Repairing the Past

Repairing the Past
Chapter 21

Mo Yan returned to Lei Zuan's private house by jumping over some of the walls and roofs of the houses there. He walked silently through the corridor and headed to the room where the master had slept before.

His premonition became uncomfortable when he saw the candlelight back lit brightly in the room. He sped up and opened the door without knocking first.

And sure enough, the master was not in his bed. With a quick motion the man checked through the room but the woman with the charming smile was nowhere to be seen.

Mo Yan's footprints came to a halt when he stepped on a thin, clumped object with an irregular shape.

Yes, it was a paper with a short message. Mo Yan who had taken the paper quickly read the message written there.

Mo Yan's jaw hardened. Although trying to calm down with positive thoughts but his intuition said another. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He must control his emotions at this time.

After that calmness accumulated in his focus, his eagle eyes again sharpened and activated his predatory instincts. He ran out of the room with the door open, jumped over the walls of the house and landed on the ground smoothly.

He walked around the area very carefully. Although only with the help of moonlight but he was able to see a flash sourced from an object at the end of the road.

The agile man drew closer to the source of the light and was surprised when he realized that the object was a dagger that was always used by the master.

Mo Yan bowed and picked up the dagger. The anxiety again disturbed his heart. Many times he convinced himself that all his premonitions were wrong. There was no way the girl would leave her dagger lying around just like that.

The more he refused, the more anxiety haunted him. As if not enough with the findings of the dagger, now he was again surprised by the findings of blood spots that are still warm.

"Chu Yao's... "

Mo Yan's voice shook violently calling out the woman's name. The look on his face immediately darkened reconstructing the incident that the woman had experienced.

Anger and ruthlessness fused with constant on Mo Yan's stern face. The man won't soften his heart if he finds the people who hurt the girl.  He swore.

Mo Yan straightened up and kept the dagger behind his sleeve. He returned to the eighth prince's private house and found Lu Jin standing guard outside the room.

Highlight Lu Jin's eyes instantly sharpened in comparison to Mo Yan's gaze at him.

"The prince is asleep. Has something happened?" Lu Jin asked as Mo Yan walked over to her.

Mo Yan threw the paper squeeze containing the short message to Lu Jin and swiftly caught by the young man.

"Some have entered this place and ambushed my non. I won't come back until I find them. Tell that to the prince. " Mo Yan said without the slightest expression and turned his body around.

"Who are they?" Lu Jin again asked as he read the message in his hand.

Mo Yan's move came to a halt, "there is no one who has the opposite interest of the eighth prince other than the crown prince and empress, right?"

Lu Jin pursed his lips and nodded in agreement, "Is there anything else you want to say?"

"You'd better go back to the capital. The Alorra intruders are no longer in this town." Clearly Mo Yan.

He again continued as Lu Jin was about to interrupt the conversation, "don't ask where I know the information from! Just tell me what I told you!"

Mo Yan did not allow Lu Jin to pry information from him. He immediately jumped up and disappeared from the sight of the eighth prince's bodyguard. He ran along the roof of the house in quick and light movements. Looking for traces of the master's departure in the dark.

The next day, Chu Yao regained her senses when the sun had already greeted the horizon with a bright yellowish glow between the greenish leaves.

The sound of birds squealing from one branch to another has confirmed where his existence is now. He woke up in the middle of the forest. With three men dressed in black. Their faces were covered in black cloths and left only a sharp eye gaze.

Chu Yao automatically fixed her sitting position. He intentionally did nothing. For him, still alive, still breathing and sitting with complete body parts was already a fortune.

It's just that now he can't move freely. His hands and feet were tied with his mouth covered in cloth.

"Hey, the girl's awake." One of the thinnest of them exclaimed when he saw that Chu Yao was watching them.

His two friends looked over and seemed to have no interest whatsoever. They rested again by leaning their bodies against the big tree behind them.

"Leave it. He's not going anywhere. We better get some rest. Mumpung emissaries from the capital are still on their way." The other man muttered with a bigger stature.

