After entering the ship that brought Lieutenant Mas to the port of Bayur Bay, get down all the soldiers to the village, then immediately walk to the city of Padang, There is an uproar the contents of the city, seeing so many soldiers coming; enough with the tools of weapons and cannons.
One asked the other:
..."Why did so many soldiers come?"...
"Don't you know?" answer the questionable. "The whole Dutch colony will be destroyed, for the sons of the land will resist; they will not pay for mercy."
The news of the arrival of the army, this, that instant also broke to and fro, to the outside of the city, so that women and children also knew this. Then talk about the war that will happen.
The cowardly, flee into the mountains with his young son and his possessions; the brave stay in the city, wanting to see an outing of war. The rich, the many, fear that their property may be taken away.
The many children and relatives, horrified, afraid of their wives and families being carried away in distress. Only the colonizing nation is happy with his heart, because there is hope that he will be able to steal and daydream easily and with all his satisfaction.
The merchants were no less worried, for in the case, surely his business would fall, because of this war. Similarly, Government officials, pounding their hearts, fearing in case the soldiers lose.
If so, they will not be forgiven by the rioters, for those who do not want to fight, they will be seen as their enemies.
Only the rioters were furious to see, the Government army came that much and hot heart, then thought to find the sense would deceive this soldier.
After the army arrived at Padang, Lieutenant Mas went to his Captain, asking permission to leave for a while with a promise, will return soon anyway, because it is a very important requirement for him.
At first it seems that his capital did not want to give this permission but when he saw Mas asked very, very well, he also asked the request with a message, so as not to pass from six o'clock in the afternoon.
Because at that time the day was only half five, think Lieutenant Mas in his heart, "It is certainly not too late for me to return."
He immediately called a rented bendi, then headed to Muara. After he arrived there, across the river Arau by boat and climbed Mount Padang.
On the way he met a devotee, who lived on the mountain, and asked him where the tomb of His Majesty Sulaiman, the merchant who had gone home about ten years ago.
Although the poor man was astonished to hear these words and thought in his heart, why did a lieutenant ask the grave of a Malay man, but he also showed it.
After reaching this tomb, was seen by Lieutenant Mas three graves in a place that fenced the wall. Two of these graves, they are near; one is a little far away.
When the letter written on the tombstone near him was read, that the tomb was what he was looking for.
Unsuffered by Lieutenant Mas his heart, he immediately entered this tomb, then knelt between the two distant graves, hugging them both with both hands.
There he sobbed, wailing, "Ohai Nurbaya and the mother whom I loved dearly! Why until the true heart leaves the servant alone on this earth? Walk without words, go without carrying around.
Why is it that no servant goes with him and no servant awaits him, so that he may accompany him, on such a long journey?
And when it has been abandoned, why not be picked up soon, left ten years for the servant to wander here and there, seeking the way will follow Mother and Adinda, and the, until this time the work was in vain.
Ohuhai! When is the time when we will be able to meet again and when will the time be when we will be able to gather and talk, as before?
Mother and Nur, pray to Allah subhanahu watala, so that He may not prolong the age of this servant any longer and soon meet Him all of us; for love life is like this, so it is not suffered by the servant.
Suffice it to be ten years for the servant to bear the torment and torment which no man has borne, and the servant should be released from such a prison.
Oh Nur, my sister! I never thought this would be how we end up. Why are all people's hopes and ideals granted, but our hopes and ideals are made like this?
What is your fault, and my fault and our fault, and have such a fate? Already in this world, all our hopes and requests, which we have treasured some time, are not granted, in the hereafter will God speak, all those ideals?
Ah, my race is not a poor human being like this one of us! Ten years I have endured sorrow and sorrow; ten years I have endured vengeance, for you, but until now, God has not given me this I mean.
How long do I have to wait?
But oya, Nur; I have obtained an address, that I will soon be met with thee, for this is the end of my side. May this be so; pray together.
Something I don't know yet, which is can I claim your favor or not? But even if it cannot, Almighty God will not forget that every mistake will not escape his punishment. Let us worship his guilt together."
