The Chapter 26 Poker Face

When the call of Claudi was still going on.

Hearing the sound of footsteps from outside the room, I immediately muffled the sound of my phone and hid it in a place that could record our conversation.

The sound of footsteps began to approach and as the man reached my doorstep, he politely greeted me.

"Greetings, Sister-in-law."

Since I could not contain this fiery anger, I accidentally insulted a man who was none other than Father's choice for Claudi.

"God."

Despite receiving a harsh word from me, she could still smile casually. As expected, this person was no ordinary man. He must be smart to use poker face and trick others.

"Aren't you cruel enough to me? Can't we solve this problem properly? I mean, there's some offers for you guys."

I pretended not to know what he said.

"You guys?"

Hearing my question, the man was surprised.

"Eh? Am I wrong? I thought you must be calling someone at this moment."

No, you're not wrong. It's just, I won't let you know what I'm hiding. I tried to trick the man and lead our conversation back to the topic he brought up.

Without a second thought, the man immediately explained the intent of his arrival.

"I want you to derail this marriage."

"Why?"

My cold gaze started to lead directly to him.

Even so, he remained relaxed and continued our conversation.

"We have the same goal."

"What do you mean?"

"I want to destroy your father, do you understand?"

Direct, firm and short. He said that with great confidence in front of me directly. I don't know if he's lying or not but, it never hurts to listen to further offers.

"Why are you saying that temporarily, the person planning this wedding is you two?"

"If I told you all this was because of an old grudge, would you believe it?"

"Silly and baseless, that's your statement."

He laughed and said, "That's how it is, but I'm serious about it."

His gaze began to change, like a hunter chasing his prey.

"No, you didn't even give me any information about yourself. Isn't an introduction a guarantee in making a mutual agreement with someone else?"

Hearing my insinuations, he introduced himself.

"I'm sorry for my impoliteness. Well then, let's introduce my name Felix D. Hertz. I'm the sister of Ren Gill's real father, I'm sure your sister must know my niece well."

The younger brother of Ren's real father? It's too late to find out everything but, I'm not sure what he's saying. I mean, I never found any genealogical information of the Ren family while investigating it.

You could say, there are people who mess up all their personal information. That's why he made me so interested in him. Whatever it was, I was always convinced that the boy had many secrets in his past.

I'm still trying to ascertain his identity.

"Then, where's Ren's real father?"

The man clenched his hands tightly enough.

Along with a strong gust of wind, the man's punch stopped right in front of my face.

"Why are you so sure about that?"

Without answering my thoughts, he handed me a recording camera with an earphone attached.

"Watch that video footage."

I watched it until the end.

When I heard the conversation, I somehow felt uncomfortable. Like, there was a huge conspiracy contained in their conversation. However, all of that is hindered by one man namely, Ren's father.

The people in the video are the leaders of 6 of the 7 big families on Asterisk island. The content of their conference was about monopolizing the entire country up to their government. In fact, they were also planning to massacre the entire Ren family members.

But, there's one thing that bothers me.

"Why did my father accept your proposal?"

"He was just a man blinded by power. It's easy for me to use false information and then deceive him."

The man thought for a while and then made an interesting offer.