"True, it's rare that we can rest like this. " Add the man who had a scar on his eye area.

The capital?

Chu Yao thought, her conjecture had floated automatically to the two suspects. Crown prince or empress.

"But sister, she needs to eat." Deny the skinny man to the man he calls brother.

"Had, just let him starve for one day. Wouldn't it be nice for him not to eat so he doesn't have the strength to fight us."

"real sister. Me and brother Li have almost lost strength. I think you're the same. So get some rest first."

The skinny man eventually went silent and followed the advice of his two brothers. He re-depleted himself not far from Chu Yao's current seat.

They don't care. They think the girl can't do anything about her condition.

But in fact not. Chu Yao did not lose her mind. He rubbed his palm many times on the bark to cause a considerable wound.

Chu Yao grimaced, enduring the pain of the fresh blood pouring out between her fingers. He deliberately died from the bloodstains there so that Mo Yan could trace his tracks.

Before long, there was the sound of the horse's footprints rubbing against the fast rhythm on the ground. Some people who were dressed the same as the previous three came towards them.

The three men woke up and woke up respectfully. The man with the frontmost position raised his hand, hinting something to the people behind him.

Two men descended simultaneously from his horse. They walked over to Chu Yao and pulled the girl's hand. They forced Chu Yao to stand with her legs still tied.

Unfortunately the girl's body even collapsed hitting the ground and ripping the skin of her white chin. Back, fresh blood flowed from that gaping skin.

Chu Yao cursed inwardly. The pain of the wound caused him to condemn the actions of the savages.

"Take off the leg!" Command the man with a hoarse voice who was in the front row.

The two men immediately followed the instructions deftly. Within seconds the bond had separated from Chu Yao's legs and only left a streak that formed a reddish bruise.

"Report sir. He was one of the people who was together with prince Long Ye Zuan. We caught him when he was at the prince's residence last night." A Peng replied who was none other than the man who had a scar next to his eye.

The man with a hoarse voice jumped down from his horse. He walked over and grabbed Chu Yao's face. The man's vicious grin was engraved real behind the black cloth on his face. If only Chu Yao's mouth was not blocked by the lump of cloth, it was certain that she would spit right on the man's face.

"It's a pity that this beautiful face must be a collision of power struggle interests. If you hadn't been anywhere near the eighth prince, you might have escaped in the crown prince's noble plan. And I could've made you my second wife."

Chu Yao felt her stomach churn as if she wanted to flush the man's face with her stomach acid vomit.

"Do you know your fate is truly tragic in this life? You will be made a scapegoat to trap the eighth prince. You'll be accused of being one of Alorra's intruders. And you're gonna die."

The man chuckled at the reaction of Chu Yao who pretended to be surprised, "really cassian. You didn't even know that young man was a prince."

Chu Yao did not budge at the man's words. Although those people thought he was just an ordinary civilian living in Nian city. Yang happened to be familiar with young master Lei Zuan and was staying at his private house yet there was a hint of worry arising in Chu Yao's heart.

It would be very runyam and dangerous if until their true identity is verified. He should be able to escape from those people.

"A Peng, take him to the crown prince's underground pavilion right now! We must complete another task from your highness. We'll meet back there." Said the hoarse-voiced man who was back on his horse.

"Ready!" A Peng and his two comrades cupped their hands and bowed respectfully.

The group of men with hoarse voices went to leave them.

Within a few minutes, Chu Yao was already on the horse with her body still tied together with the three people who had kidnapped her last night.

They flanked the horse that Chu Yao rode on from the front and back. So it was extremely impossible for Chu Yao to jolt the horse body to speed through, breaking through their guard.

Chu Yao could only clasp her palm and fingers that were still injured in order to become drops of blood that she could leave as a trace of clues for the personal bodyguard.

Within a few hours, they passed a road with a fairly steep cliff on his left side. The horse's speeding steps slowly began to slow down.

It was seen that Chu Yao's body movements were starting to unbalance. His face grew increasingly pale. Not only because he endured the pain of the injuries he suffered, he also felt weak from hunger.

