WHAT DO MY FRIENDS MEAN? I DON'T UNDERSTAND
***
"Come, Fia. Isn't that the guy from earlier?"
Syila asked, pointing towards the field.
"Dad, right. His name is Rei."
"So he told me his name,"
"Wait, is his name Rei?"
"Dad, Rei. He said it himself."
I answered him while pointing towards the field.
In addition, Syila now began to hold the brochure, and flipped through it, which she had ignored earlier.
I see, Syila's expression in reading the brochure was very serious. In fact, he is usually always relaxed in every circumstance.
"Hey, Fia. Rei's name is just one doang loh."
"And Rei is from your village, Fia."
"Dad right."
I gave a small nod.
"So, Fia knows where the house is?"
Syila now approached and looked directly at my face.
"Eng .. unfortunately not. I just met him this time."
"Well, thank goodness."
Uh, hang on. Why did he ask for his house? And why did he say thank God when I didn't know it? What the hell does this mean?
Never mind, I don't understand. Better, I watch the game.
I looked back towards the field.
All the players are ready to start the match.
The first game, the 200m Sprint run, is about to begin.
"Everyone, take a swing!"
All the participants began to run. Because this is a Sprint race, then what is used is the start or start squat.
And yes, all the participants now started to lower one of his knees and both of his hands to the ground, including Rei as well.
Rei was in the 2nd row with the number 002, wearing blue shirts and pants, including blue shoes as well.
It seems like she likes blue, I got a little laugh about it.
"All are ready ...."
"Ready ... PRITS!!!"
A loud whistle was heard from the puff of the court referee, and now the participants immediately left the starting line tight.
"Gilaa, Rei ran a lot."
Syila was amazed, with her eyes twinkling.
He was right, after leaving the starting line, Rei instantly became the front-runner, ahead of all his opponents.
The audience is starting to rumble now.
"Come Red! Follow number 2!"
And now, there began to be the cries of the audience, supporting their respective champions.
"Come on, beat the blue t-shirt!"
"Don't lose to the blue shirt!"
"Come on number 5, follow up!"
"Come Green! You can do it!"
Wait-wait, out of all the crowd shouts, did no one support Rei?
Where are Rei's supporters?
Prok-Prok-Prok!
I heard the sound of applause. But whose applause was that?
I don't think this voice is from the audience in the Tribune.
"Come on Rei!"
"Come on! Come on!"
Ah, it seems like it was the voice of Rei's backers. But where?
I looked for the source of the voice, glanced here and there.
My eyes were fixed to a small blue tent, with a long flag on the edge (the shape is like that, but I do not know what the name is) containing the writing of SMP Susukan village.
"Are you sure?"
"Well, is that a doang?"
I was shocked and could not believe this. I mean, Rei's supporters are very few, compared to the others.
I saw 3 men wearing the same shirt as Rei, giving support on the sidelines.
Hey, that's so sad, isn't it?
When we are fighting for something, but few people are supporting.
I know what I have to do. I have to support him.
I shouted in support of Rei, staying in a sitting position, while sticking both hands between the mouths, so that the sound I let out could be heard loud.
"Come Rei! You can do it!"
"Come Rei! You can do it!"
Eeeh? Whose voice was that? His voice is with me.
I glanced to my right, and was shocked to see Syila who was now standing, displaying a cheerful face and looking very excited.
I know she's always been cheerful, but this is so dazzling to me.
I mean, just this time I saw it like that.
Meanwhile, it seems like Syila knows what I think as well, about supporting Rei.
Ah, I can't lose, I have to stand up too.
"Come Rei!"
We both screamed so loud that it made my throat crackle.
But wait ... What is this feeling? I've never felt anything like this.
I felt happy and excited once this time.
Am I interested ... interested in Athletics?
I don't think so, I'm sure it's not that. But ... but what?
"And the winner is from SMP Susukan Village!"
"Rei, sequence number 002, the blue shirt runner!"
The commentator's voice messed with my daydream.