Then the second Lieutenant Mas kissed the tombstone, then stood up slowly and said to the fakir who was still dumbfounded standing there, seeing the behavior of this lieutenant, because he was surprised, why a Dutchman, who, weeping in the grave of an Islamic!
"Fakir, teach you there, to the spirits of all who have died. This is my alms-giving servant!" then the issuance of a paper money of ten rupiah from inside the place of money, given to this fakir.
Because in his lifetime, this fakir had never received so many gifts, so much joy in his heart, and then taught overnight in the tomb.
While Lieutenant Mas went to Mount Padang, word came from the Governor of Padang, saying that night the rioters would enter the city, making a riot.
Therefore, a portion of the soldiers were asked, to go out of the city, to block this enemy, so as not to fight in the city.
At about seven o'clock in the evening, a squad of soldiers led by Lieutenant Mas and Van Sta, left Padang for Central City. Nine o'clock, they came to Tabing and no sooner had they come to Central City.
From afar there were seen dozens of people; all wearing white, gathering on the side of the road, in front of a shop; apparently they were making out, how to attack. All armed with a machete.
When it was seen by the army rioters coming, stir up all of them; some took their weapons, some drew their keris, some peed, some shouted to call friends, some were cursing and some were referring to their weapons; their various behaviors.
After almost to them this, Lieutenant Mas ordered his soldiers to stop and lined them up. A slacker who followed together came forward, telling the rioters to surrender himself.
But let alone in-indicate them, the slack is what he bermaki-makanya, while pushing invite fight.
After three leniency persuaded meekly, telling them to surrender - not to be heard by the men, handed over - power to Lieutenant Mas.
Lieutenant Mas assembled his squad, then ordered to shoot into the air. At once it also sounded about thirty pounds, at once.
When the rioters heard this noise and saw it, no one was hit, increasing their courage, because in his case they were not eaten by a son anymore, the blessing of a sentence he had obtained from his teacher.
So they cheered and the ratib said "La ilaha illallah" and came forward. After they had come close, Lieutenant Mas ordered to make the bed.
When you sound the second time, fall down a line of people in the face, fall to the ground. Some scream, some scream, some ask for help and some continue to mourn, but many do not speak anymore because they continue to die.
The rioter who stood behind, confused as it were, did not know what it was doing. When it rang the third time, the rioters broke out, because many died. Which one lives running away from the divorce coming here, bringing himself each.
But at once, some old men and hajjj came out of the house, and cried out to all those who had fled, and pulled out their keris and came forward.
Seeing this courage, turn back those who run, and follow their teachers with a cheer, attacking the soldiers from both sides.
Because quickly came they pollinated him, soldiers Lieutenant Mas, was not able to shoot again, then use the bayonet. Immediately become the peace of the war, each looking for his opponent.
Some are fighting, some are laying swords, some are stalking, beating, catching and slamming. The dead, the fallen, the wounded, the bleeding, the fearful, the running, the brave chasing.
Some are advancing, some are retreating, some are jumping, their various behaviors. Sounds also varied heard, trembling tempita, no thought of sound anymore, also meddled by beds, pistols, swords and machetes.
Even though the moon is bright, but in that place it is dark, because of the smoke. And if their clothes are not very different, namely black and white, surely not necessarily the opponent of friends.
Lieutenant Mas with the rioting head, looks equally mobilized his troops, ordered forward while berputil and menetak.
No matter how long the war was, many died and were wounded on both sides. Blood flowed on the highway and corpses scattered here and there.
Because from the village there is no end to the help of the rioters, is not restrained by Lieutenant Mas attack his enemy, so he told the troops to retreat slowly. If there was no help from Lieutenant Van Sta, there would have been a war between Lieutenant Mas.
Fortunately at that time also heard the cheer of Lieutenant Van Sta, who pollinated themselves into the battlefield.
No matter how long after that, the rioters slowly and finally, when their help did not come again, their war broke out, and they ran away, hunted by the second lieutenant.
When chasing the rioters, seen by Lieutenant Mas, one of their heads, wake up, travel and his voice is similar to the wake, journey and voice of Datuk Maringgih, his enemy has long been sought.