With his remaining energy he again squeezed the wound in his hand. Blood again dripped onto the ground and it became the last blood that Chu Yao could make as a clue for Mo Yan.

His sight instantly became dark. His body fell from the horse and unexpectedly the horse's legs kicked his body until it fell into the cliff.

The three people above shouted with paled faces. Not for worrying about the situation of the girl under the cliff, but more afraid of the punishment they will receive for their negligence this time.

On the other hand, Mo Yan spurred the pace of his horse at high speed. Sometimes he stopped seeing the situation around him that he had been through. He meticulously noticed several different footprints of the horse.

It will take notice very seriously if the site appears deeper than the others. It could be that the horse is carrying more cargo.

If he did not miscalculate, it was likely that Chu Yao would be taken to the capital. Or maybe a secret place not far from the crown prince's palace.

He doesn't care. Just so as to find Chu Yao he would not mind breaking through the fortress of the crown prince or empress even if.

When the eagle-eyed young man was speeding, there was a sound of horse footsteps from a distance. He slowed down his horse's footsteps and searched for a hiding place far from the center of the sound.

He jumped up a large tree and waited silently for the crowd to pass under the tree.

Before long, those people came and unsuspectingly passed through the tree just like that. When the last black-clothed man was quite far away from the entourage, Mo Yan nimbly jumped up and pounced on the man until he fell off his horse.

The horse kept speeding away leaving the master in the grip of a foreign man with a high killing instinct.

"Don't act rashly! Just answer my question with a blink. If so, blink once. If it is wrong, blink twice. Understand!?" Mo Yan said when he managed to poke the nerves of the black-clothed man's martial will.

"Did you see a beautiful woman dressed as a man with pigtailed hair? " Task Mo Yan.

The black-clothed man did not move and simply stared at Mo Yan sharply. Mo Yan's anger ignited, he took out Chu Yao's dagger and scratched it into the man's calf to let out fresh blood.

Finally the black-clothed man winked once while enduring the pain in his gaping tandon leg muscles.

"How many people are with this woman? Two?" Mo Yan asked as he guessed and was reciprocated by two blinks by the black-clothed man.

"Three?" The man replied with a single blink.

"Are you the crown prince's men?"

The man stiffened instantly. There was doubt in his movement. Mo Yan realized, as a trained assassin and was sworn to always be loyal to his master, leaking the identity of the master was akin to treason.

The punishment is nothing but death.

But Mo Yan did not need to know. He did not care if the man would live or die as long as the information he could get to save the master.

He again stuck the tip of the dagger in the other calf. And this time, he not only made an incision but also twisted the dagger to cause the black-clothed man's leg tendon to look like a hole filled with red fluid flowing out.

"Java!" Mo Yan growled mercilessly in the slightest even though the eyes of the man in front of him had been flushed and teary from the excruciating pain.

The man finally blinked his eyes once. It is better to die than to be subjected to such cruel torture. He wanted to scream and express the pain he had obtained but was actually hindered by this foreign bastard's toto.

Mo Yan's eyes became more and more tapered, "was he injured?"

With a hint of fear, the black-clothed man winked once. Mo Yan's handsome face grew even darker. An intimidating aura encompassed both.

The grip on the dagger grew tighter and turned into a powerful grip. He's still holding back. There were still things he wanted to ask the man with the wound on his leg.

Mo Yan strangled the man's neck yet the strangulation had yet to cause death for him. Although it looks loose but the pain felt by the man in black clothes can not be hidden. Both of his eyebrows were furrowed with the corners of his watery eyes.

"Where did they take the girl?"  Mo Yan asked in a cold deep voice. His hands were clinging more and more tightly to the man's neck.

Mo Yan opened the sound nerve notch without releasing the other nerve tootokan. The helpless man took a disjointed breath. His slightly bloody lips quivered in an answer.

"The underground pavilion belongs to the crown prince."

That was the poor man's last word. Mo Yan shamelessly tightened his grip and easily broke the man's neck. Instantly the man died with his eyes still wide open.
