Reasons Kenan Became a Doctor

21 Years ago...

In a simple brick-walled house with floors of raw cement, in a room two people were seen, middle-aged men and women were chatting with serious expressions on their faces.

"How's he doing, Doc?" ask the woman to the man who is known as a doctor based on the doctor's suit he wears.

"Hufh.." the doctor breathed heavily "Sorry Bu Ayu, for now I can't state it directly. The boy needs to be examined thoroughly."

Yes, the woman is none other than Ayudia. And where they are now is the house of Ayudia which since 3 years ago doubles as an orphanage named Al-Rahman.

While Ayu and the doctor chatted, their eyes kept on a little girl in her 10s lying weakly on a minimalist bed in the room. The little girl is known as Asmita.

"Hmm?" next to Ayu's eyebrows raised "Did the Doctor not have an initial diagnosis?" tanyanya's confused.

"There is, but." he answered hanging as if he did not want to continue.

"But, what Doc? Please say!" urged Ayu with a tone of voice as well as a sudden anxious expression.

"Hufh.." again the doctor breathed heavily "I'm not sure if my initial diagnosis was correct or not. I am just an ordinary person who does not escape from mistakes. I___"

"Sorry Doc, can you just tell me the point?" pinta Ayu sesopan may cut off the doctor's speech that is very rambling - tele.

For a moment the doctor fell silent and looked deeply into Ayu's face "According to my initial diagnosis, there was a tumor in the boy's brain. But, as I said, I'm just an ordinary human being who doesn't escape mistakes, it could have been my initial diagnosis was wrong. Seeing Ayu's determination that was really full, the doctor knew that he could not be tangled anymore. But little Kenan, easily understood the purpose of Ayu's speech which indirectly confirmed the information about the condition of Mita that he heard from the doctor's lips. Suddenly his body shook violently in Ayu's embrace. Without being able to speak, her cries broke with a choking sound. And Ayu hugged herself even tighter.

"Ehem..." the doctor cleared his throat after some time had passed, where Ayu tried to strengthen little Kenan "Excuse me Bu Ayu, am I now allowed to go home?" tanyanya politely intends to leave later.

Without releasing little Kenan from his embrace, Ayu, who was bowing, had to look up to meet the doctor. "Eh, please Doctor! Sorry for the inconvenience" he said, allowing condolences, a little unpleasant with the circumstances that are happening.

"It's okay Ms. Ayu." the doctor smiled kindly "Then, excuse me. Bu Ayu can pay for the examination fee earlier, later when you bring Nak Mita to be checked into the hospital."

"Okay Doctor Adnan, thank you very much." Ayu smiled kindly as well as mentioning the name of the doctor as indicated on the nametag on the right chest of his doctor's suit.

Adnan doctor passed away leaving Ayu who again tried to strengthen Kenan who still did not subside from his crying.

Long story short since that day, according to Ayu's advice, little Kenan is always on alert to be on the side of little Mita, looking after her like a sister even though they are the same age. Until one day, terbesit a desire and determination so great in the mind Kenan wants to become a doctor who can cure Mita someday see Mita's condition that never improves because Ayu who can not pay maximum medical costs.

4 Years later, where Kenan has been in High School (SMA), Kenan is no longer able to keep Mita on standby because he has to live independently leaving the orphanage. And when one weekend he visits the orphanage, Kenan finds that Mita has met her biological parents who automatically bring Mita to babysit him.

Kenan could not do anything - anything, although heavy and there was a sense of unwillingness to part with Mita who was right - he really considered as a sibling. He can only try to think positively that this is best for Mita. Especially from Ayu's explanation that says that Mita's parents are people who would be better if Mita was with them in order to get better treatment at a guaranteed cost.

Despite all that, Kenan did not undo his intention and determination to become a doctor at all. While hoping someday to be able to meet again with Mita in good condition - fine which of course will be better if it is cured of the disease.

Once again Kenan's heartbeat seemed to stop for a moment, finding Mita's response that seemed not to recognize herself as a small Kenan figure from 18 years ago.