Then the heart of Lieutenant Mas thumped and shook his hand and changed his face, as a joy to be mixed with grief. Love because there is hope will be able to avenge his heartache, and sorrow for remembering all the evils that have been done by the bastard.
When the chief of this rioter was about to flee, he descended the man with no further thought.
After facing them, turn to Lieutenant Mas, that his guess was correct, because in fact Datuk Meringgih, the executioner of Nurbaya, who stood in his face, and he said, "Latuk Meringgih! Are you really this?"
"Yes, I am Datuk Meringgih, a rich merchant in this Padang," replied the chief rioter. "Who are you, then know me?
After observing this Lieutenant Mas, he was surprised and receded a few steps back, shouting, "Samsulbahri! You're not dead? Or is this what it is?"
"When it also jumped he came back to face, about to strike Lieutenant Mas. Lieutenant Mas jumped to the right, then said, "Wait a minute, Datuk Meringgih! Because there is so much in my heart that I want to tell you before I am forced to take your life."
Hearing these words stood Datuk Meringgih, because he wanted to know what his enemy would say. "Coughs Moan!
Verily I am Samsulbahri, who was dead ten years ago, but who was taken from the grave to punish you for all your wicked crimes.
When I turned myself around in Jakarta, because I'd rather die than live to endure the suffering that comes from your actions, it's not until God I mean it. Apparently I first have to sue for all your mistakes.
That's why the bullet I was aiming at my head, didn't go through my brain. Because I was aghast, hearing the voice of my best friend, Arifin, who was shouting at that time, and my hands swayed, so that the child was lying, just to break my bones.
When I became aware of myself, I asked the doctor and all the people who knew about me, so that the news of me would come back to life, not to be broadcast everywhere, because in my mind, I was told, I'd rather think people have died than lived like that.
Several times I have sought death, but none can, for the Lord still lengthens my age, that I may punish you for all your sins.
For ten years I endured unbearable sorrow and sorrow, ten years I have grudges in my heart for you.
Now the Lord has spoken, I mean that; now can I bring to justice those whom you have persecuted, you great criminals!
Because of your wealth, you are arrogant and proud and committed to God, who has given you that wealth. In your case with that wealth you can certainly do as you wish.
The high you drop, the noble you despise, the rich you mikkinkan with no sight-seeing, no view-viewing and no pity, the origin of your evil and despicable lust can you fulfill.
Hi Durhaka datuk! Your wealth does not offer harm to your friends, your acquaintances, your fellow human beings and to yourself, but brings all harm, suffering, and suffering to the land.
You are not worthy of God's grace with such a powerful weapon.
With your wealth you divorced the son of his father, the sister of his brother, preoccupied with his society, the friend of his sidekick.
With your riches you have overthrown His Holiness Sulayman, until you return to mercy, because of sorrow; with your riches you have forced his son according to your vile preferences, his beloved and brother you have persecuted him to the point of dying in the sea.
Then you're accused of stealing your things that you acquired by deceit, the sweat blood of others. When you will no longer force the innocent Nurbaya, you will kill her with poison.
With your riches you divorced me from my mothers and my family and you broke my hope of being a good man, so my mother died of grief.
And yet, not a hundredth of all your sins that you shall owe. Hi Grandfather Meringgih! Doesn't it feel like your mistake? Do you not fear the Lord, who has given you all that power?
Is there no shame to your neighbor, whom you deceive? And there is no mercy for you to all of them, who have been your sacrifice?"
Samsulbahri paused with such words, as he was full of his chest and short of breath, holding back his unplanned heart here.
Datuk Meringgih did not answer a word, because it was only felt at that time, the truth of Samsulbahri's words. It was there that it became clear to him, that in fact up to that time, he had not yet done good with his many treasures.
If he were to die in this war, his wealth would be divided among the living and would he be taken to the tomb? No other name is evil, swearing, swearing and maki all those who have been persecuted.
And of course they will bless him in his grave. If he does good, perhaps he will also pray for his spirit.
There, when he fell to the door of the tomb, he was newly inspired, that the treasures of the world were very little, for his life in the land of the afterlife. Then there arose regret in his heart for his past deeds.