Besides, Syila who was standing next to me, is now getting excited, because Rei won the lomb.
"Yeeey!"
"Hurray!"
"Woooh!"
I guess, if there were 20 people like Syila who were present beside me to support Rei, maybe my ears would get hearing problems, because it was too loud and loud.
Oh yeah, I'll abbreviate the story of the details of the lomb. Since indeed the result from the beginning to the end was the same, Rei kept the victor, in all his branches.
***
"Congratulations to Rei!"
"Vote 1, even in every branch that is contested."
Now on the field, the organizers are presenting medals to the participants of champions 1, 2, and 3.
The 3rd place was won by SMPN Tirtayasa
The 2nd place was won by SMPN Pontang
And Champion 1, won by Rei, the representative of SMP Susukan village.
It was unbelievable, Rei could win all the branches he followed.
The spectators now began to leave the stadium, putting on a lethargic look, disappointed that the champion lost in each branch.
"Yeah, home!"
I stood up, took him home, because the game was over.
"Wait a minute, there's still one more show."
"What way?"
"Interpreter. I want to hear what he's gonna talk about."
"All right."
I sat back, listening to the interview session, fanning my face with the brochure.
Seen in the field arena, there is Rei and a person you can call a reporter, wearing a work uniform dominated by red, is giving a mic to Rei.
He received the mic, and began the interview session.
"Does Rei want to continue his schooling at SMAN Tirtayasa?"
"It doesn't seem to."
"Why not? It's not like you're going to get 'Students' through a track like this?"
"No, I'd rather continue my schooling at Susukan Village High School."
"Why? Isn't the school lacking facilities?"
"Because I want to introduce my village, to the many people out there, that there are actually a lot of outstanding students, but it is rarely known to people out there."
"Because of the cost factor as well, the school can not fully provide the facilities we want. I hope, with this, there will be many donors who help our school in Susukan village."
Suddenly, Syila poked me. I think he wants to say something.
"Dad, what's wrong?"
I see Syila's still focused on the field.
Then ... He looked at me, and said, "It seems like I want to continue my schooling at Susukan Village High School."
"Let's go there. The school is close to your house, right?"
I haven't been able to answer it yet, Syila even invited me now.
"Well, I'll tell my father. And if you don't agree, I'll force you."
I answered him without a second thought, because it has to do with my best friend.
Syila was my best friend. So, I don't want to disappoint him.
Maybe you can feel, if you get a friend as good as him.
I mean ... Syila always helps relieve my nervousness when meeting people I just know, let alone this in other people's villages.
He was the one who instilled a sense of courage in my heart, so that I was strong and could go to school and interact at Tirtayasa Junior High School, which I have been here for almost 3 years now.
But ... the interview session continued, and we both listened back to it.
"alright. Is there anything we want to say as a cover for this interview?"
"certain."
"To the principal, teachers, and guidance teachers of Susukan Village Junior High School Club, as well as my friends who have helped in every situation, I thank you."
"I can win all of its branches, and my friends in the Estafet race can win it because of your support and prayer."
"Including you two girls who were there ...."
Rei pointed towards the two of us, and it shocked me.
Syila then stood up, waving her hand, putting on a very cheerful face, with a big smile.
The smile that captivated the men in my Junior High School, now he put it on his face.
I waved my hand, too, but sat down. Unlike Syila who was so excited, to stand like that.
Rei continued.
"Dad, youguys. Thank you for supporting me."
"I wish I could remember your faces. Because I have a problem remembering the faces of people I just met."
"All right, that's all. Thank you." Thank you."
The interview session was over, and Syila took me home, leaving the stadium.
We went straight out, without waiting for Rei through the stadium gate.
I don't mean to wait for him. It's just, I'm still thinking about what he said earlier, 'Because I have trouble remembering the faces of people I just met'.
Was he forgetful, until he said that?
I got worried, if later he would forget the faces of the two of us, when we met (in continuing our education) at Susukan village High School later.
