I was transferred from the Virtual Hall into the game, looking around, it seemed that I was in the forest. My own visibility was not hindered by the darkness, perhaps because of the Night Vision Skill that instantly showed its function. Really practical.
Looking up, there were two moons in the sky, one blue and one red which seemed to confirm that this was a fantasy world. As I looked further, I saw a city to the north in a relatively close distance.
This may be a game mechanism where new players are not moved directly into the city, but the nearest location of the city. So no need to panic.
"Yes, then check my condition first."
First I tried to move my body to feel if there was any discomfort, but the character moved as smoothly as I wanted.
Glancing for a moment, I found four bars on my right side. Green for HP, blue for mana, yellow for stamina, and finally white for Satiation (satiety).
Then, looking at my own body, it was seen that I was wearing a set of grain-colored clothes. Consisting of short-sleeved shirts, over-the-knee shorts — which I will certainly never wear in the real world. As for weapons ...is there nothing at all?
"Yes, let me look at it using Basic Appraisal. The Skill activation key is ... Appraise."
[Shirt from Unknown
Type: Underwear (Upper)
Rank: None
Durability :∞
Weight: 10
A mysterious dress. It is not known where this shirt actually came from. When wearing the equipment that hit him this shirt will disappear, and when removing it this shirt will reappear suddenly. It has an exceptional defense so it cannot be destroyed, but the damage is passed on to the wearer so that it cannot protect the wearer]
[Pants from Unknown
Type: Underwear (Bottom)
Rank: None
Durability :∞
Weight: 10
A mysterious pair of pants. It is not known where these pants actually came from. When wearing the equipment that hit him these pants will disappear, and when removing them these pants will reappear suddenly. It has an exceptional defense so it cannot be destroyed, but the damage is passed on to the wearer so that it cannot protect the wearer]
In short, this is really basic gear without any extras. However ...
"... Underwear, yes .. somehow it bothers me."
Isn't that the same as being naked? Ugh, but .. yes, his own appearance is not vulgar so let's just ignore it.
"Then check my status ... huh? My HP is a little reduced? But why?"
I didn't do anything that might reduce HP. The only thing I did was move my body, check my vision and environment, check my equipment, and use [Basic Appraisal].
"wait. Basic Appraisal was also a type of active Skill so was that why, huh?"
I set my eyes on a random tree near me. By the way, my HP had returned full before I realized it.
"Appraise!"
[Lush Tree (Green)
Health Points: 200/200]
I ignored the appraisal results and focused on something else, my HP bar. Sure enough, after using [Basic Appraisal], the amount of HP was reduced by 1 from its maximum amount.
"I think there's still some things I need to research about Basic Appraisal." Waiting 7 seconds later, my HP returned full and I started inspecting this Skill.
I continued to use Basic Appraisal on ordinary objects, plants, and animals around me. Cooldown (waiting time) The skill itself is 5 seconds so that there is a break in use. However, the results were a little surprising.
I can only use this Skill on what I see, so maybe if the object moves too fast it might fail. When I tried to assess the stone behind me, only HP consumption occurred. So regardless of the results, the cost of the Skill remained charged and this premise might also apply to other Skill-Skills.
Then while using it on objects, I got more information. Whereas in living things like trees and animals I can only see the amount of HP. Well, here's the interesting part, which is that when I use it on animals, their behavior tends to turn aggressive.
"Maybe there's a reason? Okay, let's use it on yourself." First find a puddle of water that can reflect my shadow, then. "Appraise."
[Person Without Side (Grey)
Health Points :80]
I'm a little jolted. Not because of the result but I felt discomfort as if someone had peeked at me, the direction was generally indicated and in my case it led to a puddle. Probably based on the direction the view came from.
"Yeah, I understand somehow. Fortunately I checked first, if I used it on monsters they would probably chase me right away."
This skill can attract hatred from monsters. This was a valuable record for not using the [Basic Appraisal] Skill on anything that looked including an NPC.
"Last let's check my status while heading to the city. System Call, Status!"

Oh, the level of the [Basic Appraisal] rose. Yes, it may be the result of previous verification given the large number of items I valued in order to get decent data.
Some of my stats that had a decline correction got a minus sign. It might show it's below standard values. Moreover, some differences were visible when compared to the results of the Basic Appraisal Skill.
There is a numerical value in addition to the previously unseen juxtaposition, it seems to help players observe whether their juxtaposition is rising or falling. As for the amount of HP, I have long since closed my eyes to the pitiful amount.
Then Title, there are two ... Ohh ...! The installed title can change! Even so the effect still holds even when it is not installed. Good. Change to Title Half Vampire Bloodline to look more in line with my Role Play character.
I tried using Basic Appraisal on the Skill names in my status. The results can be assessed, so the terms in view also apply in this case.
For the results of explaining the Basic Appraisal Skill itself like this.
[Basic Appraisal (Level 1)
Activation: Voice Key
Cost: 1 Health Points
Cooldown: 5 seconds
Whatever you can value. Things, people, monsters, anything! Make the unknown known!]
Okay, that's really basic information. Fortunately, I did verify it earlier. Let's keep doing that in the future.
"Nanana~ Nananana~"
I started to tone lightly. A little bit happy because it's closer to the Role Play character I want. Right before—
Shut!
An arrow flew from the southwest direction. By reflex, I protected my head with my left hand but the arrow pierced through it.

Skill Explanation, Basic Appraisal:
Basic Appraisal was the most basic appraisal Skill. It is possible to judge 'anything' with notes as long as the user can see.
When using this Skill the assessed target will be able to know your whereabouts. For information that can be seen if it is an object include:
Name;
Type;
Rank;
Durability (endurance);
Equipment weight;
And finally flavor text + effects.
While the information that can be seen if the target is a living creature includes:
Title (which is installed/if any) Name (if any especially in monsters that more often do not have it)
Alignment (player only based on the base color of the cursor)
Number of HP
It is for this reason that Title, which is also a type of identity, and is indicated in the profile cursor (which appears only by focusing the view without using the Aparaisal Skill) if the name of the observed party is unknown.
