Teasing Happiness
After driving Isabella to her campus, Grace deliberately turns her car towards Agatha's street. For some reason, it seemed like he wanted to visit the house again. Grace had visited her mother's house with Rizal when she wanted to take important documents for her marriage to Rizal.
When with Joe, Grace did rarely visit his mother's house, the reason is of course because she would be at odds with Agatha who strongly opposed her relationship with Joe. When blinded in love with Joe, whatever he does he always thinks is right. And whoever opposed it, he took it wrong, even though it was his own mother.
About fifty minutes later, after passing through the traffic jam of Jakarta, Grace reached her parents' house. Previously he had sent a message to Rizal about his sudden plan that suddenly wanted to stop by Agatha's house, so that Rizal did not worry when he did not meet her at his house when her husband arrived at the office.
Despite not asking Rizal for permission, she was actually convinced that her husband would not forbid her to go to Agatha's house, because Rizal always asked her to get close to Agatha. That was probably the most special thing from Rizal, because the man always told him to be patient and give in to Mama. Rizal did not provoke himself to stay away with Agatha, simply because Agatha did not approve of their marriage. That's the difference between Joe and Rizal. Rizal is more mature and of course because Rizal intends well on him, unlike Joe who has a scheming to him.
Grace parked her car in Agatha's spacious yard. He then removed the seat belt before finally getting out of the car and walking towards the terrace of the luxury house owned by Mama
" Non Grace?" Upon entering Agatha's mansion, Grace is greeted by Bi Sulis, one of the ARTs in Agatha's stately home.
" Askalabar, Bi. Mama's gone?" Grace turned her head towards Bi Sulis, she then asked her Mamah ART about Agatha's whereabouts right now.
" Waalaikumsalam, No. Mother is in the room, Non." said Bi Sulis a little surprised by the greeting Grace who uses the word Assalamualaikum. Usually Grace looks indifferent to him let alone say hello.
" Oh, yeah already. I'll go to Mama's room first, Bi." Grace then ran up the stairs to Agatha's room, while Bi Sulis was still staring at Grace's back which was getting further away from her sight.
" Non Grace now looks different. Cheerful and happy looking from the aura of his face. Is that because Non Grace is married, huh?" the Suman Bi Sulis.
When Grace came to the house with Rizal. Grace briefly introduced Rizal as her future husband to Bi Sulis. Bi Sulis was then surprised by Grace's confession which called Rizal as a prospective husband and said that if the employer's child was soon to be married.
Of course, Grace and Rizal's striking age difference had made Bi Sulis had time to think, 'Why did Non Grace choose a much older man?' Are there no more young men in this world who should choose a man who deserves to be Papa than Non Grace?' However, upon seeing Grace who was different from before, since Grace's arrival with Rizal at that time and Grace's re-emergence at this time, Bi Sulis began to understand, maybe it was the marriage with Rizal that changed Grace. Even Grace's way of speaking is very different. Sounds more polite and more subtle.
Meanwhile, arriving in front of Agatha's room. Grace knocked on the door before opening the door to her mother's room. Grace's thinking is growing. Room is a privacy area even though it's Mama's own room.
" Mam .." said Grace when she saw Agatha drying her hair with a hair dryer facing the mirror.
" Grace??" Agatha was aghast when she saw Grace in her room. She turned off and put a hair dryer in her hand on the dresser and turned her body to face Grace.
" What are you here for?" Agatha did not expect the arrival of her daughter in her house. He asks Grace silly questions about Grace's purpose in coming to her house. Though it is natural for a child to come to the home of his parents.
" why? Didn't Mama like me coming here?" grace asked her mother's question earlier. Isn't it normal for a child to come to visit his parents? Shouldn't a mother be happy to be visited by her daughter? Then, why should there be a question 'What are you here for?' The question was as if he had no right to set foot in his mother's house anymore.
" Am I not coming to this house anymore, Mom?" Grace even thought, maybe her mother had crossed her name from the list of heirs of her wealth. Although actually he was also not the one who gi la would treasure. She was not a woman who had ambitions to control all her parents' inheritance.
" Hmmm, t-not like that, Grace. Of course you can come to this house. This is Mama's house, your house too." Realizing that she had chosen the wrong word, Agatha immediately gave an explanation if she did not mean it as Grace had thought. Agatha felt that if she did not immediately provide clarification she was sure that her child would sulk and consider her a cruel mother, even though she loved Grace very much.
" Hmmm, where did you come by early in the morning, Grace?" Agatha was making small talk so that Grace would not be upset by her question earlier.
" Bella?" Agatha frowned, Agatha did not really understand Isabella's name. And he also had no idea if the person mentioned by Grace was the child of Rizal.
" My husband's son" Grace answered explaining the person she was referring to.
" You took Mr Rizal's son to college?" Agatha was surprised that Grace said she drove Rizal's son home to college, like the driver who drove his employer's son.
" Grace, you're not a private driver! You are the heir to Papa and Mama's estate! If you are interested you are already the CEO of Papa company. Why do you want to be Rizal's child driver!?" Agatha was furious because Grace was willing to become a driver to bring Rizal's son.
" That's what I do of my own volition, Mam! Not the Papih that asked!" Before Agatha accused him of being Rizal's device, as Rivaldi alleged, Grace immediately gave clarification. He did not want his mother to think badly of Rizal even though Rizal always tried to get closer to his mother back.
" You've been fucked by love, Grace!" Agatha again commented on Grace's attitude which she considered willing to sacrifice for Rizal to just take Isabella to campus.
" Mom, I told you, my husband didn't tell me! Papih forbids me . But I insisted on dropping off Bella in the meantime, until we found the right bodyguard for Bella!" Grace tries to give Agatha some understanding so as not to think badly of Rizal.
" Nah, this .. you are not aware, if you have been driven by your love, so you are willing to do anything related to him, he said, although not at her request directly, but you are willing to do it without any coercion at all Grace! You seem to devote yourself to him." Agatha still persisted with her opinion. Agatha is suspicious, if she loses Grace's attitude to Rizal because Rizal wants to take advantage of Grace.
" Mam, why do you always think negatively to Papih? Why do you always say bad things about Papih?" Grace shook her head in disbelief at Agatha's attitude because her mother always looked negatively towards Rizal.
" From my mother knows! That papih never once said bad about Mama. Papih always told me to give up on Mama. Always the same respect .Mama! Papih always told me to be nice to Mama. Inviting me to always visit Mama, even invite me to come at the event Mama yesterday in Bandung as a form of child support to her parents. But I refuse! Because I knew Mama wouldn't like to see me there with Papih." Grace wants to show Agatha if Agatha's assessment of Rizal is wrong.
" Papih never told me to hate Mama, but quite the opposite. Papih never told me to stay away from Mama, but instead told me to improve our relationship that has been strained. But, Mama always thought Papih was the guilty party just because Papih married me!" Grace is too emotionally defending her husband from continuing to be considered bad by Agatha.
" I sometimes wonder about my mom! Actually Mama is dear or not the same as me!?" Gcace questioned Agatha's affection for him. Because Agatha did not support her marriage at all with the chosen man whom she loved so much.
" What is Bo Doh's question, Grace!? Of course Mama loves you, because you're Mama's only son." Agatha answered Grace's doubts about her affection for her only daughter.
" If you love me, why don't you love to see me happy? Why do you always try to disturb my happiness, Mom!? My happiness is to be married to my husband, to be a good wife to my husband and to live in a household with my husband! That's the happiness I feel right now, Mom! Mama should have seen that!" Grace tried to open her eyes to understand and accept her decision.
