Chapter 23

Aarav took his foot out of his room. He went down the stairs and headed towards the dining table. There Aksara and Yuniar were sitting while enjoying their breakfast.

"Ma.. Aarav went straight to work. We'll have breakfast outside" said Aarav

"Yes, you are careful on the road, son" said Aksara

"But there's something you want to talk about first" Yuniar continued

"Aarav go first pa. ma.", said Aarav without regard to his mother's speech

Aarav stepped his foot away from that place

"Aarav!! Mama hasn't finished talking!", cried Yuniar

"Have left it" said her husband.

"This papa yes, always bear Aarav. Mama will talk about the engagement of Aarav and Nabila pa.", said Yuniar

"Ma. let Aarav make his choice. Mama don't push Aarav on. Papa see Aarav doesn't love Nabila at all. All because of your mother's wishes, right?", said Aksara

"When it's your best friend's child. She's beautiful, kind and well-educated Pa. They also know him for a long time. So easy to get along with, it's easier for them to get into a relationship" said Yuniar

"Whatever mama. But if Aarav doesn't want you don't push" Aksara said as he left his wife at the dinner table alone

Meanwhile, Aarav, who keeps daydreaming in his car, remembers the incident last night about the voice of the man on the phone.

He still wonders who the man is, if Angel has forgotten him just like that

A red light flashed and the driver stopped the car. It appears outside a motorbike stopped beside Aarav's car. Aarav turned to the side and saw the girl of his tribe was chatting with a man.

He was stunned to not believe if it was true that the girl had moved to another heart and just forgot about it.

When the green light turns on, the motorbike goes and followed by Aarav's car behind it.

Arriving in front of Aarav's office got out of his car. He looked around and did not see the girl there. He also put his foot into the building. As usual, everyone who saw him immediately greeted him. He looked around again but did not see the girl. He wondered who the girl was coming from.

Aarav stepped into the elevator and took the elevator. After the elevator doors closed, Angel and Dito entered the building. They also walked into their work space.

The elevator door opened and Aarav walked towards Devi's desk, her secretary. Devi who also just arrived greeted Aarav

"Good morning sir", Devi said.

"Devi.. do you know that in our office there are dating new staff?", asked Aarav to the points

Devi who heard his Boss' words also gawked in disbelief at his boss's question. He was amazed by the behavior of his boss since yesterday

"Sorry sir, but I don't know.." Answer Devi

Aarav who heard Devi's answer went straight to his room. Devi just looked at the departure of her boss with a confused look

"Sir Aarav why the hell? From yesterday it was weird. This is even wearing a dating staff. Yes, I know.", muttered Devi

During his time in his room Aarav really did not concentrate on work. Curiosity continues to engulf in his heart and mind. It felt like he wanted to meet the girl now and ask her directly.

He got up from his seat and put his feet out of his room.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Nabila entered Aarav's office. He saw Angel walking towards him.

"That was the girl at the time" muttered Nabila

He walked towards the girl

"Hey.", Sapa Nabila made the girl he greeted stop and look at her.

"You were the one who interrupted me at the time, right?", asked Nabila to make sure

"Yes, we'll see you again" replied Angel.

"You work here now??" asked Nabila

"Yes, I've only been in a few days. You alone? Must be meeting your girlfriend, huh?", asked Angel

Nabila nodded

"Yes, I want to invite him to make a engagement ring for us" said Nabila

"Well, congratulations.. O, yeah.. What part of the guy do you work on?", asked Angel

"He's..."

Nabila had not yet answered him, he saw Aarav who had walked towards them. The man walked in from behind Angel

"Oh, that's it.", said Nabila.

Aarav stops behind Angel

"Honey.know this girl who was nolongin me.", said Nabila.

Aarav was no less surprised to see Angel who was now standing in front of him.

Nabila walked towards Aarav and stood beside the man. He held the man's arm

"Known, this is my future fiancee. He's the Director of this company", said Nabila

Angel was made shocked by Nabila's remarks. He looked towards Aarav who also kept looking at him. His eyes began to glaze over but he held back his tears from falling.

