RESIDUAL WAGES

RESIDUAL WAGES
Judis brought my Son

My chest feels tight because I can't get away from my Son. A cry accompanies my still-chaotic soul. I don't care anymore the Ship Passengers look at me strangely.

" Fool, fool, fool." I cursed myself.

Suddenly someone's hand touched my shoulder. I looked back slowly. My watery eyes instantly stopped to see who touched my shoulder.

" You why Via, who's stupid? Zaki and I were looking for you from earlier." Yudis looked at me in wonder.

I got up from my seat and stood before Judis. With a pushy look I took Zaki roughly from his sling. Zaki refused when he wanted me to carry him.

" Wherever you bring my Son, Do you know and understand my anxiety as a Mother. I would almost die if I got separated from my son." Emotion said.

Judis' astonished gaze now turned to guilt.

" I'm sorry Via, please forgive me. I didn't mean to separate you from your son. I don't deserve to be trusted. I'm a bad guy. I'm sorry, if I come to disturb the peace of your life." Judis slowly went out from before me. His footsteps were so heavy and his head lowered towards the top level of the ship. I did not flinch or utter a word or intercept Judis to leave. My anxiety has not disappeared from my memory. How did I run like a madman up and down the stairs. Ask Passengers one by one. In fact I almost jumped on the Fisherman's Boat to return to the Pier so I could see Judis and my Son in the Harbor parking lot. I'm like a man who lost his mind.

I don't stop pecking my Son's innocent face Zaki. I don't know if Judis really took my son away from me. Just imagine I can't.

" I, mi" Tangis Zaki wanted to suckle. I took Zaki up the stairs to breastfeed. My eyes were brushing the whole corner of the room. But Judis I see nowhere. Let it be, what I think of it for.

Quietly Zaki was so light while nursing and his eyes were now starting to shut. I felt so tired from looking for Zaki that my eyes also closed and fell asleep with Zaki while holding him in my lap.

The ship also tendered at the Pier sign Ship has arrived at the port of heaven. I was getting ready to go downstairs and find the position of the Bus I had been riding from Kampung. The driver was beside the bus and opened the door for the Passengers. One by one the Bus Passengers came in and sat on their benches. My eyes surround all the passengers who have fully occupied their benches. But there is only one empty bench that has not been occupied, the Bank of Judis. There was concern in my mind. I regretted scolding him without first asking where he was taking my Son.

The bus went to the Pier Toll but Yudis had not yet revealed his nose.

" Sir, the Man next to me hasn't boarded yet." My words showed me an empty bench beside me.

" It's not the Man the Mother's Husband." Ask the conductor.

" He's just My Friend Sir, we also happened to meet you here." Honest tidbits.

" Prosecutor, please come down and find the man to the Ship." Said The Driver.

" I'll help you find him." I offered myself.

Me and the conductor were looking for the whereabouts of Judis. I walked up to the stairs on the boat. But I couldn't find Judis there. When I began to despair and stepped down to the stairs. I saw the curly-haired head of Judis sitting at the end of the ship's body. I went up to him and held his shoulder.

" Hurry up on the bus. The driver is waiting for you." My speech.

Judis looked at me with dewy eyes. Seen from his face felt very sorry.

" Why do you bother looking for me Via, aren't you afraid that I'm bothering you?" He lowered his head.

" I'm sorry I accused you without asking. I got carried away with emotions because I was afraid of losing my son." I regret.

" You don't have to apologize Via, I know how you feel. As a Mother, you deserve to do that to me. You are a good Mother Via, and I envy your love and affection for your Son. Because I never got it from my mom." Sorrowed speech.

Judis got up and followed me. Up to the bottom, the Bus We were riding had gone far enough but We could still see the Bus Body. If I ran after that bus for sure I wouldn't be able to.

" You wait here, let me chase that bus to stop." Her speech.

Again Judis helped and sacrificed for me. With wide strides Judis ran very fast. I was surprised to see him running so fast. However, it seems that Judis lost at the speed of the bus. He came up to me with a stingy breath and Sweat paled all over his body.

" Huuuff, sorry Via. I lost fast." His words stinged.

" At least you've tried and tried." My speech.

" How do we sit there while waiting for another Ship to render. We can take the bus from another ship." His words took me to the place where people sell.

Without refusing, I followed him.

" If you don't mind, I can bring your Backpack." Said offering. Without hesitation I handed over my Backpack to Judis.

" Triple Rice." He ordered rice.

" Eat, let me treat you." Smiling words.

" Thank you, but I have money to pay for it." Refused.

" I'll be disappointed and distraught if you don't accept my treat." Pushy.

Judis bribed Zaki with great pain. Why is it that always the one who loves and cares for my Son is someone else and not his or her own Father.

" You know Via, I'd really like a Son. But baby, I'm not destined to have a wife." He said desperately.

" You're lucky to get a good husband and cute kids." Her speech.

" You will be luckier than me. Someday you'll find your soul mate." My words encouraged him without having to tell Aib my House.

" Hopefully" he said as he fed his mouthful of rice spoon.

My son Zaki after the Judis bribe he immediately walked to play at the location of the Food Seller. Zaki seems happy and enjoys playing with Judis.

" Mother's husband is very considerate, already handsome want also momongin Son. It's usually rare, Mom, there's a guy like Mom's husband." Said the Seller beside me sitting down.

" That man is not My Husband Ma'am, He is My Son's Omn." My words lied. If I were honest Judis was my Friend, then that Seller would have asked again and thought Judis was my girlfriend.

The ship from the direction of Tano was tendered at the dock. We prepared to wait in front looking for an empty bus to board.

Luckily the Bus We were riding There was still an empty one. But there is only one bench. Judis gave me a seat and was forced to stand at the bus door. I feel sorry for him having to stand until the Bus stops at the Terminal later. Hopefully one of the Passengers will stop at another village.

I was aghast when I saw the Passenger in front of me was My Sister-in-law Lisa along with a Man. Lisa fell asleep on the man's shoulder, and the man's hand was holding his waist. I wondered in my heart. From anywhere My Sister-in-law to be with a Man. Did Mas Surya and my Mother-in-law know about Lisa's departure.
