Chapter 43 - Dueling

"I will never forget that name .... I will never forget that face! The face of the jerk responsible for Mr. Reynald's disappearance" Gardieta said, squeezing his hands together.

Hearing that, Everest and Shina also put a sharp gaze towards Francois.

Prok, prok, prok, prok. Reynald suddenly clapped his hands with a big smile until his eyes could not be seen.

"Excellent, so cool! You are the descendant of a noble and the younger brother of that extremely great pirate?!" reynald said with "praise".

Francois who rarely get praise but always thirsty praise was immediately taken flying by Reynald's sentence. "Y-yes, I'm that guy. And now, I'm going to be a pirate greater than that guy!" Francois patted his chest proudly.

The rest of the crew nodded in agreement with his master. Meanwhile, Reynald's three subordinates were confused by their master's attitude.

"Oh, then you're a great person, aren't you?"

"Yes, of course! Can't you see this magnificent ship? And how did my ship's cannon fire destroy your ship?!"

"Oh, really! You are a great man!" Reynald nodded in agreement with his eyes closed.

Francois who saw Reynald's unique attitude, especially having an unusually strong subordinate was unthinkable to recruit Reynald. He grinned, feeling that he had seen gold in the eyes.

"Oi, do you want to join my crew? I'll give you whatever you want! Treasure, woman, throne? Just say! I, Francois Barbanegra will grant it!"

Hearing the invitation, Reynald put on a very happy face that seemed very tempted by Francois' offer. Shina glanced around, the Francois crew grinning with a sly glance.

"Well, you're absolutely amazing! Can I ask for one thing?"

Francois smiled proudly. "Tell me!"

"Tell your king that Reynald the Hero has been reborn."

Francois and his crew were confused for a moment. Then ....

"Bahaha!"

Laughter is broken. Francois and his crew laughed out loud. "Where's the hero? Ahhaha!" said one of the crew.

Reynald just smiled. However, his three subordinates were furious.

"Well, he's been dead a long time. Now the name has changed" replied Reynald.

"Oh, really? Ahahaha! Heroes can die!" said the other crew.

"Yes, and he will soon return to the human continent, Sievaria."

"Haha!"

Everyone's laughter suddenly stopped. A hand pierced the chest of one of the crew. The people who were laughing were trembling in fear. Everyone except Reynald and Shina looked in the same direction.

"You are completely ungrateful, yes .." said Gardieta pulled out a hand from the chest of the crew he stabbed.

The crew retreated slowly, away from Gardieta whose killing aura was like they were strangling them.

Sreea!

The ice crept rapidly on the floor of the ship, leaving the crew and Gardieta unable to move.

Francois slammed his face, looking towards Everest.

"Huh ...." Everest sighed with cold steam coming out of his mouth with both inner corners of the eyebrows meeting at one point.

Francois and his crew gulped. Cold sweat flowed profusely from the temples of their heads. Although they were scared to death, they could not escape.

That's when they realized that they had chosen the wrong opponent.

"What is it, Captain Francois Barbanegra, the younger brother of the greatest pirates of all time, Edward Barbanegra and Drake Barbanegra?"

Reynald's words made Francois who heard it goosebumps. He who was afraid, glued to look in front of him, towards the figure he had underestimated.

"Si-si-si-who are you?!" ask Francois.

Reynald drew his mouth closer to Francois's right ear.

"Just tell your king that his old friend has been reborn."

Francois fell down. His tailbone stomped the floor of the ship firmly. His face of shock could not be hidden.

"K-k-you .. couldn't be .... Se-se-should have you been dead long ...! Ba-ba-how ... how did you come back to life?!" francois said frustratedly unable to accept the reality.

Reynald smiled like a demon.

"Living back? No, no .... I was reborn" Reynald said with his index finger shaken to the right and left.

O-this person .. ji-if true it is "he" .. shouldn't it be long dead?! My own brother said it. Wait .. Inner Francois.

"idhaha ...." Francois suddenly laughed.

"HAHAHAHAHA! I just remembered! If that person is you .. then you can't use magic, can you?!"

Reynald clapped. "Then?"

"I challenge you to a duel. One on one. If I win, then your three subordinates will be my subordinates."

"If I win?"

"You won? Ahahaha! Don't dream! How can anyone who can't use magic win against me!"

The captain's confident speech made his subordinates regain their confidence. Their fear subsides. The lips that were originally trembling, were now able to smile arrogantly back.

"Don't dream of winning the Boss, Loser!"

"Yes! Even a thousand years of practice you will still lose!"

The crew started cheering Reynald. Their pride returned as if their fear had never happened.

When Gardieta and Everest wanted to punish the bastards again, Reynald raised his index finger, telling his two subordinates to remain calm.

"Well .. let's do it" said Reynald, still smiling.

Stupid fool! You can't possibly beat me! I am one of the best graduates of the magic academy, and you .. The person who can't use magic wants to defeat me?! Bah, don't joke.

Francois then glanced at Shina. His tongue moved down his upper lip.

That woman .. I can't wait to feel it tonight.

"Then, what kind of duel?"

"We fight to the death!"

"When's it started?"

Francois eyes moved in search of something that could be a sign of a fight starting. He then remembered a watch in his right pocket. A watch given by her brother, Edward, as a gift for her 10th birthday.

Francois took out his watch, opened the lid and showed it to Reynald.

"You see this watch? When the time shows eight o'clock exactly, our fight starts immediately."

Reynald nodded once.

"Hgm." Francois smiled disdainfully.

He then twisted his body, his robe deliberately fluttered to hit Reynald's face. All three of Reynald's subordinates who saw it immediately wanted to dart to kill Francois. However, Reynald again raised his left index finger, preventing his three subordinates from moving.

Reynald turned his body, walking towards Shina and Everest. Gardieta lifted her leg, out of the ice that froze her leg easily. The crew still could not get out.

"Hey, Loser! Tell your subordinates to melt this ice!" shouted one of the crew.

"Yes!" said the other crew.

Reynald did not answer.

"Hey, Loser! Are you listening to me?!"

Reynald still didn't answer. Francois who had since heard his subordinates shout, became annoyed. "Oi, Hero, can't you hear it? Are your ears now budg? Looks like your awakening failed, huh?"

Francois' insults made the crew laugh.

Reynald, whose face was no longer visible to anyone but his three subordinates, finally told Everest to remove the ice.

Everest raised his left hand forward. He then reabsorbed all the ice into his palm.

The crew, who had been able to move back, gathered together with the captain.

"Boss, are you really going to duel with him?" whispered the crew of the ship slowly.

"Don't you remember who I am? Don't you remember who I am?"

Francois' reply made the crew of his ship smile cunningly. Francois wiped his little knife. He opened a small bottle in his pocket. Then the liquid in the bottle, he coated it onto the surface of his small knife.

Time shows at 07:59.

Reynald walked still face to face with his three subordinates. While Francois was already facing Reynald and the others, grinning along with his crew.

Exactly when the time shows 08.00.

Francois immediately threw his small knife towards the back of Reynald's head.
