Something Beautiful

Something Beautiful
Chapter - 8

Lisa sits on the back of Thunder, a hunchbacked and grumpy old horse older than herself and once belonged to her grandfather, then gallops along the path to the Roseanne family cottage. His shotgun was sheathed beside the body, his eyes watching the side of the road hoping to find a small beast that could be shot on the way to Roseanne's house. Not that he could approach any animal without being heard first, because the long spear he narrows under his armpits constantly fluttered every time it came into contact with the breastplate and hit the shield he was holding.

Although before leaving Lisa had a fight with her mother but now her mood has improved lulled by the sunny weather in the spring and the same sense of anticipation as she described to Sarah.

At the foot of the valley on the left and in the shade of the forest on the right, the flowers of spring had begun to bloom, satisfying his eyes with the various colors of the rainbow and his nose with a fragrant aroma. On the edge of the village was a small inn, and Lisa, who knew everyone who lived within a 13-kilo-meter radius of her residence, was, lifting the face cover on his helmet then waved cheerfully to the innkeeper. "Good day, Tilson," he said, shouting.

"Good day too, Miss Lisa," replied the man.

As well as his six brothers standing outside the family's reot hut, a game was going on in their yard. "Let's go, Lisa" call Rose's fourteen-year-old sister from her father's old horse. "Time to play the spear."

"No, let's duel first," said his thirteen-year-old sister, pulling an old sword. "This time I'll beat you, Lisa. I've been practicing day and night."

Laughing, Lisa clumsily jumped down from her horse and hugged Roseanne, the two young girls immediately came into play. The game is a ritual that is often carried out every time the seven sons and daughters of the family have a birthday.

The afternoon was spent playing fun games, healthy competitions, and cheerful laughter from a large family gathered together, something Lisa had longed for since she was a child,

On the way back home, his body was very tired but his heart was happy and his stomach almost exploded with fullness because it was offered so much food by Mother Roseanne.

The sound of old Thunder's footsteps on the dusty road seemed to knock him down. Lisa let her body sway to the rhythm of the horse's steps, her heavy eyelids began to close because of fatigue. Because she found no other way to carry her armor, Lisa had no choice but to wear it, but the armor made her overheated and as a result she became more sleepy.

As it passed through the inn and turned the direction of the old Thunder towards the wide path through the forest that would cut the main road a few more kilometers away, he saw some horses tied up in the inn yard with the lights by the window still on. The masculine voice of the man smelling the vulgar song floated in the wind to his ears. Above his head, the branches of the oak trees intertwined, nodded by the gusts of the spring night breeze, casting a sinister shadow on the path he passed through when moonlighted.

Lisa knew the night was late, but she would not tell her horse to speed up. First because Thunder was already over twenty years old, and secondly because he wanted to make sure the landlord had gone home when he arrived home.

Frowning slightly, he wondered whether to meet a wild pig or some other not-so-dangerous animal, which might be edible, he pulled the rifle from its sarunya as easily as his armor would allow.

Suddenly the silence of the night was broken by the sound of a firearm eruption, then another one. Before Lisa had time to act, Thunder galloped dazed towards the edge of the forest, subconsciously running straight towards the source of the sound, the horse's harness hovering above the ground near her feet, while Lisa clasped her feet hard on the horse's body.

The chief of the robbers gasped in shock at the sound of metal flashing from the direction of the forest at the side, and Kim Mingyu shifted his gaze from the muzzle of the dangerous gun pointed right at his chest. From the direction of the forest a knight in armor with a covered helmet galloped to save him on a hunchback horse, one holding a shield and the other holding a rifle.

Lisa refrains from screaming as she jumps out of the woods and lands right in the middle of a scene more terrifying than the worst nightmare in the moonlight. A charioteer was lying wounded on the street, next to the carriage, and two robbers with faces covered in red handkerchiefs were pointing guns at them, and pointing guns right at him.

He doesn't have time to think, he just reacts. While tightening her grip on the rifle and unknowingly relying on the protection on her shield and chest protector from the bullets, Lisa swung her body to the right, intending to jump towards the robber and drop him into the realm, but just then too the man's gun erupted.

In the terrifying chaos, Thunder stumbles and loses his balance, Lisa helplessly ejects into the air and lands with the rusted armor on top of the second robber's body. The clash nearly knocked his helmet off, his rifle thrown into the street, and he nearly fainted.

Unfortunately, the robbers were killed before Lisa's head stopped turning. "What the hell," he growled, then with a single powerful jolt he pushed Lisa's weak body off the top of his body and kicked her hard before rushing to help her friend, he said, who is now struggling with his tall victims to fight over the gun.

With pushy eyes and panic, Lisa saw the two robbers beating the tall man. With strength coming from fear he lifted his body forward then crawled, tripped, and clashed noisily towards his shiny rifle lying on the path. Just as his fingers were grasping the handle of the rifle, he saw the tall man managed to snatch the gun from the skinny robber and shot him, then the man ducked, turned his back, turned his back, and pointed his gun right at the other robber.

Stunned Lisa noticed the flexibility of the movement of the tall man then saw the man coldly and calmly pointed a gun at the second robber. Still lying face down, Lisa closed her eyes, waiting for the thunder of the gun to erupt. But all that was heard was a loud click of an empty gun.

"The bottom of the poor and stupid son of a bitch" said the robber, laughing curiously and reaching out behind his shirt, pulling out his own gun. "You think I'd let you take that second gun from down if I didn't know for sure that it was empty? You're gonna die slowly for killing my sister. People will die very slowly if shot in the abdomen,"
