfectly Samuel wasted his time and opportunity. The man beat one of the creatures blindly. Ina even pecked behind Samuel's body while his other colleagues ran the ridge including his sister and Mama.

But what was done by Ina, the girl looked at the creature that had been sprawled on a white tile with thick black blood coming out of the head. 

"Sam," Ina patted Samuel on the shoulder as the man looked calm and conscious.

"You didn't run?"

Ina grabs one of Samuel's hands, clenched tightly to the bassball. Ina knew that Samuel was still shaken at the moment, in order to save them he was willing to kill. Although it was forced, Ina understood very well that it was a very difficult thing.

"It's okay, you're innocent Sam. Wrong circumstances, you're doing this because you want to protect us and yourself. So, never feel guilty okay."

Ina tries to convince Samuel that the man does not feel depressed because guilt is enveloping his heart. The first murder committed by a healthy human against the creature.

Samuel turned around, the man's face pias. Even he was not stopping to stare at the palm of the hand and the creature that was no longer moving.

"I killed Nay, I killed Miss Elena."

Samuel dropped his bassball bat, his hands shaking. His gaze looked frightened and agitated, even Ina could see Samuel's breathing looking irregular.

"Ssssttt, it's okay, you're doing all this to survive. Protecting you and all of our lives."

Ina cupped her hands together on Samuel's pias face, the girl displaying a faint smile to calm Samuel's current heart and feelings.

"Huufft...!"

Samuel breathed a rough breath, he again grabbed his bassball stick that he had dropped earlier. One hand grabbed Ina's hand that was on her face, then led her towards her lips.

Cup...

"Come on! the others are waiting for us."  Samuel looked calm, the man quickly pulled Inayna's arm to follow in his footsteps. They descended the emergency stairs from the emergency exit they had opened earlier.

"Why are you still here? it's not like I told you to run!"

Samuel wanted to curse the people who were still silent in their respective places without anyone wanting to move their feet even a little. Samuel and Ina saw that Aiko, Anita, Zean and the others had run away.

"Brah!"

Ina exclaimed to Samuel, he pulled the end of the thick jacket Samuel was wearing when he saw a swarm of creatures walking towards them.