But what to say, because when he felt it, he could no longer correct his mistake.
After a moment of silence, Samsulbahri also said by sweeping his tears, which he could not hold, "Hi Datuk Meringgih! Now I will show you that there is more to you than your treasure.
Although it is a hundred times more valuable than you have now, it will not be able to change my mind, to avenge your evil and it will not be able to help deliver you out of my hands.
Accept your punishment!" then Samsu lifted his pestol, shot Datuk Meringgih. But then Datuk Meringgih jumped in the face, and struck Samsulbahri with his machete, shouting, "Taste me by my former hand, O Dutch dog!"
After that, both fell to the ground; Datuk Meringgih because of the bullet Samsulbahri, which penetrated his chest and heart and Samsulbahri, because it hit the machete Datuk Meringgih his head.
When appointed by Lieutenant Mas by serdadwrya, seen among the bodies of the rioters, two bodies wearing black that one neck almost broke, apparently got run over, apparently, the other one had his chest pierced by a bayonet.
That is the body of the Swordsman of Five and the Swordsman of the Four, who received punishment from the Almighty for all his crimes.
Two days later from the battle mentioned above, it was seen in the hospital in Padang, an officer, sleeping on a bed, covered in a white blanket.
Apparently he was very sick, because almost all of his head was wrapped in white bandages, so only his face was visible, which was pale in color.
Near this bed stood a guard, who was arranging medicine glasses, slowly; he was afraid, just in case the sick man was surprised to wake up. At that time entered a Dutch doctor, about to check the state of this sick man.
Hearing the sound of the sick doctor's shoes opened his eyes and looked at the doctor. It was real, the sick eyes had blurred their color and the scene had been weak.
The incoming doctor greeted him immediately, then asked, "How are you?" "The feeling of the body is a little good, even though the headache has not gone right," replied the sick slowly. .
"Indeed, the headache in addition to these two three days may still be present," then the doctor examined the young skin of the eye and the way of blood at the base of the arm of the sick. "How hot was he this morning?" ask the doctor to the guard.
"There is a servant writing," answered the guard, showing him a list. After Doukter saw this list, he fell silent.
"Mr Doctor," said the sick man suddenly. "Even though the servant said before, the feeling of the body of the servant was pleased a little, but the pleasure, in the thought of the servant, was not the pleasure of being healed.
Do not be angry, if I say, that I will live on this earth no longer; for this is the feeling of the servant. Do not hide the income of the Master to the servant, because for example, the Lord is worried, the servant is afraid to die. Not once.
Death has long been wanted and has been sought by slaves everywhere. Only now I have obtained. Thank goodness!
After all last night the servant had been visited by the lover and mother of the servant, who had long since left this world. They promised that today they would come back to pick up the servant so that they could go together to their place."
"If you feel tired, it's better not to speak first" said the doctor.
After having been silent for a while the sick man stammered himself, to continue his words, "Nothing Mr. Doctor. Don't worry! The headache came a little. Before the servant leaves this world there is a request of the servant to the Master."
"What kind of bond is that? Say it! If you can, of course I will grant." said the doctor.
"Hamba really wants to meet with Sutan Mahmud, Penghulu in Padang. Can I?" ask the sick slowly dashed his voice.
"Of course I can." replied the doctor, although he did not understand why an army officer, wanted to meet a Malay Padang. "So soon he will ask me to come here. Is there any more request sir?" "No. That'sallthatis. Thank you!" answer the sick.
"Alright," said the doctor, then went outside, to call Sutan Mahmud.
After leaving the doctor, the sick fell asleep again, exhausted from the words.
Two hours later Sutan Mahmud came to this hospital, and was taken by guards into the hospital's officer room.
When Sutan Mahmud saw the face of the sick, he was very surprised, because the appearance of this officer was not unlike the appearance of his son Samsulbahri, who had died in Jakarta, ten years ago.
With no restraint, she had tears in her eyes, because she remembered the fate of her poor son, who had killed himself, out of desperation. Never thought it would be so fortunate for his son who is a single eye.
In fact, he had long regretted his actions, which were stirred up over his son.
