Lauden grinned when her kiss was forced off. Lucy froze in place.

"Look at how worried his face was when he blushed. And why are her lips so sweet?" Lauden said in his heart.

Feeling no intention to move from Lucy, Lauden turned her body and held Lucy to her back.

"What are you doing?" lucy shouted because her noisy mind was shocked by Lauden's sudden movements.

"Do you think you can get to town before sunrise without me?" Lauden.

Lucy's mind was still empty after the kiss. He had no idea why Lauden had kissed him so often lately. However, the girl was embarrassed to ask.

He felt awkward being near Lauden. It was a strange feeling he had never felt before. Sometimes, Lauden seemed like an affectionate father rather than an employer to him.

"How can he act as if nothing happened after kissing me?" Lucy asked in her heart.

"Tell me. Is there any chance your dad's going to Xandified?" Lauden asked Lucy.

"Hm... All my father's life, he lived in Xandified. There's no way she'll be anywhere else." Said Lucy.

"alright. I'll try to get to Xandified before dawn" Lauden said.

Lucy was still on his back. He looked at the sky. The moonlight was faintly moving away from them.

The sky in the Dysis forest was getting brighter as if preparing for the dawn.

"Can't vampires stay in the daytime? Will you die if the sun rises?" Ask Lucy curious. He wondered why Lauden had to race against time, so he thought that his master was afraid of the sun as told in a fairy tale or movie he had seen.

Lauden did not answer that stupid question. He had read the story before and considered it a joke for vampires.

"You'll die if you get sunburnt, huh?" Lucy asked again.

This time, he was like a child who often asked the driver who was traveling.

"You tricked me? you're not really sick, are you?" the accusation.

"Yes!" Sent Lucy. "Can't you please don't call people as you please?"

"Didn't you understand up here? This journey is a secret mission. Don't let the royal army capture your father before us, because if that happens, not only your father will die but we will too. Understood?" lauden.

"Okay, I get it." Lucy nodded her head behind Lauden's back.

"After all, we have to hurry before your father takes his toll" Lauden continued.

Lucy laughed lightly while shaking her head slowly.

"I still believe that my father was a good man, he wouldn't do such a thing." Answer Lucy.

"Nothing can stop the thirst for human blood for a vampire."

"Is that so?"

Merqueen was standing by the window of his room. His hands half opened the curtains, peering outside the room.

"I heard, Lethia had another foolish feast," the king told the court's adviser.

"That's right, Your Majesty. And we're figuring out whether Lethia used the government money for her personal use or not" the old man said.

"This time, what's the theme?" Ask the king.

"He said this party is to welcome Miss Lucy" the man replied.

The king laughed.

The king laughed again.

"Your Majesty, since Miss Lucy lives in this castle, what if she we were turned into vampires as well?" The royal adviser suggested.

The king closed his eyes and his hand stroked his chin, thinking that what the court advisor suggested was true as well.

"Lauden will not agree with this idea" the king said as he remembered the son. If not Lauden himself willed, the man would have revolted even if it was the father's order.

"A human living in a vampire castle wouldn't it be better if the girl became a vampire completely?"

"I knew. Whatever Lucy's position is for Lauden, can't it be easy being a human among vampires? So do all the vampires in this castle."

"There's been a mess in Xandified. There has just been a sadistic murder case that shocked the public. And the human investigators found an irregularity in the body of the murder victim, so they suspected that it was not humans who did it." Said the messenger man.

"You sure?" Ask the king.

"That's what I hear noble,"

"If a vampire were to commit the murder, then I'd be the one to exterminate that vampire myself." King says.

No word yet on who did it" replied the messenger man.

"Advisor to the king, set up an investigation team as soon as possible to find out who perpetrated the murder. If it's true that he's a vampire, drag him here. Then, do not forget to remove the traces of the vampire. Make it as if the victim committed suicide" the king ordered.

"wait. Aren't all vampires following Lethia's party tonight? Are there any new vampires among us?" ask king. He furrowed his brows and raised his eyebrows.
