The Stain of the Past

“Bang, wake up!” hanna's voice woke me up.

“Abang, let's get up!”

Again, Hanna's voice kept waking me up in the morning. Not just saying my name. He also kept shaking my body and making me angry.

“What the hell, Han? It's Sunday, Brother wants to sleep!” I answered while rounding my eyes.

“Say Mama tell me to change clothes quickly. We will go to the wedding of Aunt Sandra,”, Hanna reminded.

I'm sitting on the bed. A moment of silence gathered my body that was still not fully conscious.

“Hideki? Hanna's? Quick shower! We're almost late!” screeched Mama from below.

“Iya, Ma! It's so hard to build!” answer Hanna.

“Ah .. pake says Brother who is calling again!”

I got out of bed directing my feet to the bathroom.

We are twin brothers. Hanna was born five minutes after I first breathed in the world.

I went out of the bathroom and wore clothes that had been prepared long ago. Don't forget I sprayed perfume. My mom has been screaming since I called my name. He was tired of calling our names.

“Hideki, really long!” nagel Mom.

“Hideki is ready, Ma! There is also Hanna tuh who has not finished bathing.”

“Oh, you guys are a habit always slow! from last night Mama has learned not to sleep late at night because we will go to Surabaya to attend Sandra's wedding, your aunt!” mom's nagging is long.

I just keep quiet when Mama gets angry. No one dared to fight. Because Mama likes to carry the name of heaven. Who doesn't want to go to heaven?

“Gini deh, Mama and Papa leave first, later you follow Hanna. Only an hour's drive, you bring your own car. Mama does not want to be late to attend the wedding of Mama's sister!” brightest.

“But, Ma!”

“No but-but anyway Mama wait for you there! Watch out not for too long. Tell your sister to make it faster!” mama said then passed away.

I don't know why it's hard for my heart to let Mama go right now. Wanted to hold back but Mama had already made an inviolable decision.

The sound of Papa's car engine was about to go to the wedding of Aunt Sandra. While I was just watching their departure from the window of the room on the second floor.

After the invisible car. I sat on the edge of the bed, grabbing the phone lying on the nightstand. Playing a favorite online game.

Why do I keep thinking about Mama?

I walked to Hanna's room next to mine.

“Han!” call me while knocking on the door.

Chequek!

The door to the room is open.

“Udah is done yet? Long time!” my scolding of Hanna.

“Ish, Patience! Girls are old when they dance!” his objection.

“Mama and Papa have left, we ask quickly to follow!” I said that I could no longer wait for Hanna who was too long to dress up.

“Iya jerk, five more minutes!”

JEDUK!

Hanna shut the door.

Hanna and I drove in a red car to Aunt Sandra's wedding. The journey was quite smooth, the time has shown at nine in the morning.

We finally got to Aunt Sandra's house. Grandpa and Grandma have been gone for a long time. Hence, Mama was eager to witness the marriage of this one and only brother.

Baby though. Ijab show is over. Guests also seem to be eating.

“Hideki! Hanna!”

Aunt Sandra called our names while waving her hands.

“Where are you guys?” aunt Sandra asked when we approached her.

“Can already depart from earlier, Tan!” answer Hanna.

Silent.

Ddrrrt!

Amidst the confusion, Hanna's phone shook in her little bag. He grabbed and looked at the phone screen.

“Mama?”

Hanna's eyes were rounded when she looked at the screen of her phone.

“Thanks, Han!” aunt Sandra's Titah.

Hanna picked up the phone. Instantly the pair of brown neutrals glazed over when a faint sound of the voice of someone who knew who it was.

Pork!

Hanna fainted.

We panicked to see Hanna who suddenly collapsed while picking up the phone. The party was a bit chaotic as Hanna's body drooped on the floor.

Aunt Sandra and the residents carry Hanna's body to be brought into the house. While I grabbed the dropped phone, I thought it was dead but there was still a sound.

[Hello,] I answered on the phone.

[Good morning, we from the police department reported that we found a pair of bodies of husband and wife due to an accident, on behalf of Ms. Humeera and Mr. Kavinda Arterio are now in the Surabaya hospital.]

Prak!

Cell phone fell.

My feet were shaking until I sat on the floor. Shock to hear bad news from the police. Trying to deny it, but it's Mama's phone.

Why is all this happening God?

***

I drove the vehicle at high speed and hoped that this news was a lie. Many times Aunt Sandra made me realize when I was about to bump into someone on the street. Until finally control of the steering wheel was taken over by Aunt Sandra because of fear. While the party was left just like that, it might as well have disbanded.

Finally we reached the hospital and rushed to the morgue as reported by the police.

We were guided to the two bodies that had been covered in shrouds, with a heavy heart I pulled the cloth.

My legs trembled, unable to even support my own body anymore after seeing my parents' pale faces.

“No, no. That's not my parents!” elakku tried to deny.

Aunt Sandra approached me, she hugged me to calm down, “Prophe yes, Hid. This is the way,” said Aunt Sandra who tried to strengthen me but herself even cried.

I tried hard and accepted the reality, but what about Hanna?