Because of the actions of his son in connection with the nation and his high rank, the expulsion of his son, so that his wife who was only one, died of grief and his only child committed suicide, because of grief.
After the death of this child and after thinking about really this matter, felt by him, that the fault of his son was actually nothing.
His love for Nurbaya, can not be blamed; because since childhood he mixed slang with his best friend's son, as a sibling. His guess, even his hope, Nurbaya will be the wife of his children.
Although the Nurbaya is not high-nation, but that's okay. Her beauty, her cleverness and her good behavior, have been enough to substitute for the loss of Padang's nobility.
his wife, Mother Samsu, was not a citizen, but was nothing to the life of married people. Indeed, Samsu should be paired with Nurbaya, a beautiful, agile. Such is the memory of Sutan Mahmud.
So imagine in his eyes at that time, his son sat down to rejoice with Nurbaya, as a married person. Samsu as a doctor and Nurbaya, is holding a son, his grandson.
"Ah, if there is no Datuk Meringgih that bastard, surely my memories are not ideals, but the truth is. And if it were not for my high nation and rank, perhaps I would not have driven away my son with one eye. Now what is it to say?
Because they are no longer in this world. May in the Hereafter be given all the ideals and desires of his heart, which he has not obtained in this world."
There were tears in his eyes, falling apart with no feeling.
Verily so, the heart of Sutan Mahmud. Once regretted income, then regretted useless, said the saying. Even if you cry out to heaven, your error cannot be corrected.
If there is no hurry for you to drop your grief on your son at that time, perhaps there will be no such misery and sorrow and you can reach your goals just now. But since you are still very much bound by the splendor of your rank and nation, so be the end.
Of course; the mouth is pushed, the mass is pushed; your punishment is impelled upon your son, the misery and death of some retaliates.
"More is your sin for your iniquity, for you are a head of the land, a mother, a place of asking, a place of asking, a place of heat, a shelter of rain, for your men.
You are the one who must finish the tangled, muddy and repair the broken.
When thou hast given to thy own son such a severe punishment, just because thou thoughtest to do so, because of thy nobility and your high rank, whether thou shalt do thy duty with all truthfulness and best unto another, ''' Every iniquity has its penalty, and this is the punishment which the Lord hath inflicted upon thee.
I hope you can pluck it like that!
While Sutan Mahmud stood pensively thinking of the good fortune of his poor son and missed him and regretted his hasty actions, waiting for the sick to wake up, he said, the doctor entered the room and so the sick man woke up from his sleep, opened his eyes and turned to the left.
When the dililiatnya Sutan Mahmud, then he noticed this Penghulu for a long time. Then closed his eyes and dambainya Penghulu with his hands, so that come closer to him.
The doctor and the guard stood some distance away, for there was no need to listen to a conversation that others might not hear.
As Nenohulu Sutan Mahmud approached, the sick man said slowly with a broken voice, "My Lord Penghulu! The servant asked my Lord to come here, because it is a secret that I want to open, before the servant returns.
The secret is the request of my own son, Samsulbahri."
"Samsulbahri's son who died in Jakarta?" sutan Mahmud asked in surprise.
"Yes, that Samsu, who is not dead" said the sick man.
"Samsu is not dead. The slave's son isn't dead?" ask Sutan Mahmud in a hurry and very funny.
"True," said the sick man.
"So he's alive now? Where is it at this time? ... But do you know this."
"For the servant was in the hospital, where he was treated," the sick man told him about Samsu's shooting in Jakarta and why he was said to have died. Then he entered the army, seeking death, but he did not get it either.
Finally he was told to go to Padang to quell the riots.
"If so, he is in Padang right now" said Sutan Mahmud and his face shone with fondness.
"Truly he came with the servants here and fought with the servants as well. His rank is Lieutenant and his name is Mas, which is the exact opposite of his name. Sam."
Because of this conversation apparently the sick grew tired so that even said almost unable to. His face grew pale and often he clenched his head, in pain.
After stopping for a moment, he said as he raised his head slightly, as he was worried, his voice would not be heard by Sutan Mahmud.
"This is the message: if .. .. he died. asked... buried ... between ... his mother ... and ... Nurbai ... Allah Akbar!"