Angel extended her hand

"Angel.", he said.

Aarav continued to stare fixedly at the girl's face and welcomed the girl's hand

"Aarav.", he said.

Angel removed his hand from Aarav's hand. Instantly his heart was broken to see the figure he had always longed for was now with another woman.

"It looks like I should get back to work. Excuse me first", Angel said

Angel walked quickly and left Aarav and Nabila. It felt like he could no longer hold back his tears that had dammed in his eyes.

"Hey wait..."

Nabila tried to call him but Angel did not pay attention to him. Her tears were pouring down her cheeks. His heart ached and his chest was so tight. He always wished he could see the man again, but he never expected to see him again when he was with another woman.

Angel pressed the elevator button and did not wait for long the elevator immediately opened and he entered it.

Aarav realized that the girl must be crying. He took Nabila's hand off his arm

"I still have a lot of work. You go home first, I'll see you later" Aarav said

"But we have to choose a ring for our engagement now" explains Nabila

Aarav did not heed the explanation from Nabila, he immediately went running towards the elevator regardless of the screams from Nabila. But the elevator door was closed. He ran up the stairs to chase the girl he loved.

While in the elevator, Angel kept shedding her tears. She had wiped her tears many times but her tears had dripped down her cheeks. Before long the elevator door opened, he wiped his tears again because he did not want anyone to see him crying. He also walked out of the elevator.

Suddenly Aarav emerged from the stairs and ran towards him.

He also felt surprised why the man appeared in front of him again, should not he have gone with his prospective fiancee earlier to choose a ring for their engagement.

Aarav stopped in front of Angel with a breath of breath. He knew the girl was crying. If indeed the girl had forgotten about him then why did she have to go and cry when she saw him with Nabila earlier.

Aarav grabs Angel's hand and pulls her back into the elevator. Aarav pressed the number button where the room was. The girl was so obedient and gave no rejection.

The elevator door opened, Aarav who was still holding the girl's hand pulled her back and took her into his study. He closed the door of his room and wanted to take the girl to the sofa in his study. The girl stopped her steps and made Aarav stop and turn to face her. Their eyes meet again

"Don't tell me you've known from the beginning" said the girl quietly

Aarav just nodded slowly. The girl closed her eyes and tears came back to her cheeks.

Aarav saw sadness on the girl's face. He pulled the girl by the hand and took her into his arms.

Now the girl was crying in her arms. He misses that girl very much. The girl he had been looking for was now in his arms. He did not want to let go of the girl again. He knew that she missed him as much as he did.

Aarav released his embrace and looked at the girl's bead of eyes. He cupped the girl's face and wiped the girl's tears with both hands.

"I'm looking for you. Why did you leave and never come back??" Said Aarav with teary eyes

Angel was still speechless, he removed the man's hands from his face.

"I used to feel inappropriate for you, and now I still do not deserve it?", Angel said

"Why do you think you're not worthy? Everything that happened was a misunderstanding. It's all just your friend's engineering", Aarav tries to convince Angel

"I know... But what happened just now, not engineering right?", Angel again shed tears as he remembered about Aarav and Nabila

Angel turned around and was about to leave Aarav, but the man hugged her from behind.

"Don't even think about getting away from me again" Aarav said

"Don't be like this, please treat me like a subordinate" Angel cried sobbing.

Aarav released his embrace and turned the girl's body so as to make their eyes meet again

"We're over... Please forget me", said Angel

Slowly Angel walked backwards while continuing to look into the man's eyes. He turned and ran away leaving the man. He opened the door of the room and came out, he closed the door again and leaned himself in front of the door, crying with restraint.

He wiped his tears and began to walk away from the place. He didn't want anyone to see him there.

Devi who had just arrived was confused to see Angel who had just come out of his boss room.The tumben-tumbenan his boss let employees in other than himself.
