Safarah 11

" Ma." I patted mom's shoulder.

Mama's a little surprised, "hasn't left for work?"

" Not yet."

" Well, what do you want? Ask for pocket money?"

" No, ma. Fatimah is sick."

" What pain? Where now?" Mama directly put the padlock (a tool like a large kettle used to water the plant).

" In the room."

Mama went straight into my room, found Fatimah who was looking down while twitching her forehead.

" What are you doing, nduk?"

" Dizziness, nausea ma." Reply Fatimah.

Mama's eyes twinkled, even now mama smiled happily. It's strange! His daughter-in-law is very happy.

" Nduk.. lest-don't..kamu ..."

Safarah raised her head, and,

" Nduk..later you get pregnant!"

Mom's words made Fatimah and I look at each other.

" Have you had a monthly guest?" Tanya mama interrogated her favorite daughter-in-law.

" Not yet."

" Hurry you guys check with the doctor.mama sure Fatimah must be pregnant.."

" Vir, you're on leave today. Inter Fatimah check with the obstetrician." Mom's orders.

" Come nduk! You're ready, let's take your husband."

Mama's happy face clearly cannot be covered, what you want seems to be granted by God.

Fatimah was ready, we immediately went to the nearest hospital.

It didn't take long for fifteen minutes.

We wait for the queue number. It turns out that many patients are waiting.

To throw away, I chose to play the phone.

" Mad." call Fatimah.

" Hmm?" I answered without seeing it.

" Are you happy if I'm pregnant?"

Fatimah's question instantly made me turn off the phone and keep it in my pocket.

" Why ask like that?" I asked Fatimah.

He pondered for a moment, "I see you're unhappy, mas." Reply Fatimah.

I grabbed Fatimah's hand, grasped it tightly.

" Don't conclude things that are uncertain. Are we not learning to understand each other? It all takes process, Fatimah." I hope my answer will calm him down.

While talking to Fatimah, a nurse wearing a mask passed in front of us. At first glance it was like I knew him.

The sister almost fell because of her gaze towards us.

From his eyes, his body shape was like a stranger. But... " It's impossible."

I'm dispelling my mind.

There is no way Safarah could work as a nurse.

Although I know he has a tattoo on the health section.

" Bapak Virhan and Fatimah's mother." call the nun in a quivering voice.

Whether my ears were broken, the voice of the nurse shook calling our names.

" Has the nurse not eaten yet?"

Uh. I'm pinching my temple, "where do you think Vir is?" My mind is busy babbling on its own.

We entered Doctor Faira's practice room, for a moment I glanced at the nurse who had almost fallen, reading the name attached to the right chest.

" IRA"

Her name is Sister Ara.

Ara.... Safarahs... Almost.

Almost similar. If there were no rules, I might have forcibly opened the mask belonging to Sister Ara.

The doctor performed an ultrasound on Fatimah's stomach. Somehow I focused more on Sister Ara who was standing next to Fatimah. I feel like I have an inner bond with her. Especially when our gaze met, Sister Ara's eyes were no stranger to me.

What's wrong with me? Why did Sister Ara attract my attention? Is it true that in front of me now Safarah?

We had arrived home, my mother was crying happily to welcome the good news delivered by her beloved daughter-in-law.

They hugged tightly. I don't know what I should express myself?

" Vir. mama's choice is never wrong."

Uh. Mama always offended Safarah.

" You're not happy Vir?"

" Happy, ma. I'm so happy."

The words that came out of my mouth, made Fatimah's lips attracted to smile.

" We should have a thanksgiving now." Mama's enthusiastic.

" Ma. Hangan was too grandiose, afraid that something bad might happen."

" I agree with Virhan, ma. Later if my content is big,"

I was glad to hear the words of wisdom coming out of Fatimah's mouth.

After a period of slump, I slowly began to rise. The divorce certificate is in my hands, which means I can't hope for Virhan.

The first thing I do is heal wounds, calm the mind. All I know right now is, I deserve to be happy.

Six months have gone by the farewell between me and Virhan.

After being confined in lonely shackles, with the supplies and izajah I had, I applied for a job as a nurse in a hospital.

I introduced my little nickname is ARA.

I like the name Ara, it's simpler than my life now.

My body shivered when I got a couple of married names I knew.

A couple who are happy over my suffering.

Virhan's husband's name and Fatimah's wife's name.

Questions ran through my head. Did Fatimah get pregnant?

I wear a mask when I meet two people I know. I also tried to change the tone of my voice, as I was about to call them in.

Sure enough .. when they came in. I knew him...

He's Virhan's the one I miss every night.

Several times our views met. Was he with his ex-wife? Does he still know me?

Like a bolt of lightning when the doctor said Fatimah was six weeks pregnant. They had just been married for six months. While with me, almost eight years married, but not given a baby.

This world is so naive. What covenant I had with God when I was about to be born into the world until the predestined trials of my life were truly endless.

I almost cried, still not willing Virhan could be so happy with Fatimah.

My eyes warmed when Virhan took Fatimah's hand in a friendly manner.

Why do we have to meet Virhan? If Allah wills our divorce, Virhan and I should not meet again.

I sat in front of the cafe, looking back at our meeting.

Nadia was sitting next to me, "is there a problem at work, mbak?"

" Nad.tadi met with Virhan and Fatimah."

" Seriously mbak?" Nadia's eyes widened in disbelief at the words that slid free from my mouth.

" Mas Virhan and Fatimah checked the contents."

" Fatimah's pregnant?"

I nodded, all that was left was a pain in the chest.

" It turned out to be barren Nad."

" Hus! Don't talk like that."

" After mom died tragically, papa cheated and his property ran out, then papa caught up with mama, mbak marriage that mama-in-law did not want, marriage that must end in divorce." My eyes glare, the shadow of the past twists again.

" What sins have you committed that the world feels cruel to you?"

Nadia could only remain silent without knowing how to respond to my curses.

" Patience is mbak..."