When these words were finished, the sick man's breath was finished, and he fell to his bed and went home in peace.
Although the patient's death was very calm and easy apparently, because the face of the corpse did not change, as a person who sleeps normally, while on his lips still smile, he still smiled, it was as if he liked to leave this mortal world, but Sutan Mahmud was extremely aghast, seeing this sudden death.
After he commited to recite the prayer for a long time, asking, "Know Tuan, Lieutenant Mas who came from Jakarta, together with this recently deceased Master? Where is he now?"
"Mas Lieutenant?" ask the doctor in surprise.
"Yes, Lieutenant Mas, who came here to fight with the rioters in Padang" said Sutan Mahmud.
"There is no other, but this is it, the recently deceased" replied the doctor.
When Sutan Mahmud heard this doctor's words, he strangled, and hugged and kissed the body, weeping bitterly; for now it was the man who had just died, the sick man, none but his own son, Samsulbahri, who had longed for him for ten years, now died before him, with his unknown.
"Oh my son, my eyes!! Why is it not said first, so that you do not know your own child. Indeed, since the sight of your face earlier, ayanda has been suspicious; but do not dare to justify the conjecture, because it is impossible to taste. Ooh!
Why is Ananda not willing to confess frankly, but to hide himself, until ananda is no more. Perhaps Ananda was still angry with Ayanda, so that he would not confess his father again to Ayanda.
Has long been ayanda rasai and know the fault of Ayanda, for having imposed severe punishment, on Ananda, with no suggestion of the best examination, so that the regret that never broke, has teased ayanda.
Therefore, banyan verily pardon Ananda, the world and the Hereafter.
Oohai Ananda! Why is it that while living in ten years, there is no going back to Ayanda, that ayanda is given only one chance at a time, to converse with Ananda, whom Ananda no longer knows, at the end of Ananda's life?
Ayanda's fault with Ananda is great, but Ananda also deserves the lack of parents, who are bound by the customs of his country, as this ayanda.
Now what is the use of ayanda to live again, alone on this earth, for Ananda is no more; and Ananda's mother has long left her. Bring Ayanda together, so that we may be mingled, as before.
Do not be left alone, on this earth!
"Oh my God, my Lord! Quickly take away my life, so that I may meet again with my wives!"
Then faint Sutan Mahmud, no more telling himself.
The next day a body was carried from the house of Sutan Mahmud, Penghulu in Padang, which was carried by four Heads of Kampung. This body, as is customary in Padang, is covered with a white cloth, which is full of flowers.
Side to face, in the middle and back, the body was covered with a yellow umbrella, the sign of the deceased was a high nobleman. On the face of the corpse, walked two young people. Which burns the handlebars and agarwood in a fumigation placed on a silver tray.
The other brought flowers and sandalwood. On the right left of this corpse, walked some noble youths, who carried spears and shields, swords and banners, and others, who were usually brought in the funerary ceremonies of the sons of kings.
Only drums and serunilanya that does not sound, because it is not allowed by the scholars.
Behind this body, there are hajjis, sheikhs, clerics, who are unceasingly reciting prayers. Behind them, walked the dignitaries, officers, Chiefs, elders, ingenious scholars, nobles and commoners.
Behind that too, lined up soldiers wearing oversized clothes.
Initially music and gunfire would be included, according to the rules of the army, but this was also not justified by the clergy. In closing, there are vehicles of the city of Padang magnifiers, from all nations lined up far back.
Whose body is that? That is the body of Samsulbahri, son of Sutan Mahmud, the famous Penghulu Padang, as a high nobleman, who is respected and glorified by people.
To his acquaintance, Samsulbahri was a kind man, a loving speaker, a helper with no regard for looks and nation. In the army was Lieutenant Mas, who was famous for his valiant and had helped the Government in some difficulties of war.
That is why, when his life his chest was decorated with several stars. For his family, he was a beloved child.
Among the crowd, who delivered this corpse, there appeared a hunchback old man, who had white hair, walking slowly by the side of the corpse, intermittently asking to join the trade in this corpse, who was, with tears welled up in her eyes, she said to herself, "Yes, this is the restraint of the one whom the Lord has given a long life.
