Something Beautiful

Something Beautiful
Chapter - 56

Outside, the two men, Mingyu's friends who were about to go home excuses tired, were men who were also great horse breeders and experienced bettors, pausing for a moment on the stairs, throwing incredulous gazes at each other. "Diskey like sheep?" Joshua repeated his friend's words, "If Hawk tightens his bridle?"

Vernon Chwee grinned. "Sure, but first his hand will bite first, and to do so he must tie the woman. The woman will fight back if Mingyu tries to tame her, keep my words. That woman has a bigger spirit than an ordinary woman, and I think also high self-esteem."

Joshua closed his eyes disapproving but amused. "You ignored Mingyu's tremendous influence on women. In a few weeks, the woman will be infatuated with him. On the day the horse race was held, he would tie his door on Mingyu's sleeve and cheer the man up. Two gentlemen, I see you've placed a bet on that. The comparison listed in the betting book in White was already four to one for Mingyu, she would wear a ribbon embedded by Lisa."

"You're wrong, my friend. He'll make things difficult for Mingyu."

"will not. The woman was sober to Mingyu when she came to this city first. Have you forgotten how much he embarrassed himself for Mingyu's sake a few months ago? Ever since Mingyu walked into the church this morning, that's all everyone's been talking about."

"I know, and I bet that woman won't forget either" Vernon said frankly. "I am close to Mingyu's wife and the woman has self-esteem, self-esteem will prevent her from easily falling over to Mingyu, keep my words in mind."

Raising an eyebrow in a defiant manner, Joshua said, "I'll bet 1,000 pounds that he'll pin his ribbon on Mingyu's arm on horse racing day."

"Well," Vernon agreed without hesitation, then they headed straight for White to relax and gamble at the exclusive men's club, but not to record this bet. These bets will remain confidential in honor of their companions.

When Vernon and Joshua were gone, Mingyu walked to the side table and filled his glass. His anger which he carefully covered in front of his friends now was evident on his strained face and hardened jaw as he glanced at his sidekick, Jeon Wonwoo.

"I really hope," she said curiously insinuating, "you're staying here not because you also know some of Lisa's despicable actions, which you might want to tell me personally?"

Jeon Wonwoo laughed out loud. "Absolutely not. When Seungkwan talked about your wife's race at Hyde Park and her fencing match with a gentleman, he clearly mentioned Jisoo's name. I'm sure she'd like to tell you that Jisoo cheered your wife on two wins in that match."

Mingyu gulped down his drink. "So?"

"Jisoo," Wonwoo said, "is my wife."

The glass in Mingyu's hand stopped halfway before it reached his mouth. "What?"

"I'm married."

"Correct?" asked Mingyu indifferently. "Why?"

Jeon Wonwoo grinned. "I can't help myself."

"Then allow me to congratulate you, even if it's too late" Mingyu said. He raised his glass pretending to toast, then he improved his attitude as a result of years of good upbringing.

"I'm sorry for my rudeness, Wonwoo. At this time, marriage is not at the top of the list to celebrate. Is Jisoo someone I know? Have I ever met him?"

"I wish I had never been!" wonwoo said with a loud laugh. "She made her debut right when you left town, and that's a good thing. You'll definitely find him attractive, and I'm forced to challenge you to a fight right now because you might as well go after him."

"I can never even be compared to you" Wonwoo joked, trying hard to lighten his friend's mood. "If I glanced at a lady, her mother would only add the person who was accompanying her. But if you do, every mother dies of fear while hoping for the sky. Of course I don't have the title Kim I can be proud of, and that's why they're so anxious and excited."

"I don't remember playing around with a nice girl who was innocent" Mingyu said as she sat down and looked at her glass.

"You never have. But if your wife and my wife have enough in common to be best friends, I can assume they're pretty similar. And that means your life will be tormented."

"Why?" mingyu asked politely.

"Because from day to day you won't know what he's going to do. And when you find out, you'll die of fear. This afternoon Jisoo told me that she was pregnant, and I had nothing to fear that the baby would be switched by her at birth."

"She's a forgetful?" mingyu asked, trying to seem interested in hearing the story about his friend's new wife, but to no avail.

Wonwoo's eyebrows shot up and he shrugged. "certainly so. Otherwise how could he have forgotten to tell me when I got home from Scotland this afternoon, that he and my best friend's wife, whom I've never seen before, were both involved in some kind of trouble?"

Realizing his efforts to alleviate Mingyu's problems were not so successful, Wonwoo hesitated then reluctantly said, "What are you going to do with your wife?"

"Right now there are several options that are all quite interesting," said Mingyu ketus."I could twist his neck, put him under guard, or send him to Devon and leave him there, away from the public eye."

"Geez, Mingyu, you can't. After the church today, people will think..."

"I don't care what people think" Mingyu said, but it wasn't true and the two men knew. Mingyu angrily imagined himself to be the laughingstock of the people for not being able to control his own wife.

"Maybe he's just full of passion" Jeon Wonwoo dabbled. "Jisoo knew him well and liked him." The man was about to go home and say, "if you're interested, join us at White tomorrow night. We'll gather there for a toast because I'm gonna be a father."

"I will come," Mingyu said as she forced herself to smile.

As Jeon Wonwoo was away, Mingyu stared at the landscape painting above the fireplace, wondering how many lovers Lisa had brought the woman to bed. He saw the innocent, delusional figure that had disappeared from the woman's eyes when they were just the two of them in the sitting room this afternoon. Once upon a time, those big eyes were so witty, gentle and innocent when the woman looked at her. Now the radiance in those eyes had faded from the cold hostility.

Anger raged within Mingyu like wild fire as he pondered the reason why Lisa treated him with hostility today. The woman was sorry she wasn't dead. The innocent and alluring child he married was now angry that he was still alive? The alluring girl he married had turned into a cold, beautiful and calculating cheap woman.

For a few minutes he considered divorcing the woman, but ended up throwing the idea away. In addition to causing a scandal, the divorce took years to complete, while he wanted to have an heir. Kim's men seem cursed to be short-lived, and although Lisa now appears to no longer have any dignity and self-respect, the woman can still conceive her child, if necessary in seclusion, she said, to make sure that the child she contained was really Mingyu's child, not someone else's.

Leaning his head against the back of the chair, Mingyu closed his eyes and took a deep breath trying to control his anger. If he really did, he inevitably felt that he had judged Lisa and determined her future based on rumors. He owed his life to the beautiful and innocent girl he had married. Of course, he also had to give Lisa a chance to defend herself.

Tomorrow I will ask the woman openly about everything I have heard from Seungkwan tonight and give her the opportunity to deny it all, she decided. Lisa has the right to defend herself, as long as she's not stupid enough to lie to him. But if it turns out that the woman is indeed a cunning opportunist or a cheap woman, then she will tame the woman viciously, and the woman deserves it.

Lisa must submit to her will, or she will force the woman to submit, but either way Lisa must learn to behave like a good wife and be devoted to her husband, Mingyu decided coldly.