I'm trailing a speeding ambulance to Aunt Sandra's house. In a raging heart, how will Hanna expression later?

We finally got to Aunt Sandra's house. But my reflection was wrong, Hanna looked strong when she saw the bodies of both our parents being released in the ambulance even during the funeral. He just drowned his face in this chest while hugging me.

Evening has arrived. We stayed at Aunt Sandra's house. Hearing there was a commotion inside Aunt Sandra's room, but I didn't care about it because it wasn't my business.

I chose to go to the room to accompany Hanna. Not too long ago, Aunt Sandra caught up with us.

“Hideki, Hanna. Auntie would like to apologize to you. Tomorrow Aunt will join Aunt husband to Kalimantan and this house will be sold,” said Aunt Sandra.

“Ya already, tomorrow we go home again, Tan,” I replied.

“Sorry Yes Hid, Han?” said Aunt Sanda while shedding tears.

I smile.

*

Early in the morning after me and Hanna to Mama and Papa's navel, we finally returned home. It's heavy, but what else? This is a sign of destiny.

We also sat on a sofa that was quite comfortable at home suddenly the door was knocked. Hanna shuffled down from the sofa and opened the door.

“Where are your parents?” the voice of a man.

I approached, it turned out that not only one but quite a lot of men with rogue faces.

“What is this, Bang?” ask them. Hanna was hiding behind me.

“Where are your parents?” said rough.

“Our parents died, Bang.”

Haha ... They laugh.

“Don't lie to you! A few days ago I saw your parents were still in good health. Your ungodly son!” cercanya.

“Suer, Bang! I'm not lying!” I held out my two fingers.

They still don't believe. Eventually we were both evicted from this house because the deed of the house had moved on to them. They said that our parents had borrowed large amounts of money. Worse yet, the office was closed when it found out that Papa had a lot of debt.

Finally we went out of this house just carrying a few clothes in a backpack.

“Bang, where are we going?” hanna asked as her footsteps swung in no direction.

Silent.

I was just silent, unable to answer anything because this self also did not know where to go? Got Brother One from Mama, will go, even his house will be sold.

“Abang? Where are we going?” the second time Hanna questioned me.

“We contracted yes, Han.”

“There is money?”

“There is one room to contract.”

Hanna nodded.

***

We had been out of school for a month because we couldn't afford it. After Papa and Mama died, I worked in a workshop with people. While Hanna was at home he sold rice sitting on the rented terrace.

Until one day I was shocked when I saw the contract fall apart.

Hanna sat speechless in a corner near the closet with a disheveled appearance and a shirt that had been torn off.

“Why are you, Han?” ask me and then come closer.

“Abang!”

Hanna hugged me tight.

“What happened?” I asked with a look of wonder.

Silent.

Hanna was silent, she was mutely unwilling to answer any questions from me. Finally after I forced her, Hanna wanted to tell me the chronology of what happened to her at that time.

There was a man who got into a contract, he put on a mask so his face was invisible and raped Hanna.

My God, what more trials have you given me?

.

Day by day Hanna was getting out of control. Until I often get complaints from neighbors because of his actions.

There was something strange about Hanna's stomach that seemed to grow bigger over time. I persuaded him to go to the midwife to have him examined.

Really, I was surprised by the examination of the midwife who told me that Hanna was pregnant.

Like lightning in broad daylight that strikes this body. My world was devastated when I heard my only sister was pregnant from being raped. How do you report to the police? Hanna was like this, depressed.

This is a nadir point for me. Where I feel tired of the events that happen to me. Starting from losing both parents and now my sister is depressed because of being raped.

Having a brother but feeling alone. Now I have to work not only to pay for food and rent, but I also have to think about Hanna who is in a mental hospital.

**

Hanna's stomach was getting bigger until her son was born and I also had to take care of him.

But the cry of the little one made me rise from the slump to get excited again to live it, because I still have a family that is a little angel who is none other than the son of Hanna who is in a mental hospital.

I started to open a workshop in rented so that I could work while watching the little angel who had a handsome face.

***

Years continued to turn, the workshop was getting bigger as the age of the handsome man I gave the name Kenan.

“Pa, where are we going?” ask Kenan.

“Ke hospital.”

“Assyik!”

Kenan looked happy when he heard that we were going to the hospital.

Kenan is in elementary school. He does not know the real situation, if in fact I am Omnya not his Papa. I will keep it a secret until he grows up and can understand what happened to his mother who is now crazy.

We went on a motorbike. Kenan looks happy. It was a cheerful look when chatting with Hanna. Perhaps, even though Hanna is crazy now, the bond between mother and child remains.

“Pa, Mom. Kenan wants to go to the toilet for a while, huh?” his pamit to us.

I'm nodding.

Kenan also walked to the toilet he had already memorized his position where, we quite often visit Hanna here, in the mental hospital.

“Han, don't think of Kenan as a stain in your past. Think of Kenan as a diamond, because he is worth sharing diamonds. Kenan is innocent, he is just a victim of that depraved man,” I told Hanna.

Although it feels futile, but I always remind Hanna that Kenan is not a stain for her!