All the young, who preceded him, must be delivered one into the tomb, until his turn comes, he himself delivered to his tomb.
"It is a hard step for those who must see their beloved born and taken again, by the Almighty. His mother I saw was born, and ten years ago, I let him have a burial. This child, I saw was born.
Now I have to take him to his grave. But myself, when will it be my turn? And who will take me to my grave?" Such was the mind of the old man, the coachman Ali who was very attached to his heart to Samsulbahri and his mother.
Among the women, many of whom went to deliver, Sitti Alirnah was seen with her mothers, as she remembered Sitti Nurbaya, the deceased lover.
After Samsulbahri's body was taken to the mosque and worshipped there, it was then taken to Mount Padang, where the tomb requested by the deceased.
Upon reaching there the body of Samsulbahri was lowered into the tomb, which was located between the grave of his mother and Sitti Nurbaya, his lover, as he requested, at the end of his life, and then piled up and hoarded the grave. Then talkin was read.
All the Dutch and other national authorities also filled the tomb with a piece of land and finally watered the tomb with sandalwood water and spread flowers on it.
After that, a soldier, commemorating the heroism and loyalty of the deceased, to the Government. It is the first son of the state that can reach such a high rank in the army.
Then he said, so that the dead soul gets rape and welfare in the afterlife.
After Sutan Mahmud thanked this ruler and to all those who had come to show the sorrow of his heart, with great difficulty, and with difficulty, participate in saving the body of his son and after being asked for his forgiveness for all the sins of his son's guilt, who can bless him in his grave and after being asked for prayers that are present to God taala, he said, for the safety of Samsulbahri, return to their homes.
Only Sutan Mahmud with some pilgrimages still live there. Then they went home and lived Sutan Mahmud with coachman Ali, pensively sitting on a rock.
Apparently Sutan Mahmud was too sad because of the death of his son and very sorry for his past actions.
After nightfall, walk the two of them from there and sunnya in the tomb. Only Samsulbahrilah remained alone, in this place of beginning and end.
Insaflah man will be you, so will your end!
Two months later, one day, two young people boarded a bendi to Muara. Although their clothes are European, but the black coffee states, that they are Bumiputra, the state child there.
One of them, a doctor and another, an officer. Both of them held a bunch of flowers in their hands. After reaching Muara, they crossed the Arau river and climbed Mount Padang.
When they came to their place, they saw there, five graves close together. The five graves were as large and of the same shape. At each of the heads of this tomb, there was a marble tombstone, which was inscribed with the letter of a gold water.
In the first tomb it says "This is the tomb of His Majesty Sulaiman, died on 5 Ramadan, 1315"
On the second tomb it says "This is the tomb of Siti Nurbaya, binti Baginda Sulaiman died on 5 Zulhidjdjah in 1315".
On the third tomb it says "This is the grave of Samsulbahri, son of Sutan Mahmud, Penghulu Padang, died on 5 Syafar, 1326".
On the fourth tomb it says, "This is the grave of Sitti Maryam, wife of Sutan Mahmud, Penghulu Padang, died on 5 Zulhijah 1315."
On the fifth tomb it says "This is the grave of Sutan Mahmud, Penghulu Padang, died on 8 Rabiulawal, 1326".
The two young men sprinkled the flowers on these five graves, above the second and third graves, with tears in their eyes. "Bakhtiar!" said the doctor.
"Do you think that, when you were about eleven years ago, walking with Samsu and Nurbaya here, we will visit her grave here at this time? Do you remember that time, three months before we left for Jakarta?"
"Truly, Arifin," replied the opseter, "I never thought. But what to say? For man cannot do as he wills, but must keep all the promises he has made.
Nevertheless, these five of them have been real and have remained their place, near to the fifth. But we are, not necessarily, out of nowhere, with whom."
"But why did Engku Sutan Mahmud suddenly die? Does pain?" ask Arifin anyway.
"Hinduced his children, sorry for what he did" replied Bakhtiar.
"Pity," said Arifin.
After they were told some devotees to study there, the two returned home. Only those who have been buried will live there forever.
