37. Joint

As Arfian circulated his eyes once more, he was shocked to see a woman sleeping on the sofa by the window. He focused his still blurred eyes to find out who the sleeping woman was.

Arfian saw a woman who even though she had short hair still looks feminine, wearing casual clothes: t-shirts, sebetis skirts and sporty shoes.

His heart was racing very hard. She looks a lot like Keisha. Arfian felt that he was dreaming, and in the dream Keisha was in the hospital to take care of himself.

Arfian coughed because of his dry throat. He felt very thirsty. His hands were trying to reach the glass filled with drinking water located on the nightstand. But because his hand was still weak, he did not manage to grab the glass and caused the lid of the glass to fall to the floor, causing a loud enough sound.

Prangs….

Keisha woke up hearing the sound of objects falling to the floor. He looked at the Arfian who had woken up and was trying to grab the glass that was on the nightstand.

“Kak Fian.” Pekik Keisha's.

Keisha immediately rushed to the side of the Arfian bed and helped Arfian to retrieve the glass.

“Sister Fian, thirsty?” ask Keisha.

Arfian just nodded his head.

Keisha raised his bed so that Arfian would feel comfortable. Afterwards Keisha brought the straw to Arfian's lips to make it easier for him to drink.

After Arfian finished drinking, Keisha was about to lower her bed back so that Arfian could lie down comfortably. But Arfian's hands freed from the infusion hose prevented Keisha from returning to her bed position.

“Key...” Arfian called out in a soft voice.

“Don't talk first, Brother. Later Kak Fian's throat more pain when talking.”

Arfian shook his head.

“Pardon Brother Fian..” Arfian tried to say an apology he wanted to say since 10 years ago.

“To be apologetic for Brother Fian. Forgive Kei..Kei who was wrong, Kei who was too stubborn, Kei who was too childish..Pardon Kei, because Kei everything became a mess.” Tears began to seep from her net.

Arfian shook his head. His hand was trying to reach Keisha's face. Keisha's hand grabbed Arfian's hand and guided Arfian's hand to cupping his face. Keisha's cheeks felt the warmth of Arfian's hands.

Their eyes looked at each other like they were expressing a yearning that had been held back for 10 years. Their eyes spoke to each other revealing that they were yearning for each other.

Keisha could not stand it any longer, he scattering his arms around Arfian tightly and spilling his tears over Arfian's shoulders. By exerting all the energy he currently possessed, Arfian returned Keisha's embrace. They hugged each other for a long time as if they wanted to alleviate all the longings they had endured for 10 years.

At dawn, Keisha woke up and looked at the bed. He saw that Arfian was still asleep.

With silent steps, Keisha walked towards the bathroom to ablution. After completing the prayer, Keisha tried to wake Arfian up for prayer.

“Kak..Kak Fian..build Kak.” Keisha shakes Arfian's arm.

Arfian still hasn't woken up. Keisha held onto Arfian's forehead and felt the skin of Arfian's forehead very hot. Keisha tried to wake Arfian by gently shaking his arm.

“Kak...Kak Fian..Kak Fian wake up...” Keisha started sobbing.

Arfian remained silent.

Keisha panicked and immediately exited the room to call the guard nurse.

“Suster, please. Patient in room number 304, her body temperature is high and I try to wake up but not get up-wake.” Keisha recounts Arfian's unconscious condition to the caretaker.

“Mbak, the possibility of the patient fainting or unconsciousness due to his high body temperature. For a while it can be compressed with a body temperature lowering device.” The nurse explained Arfian's condition and gave him a compress.

“For more detailed examination, later will be done by doctor.”

After the nurse left the room, Keisha approached the Arfian bed and placed a compress on Arfian's forehead. Keisha also wiped Arfian's arms and hands with a wet towel hoping to help lower Arfian's high body temperature.

Keisha looked at the old Arfian's face. He saw a dark circle near his eyes. Arfian cheeks look a lot thinner than they were 10 years ago. Fine feathers began to appear on the pale face of Arfian sign that it had been a few days the owner of the face did not shave.

Tears began to trickle down Keisha's cheeks. Keisha caressed Arfian's face with affection.

At 7 a.m., a doctor walked into the Arfian's ward. The doctor examined the state of Arfian's body carefully.

“Possibly the patient fainted or was unconscious due to a body temperature so high that the body was dehydrated. I will give you new medicine and infusion.” Answer dr. Sparkling.

Dr. Gilang ordered the nurses who were by his side to replace the infusion pumpkin and inject the new medicine through the infusion tube.

“God willing after being given a new infusion, the patient's condition will improve soon.” Said dr. Sparkling.

Keisha clapped his head while saying thank you.

“Thank you, doc.”

Keisha took her cell phone to call her mother.

“Halo, Mah. When is Mom going to the hospital?” ask Keisha.

“Possibly later noon, Kei. Mom has a need first. What happened to Fian, Kei?” Arini asks Arfian's condition because she hears Keisha's sad tone of voice.

“Tadi shubuh Kak Fian passed out, Mah.” Answer Keisha

“Have been checked by doctor?” ask Arini worriedly.

“Already, Mah. Also the doctor gave me a new infusion. Hopefully his body temperature can drop. The doctor said dehydration. His body temperature was 40 degrees. Kei's worried, Mah. Now also Brother Fian is not aware.” Keisha recounts the current state of Arfian.

Momentary silence.

“Mah, please take Kei's change of clothes to the hospital. Just ask Mang Ujang to do between his clothes. Or if Mang Ujang can not deliver, ask anyone for help. Kei body was not very good from yesterday not change clothes.” Kei Pinta.

“Iya, later Mamah asked Jono to make between your clothes. You should also take care of your condition Kei. You also just came home and have not had time to rest. Don't forget to eat and take your vitamins. Later Mamah all leave breakfast for you to the Jono.” Arini also worried about the condition of Keisha who did not have time to rest after his return from abroad.
