Episode 43
Dolla— Capit Machine

...~ Hiro Sato ~...
Hiro, Hiro!
Someone called. His voice was soft, it felt real, and it seemed like it was indeed coming from the real world. I slowly opened my eyes.
“Yuna?” I was a little surprised after my face and Yuna's face were really very close.
Since she felt my consciousness had returned, the girl slowly pulled herself back.
“Are you having any problems?” tanyakanya.
“Not too bad.” Even though the reality that had just crossed my mind was too heavy.
Yuna sighed. “Huft, I think, why ..” he said, while putting his palm on his chest. “Then, yuk, we go there.” The girl reached out her hand at the doll claw machine that was twinkling on the west side of where we were standing.
⠀
As the female attendant said, the game name of the doll's claw machine itself was Minnie.
The machine was wrapped in pink. In the section of each side of the roof that juts forward, we can see several dolls— with various sizes and models—beautiful which is hung in a plastic package. The owner of this place seems to be making it as a promotion that seems dramatic when the wind comes blowing and shaking the doll.
For the record, I hope Yuna doesn't really do that with her abilities, even though this obviously doesn't matter to her at all.
“How many more coins do we have?” I glanced at the small purple purse he always held, as all the coins were stored in it.
“Shortly, let me check.” Yuna unzipped the purse, then brought it closer to the face. “Hmm, I guess, hell ...”
“It?” Pretty freaky. How does he doubt, then? my thinking. The girl can count it.
After all we've played a lot of things here, and the remaining coins will definitely be less than he thought.
“Sisa four, I guess.” His face turned grim, it astonished me.
“Ke–why are you moody, Yuna?”
“Still playing again.”
“Who?” my many.
“Ya, i.”
“Take it easy. You still have four more chances, kan”
“Again.”
“You mean more than four?”
Slowly Yuna blushed, as if her innermost feelings were saying if playing longer in this place would definitely be a lot of fun. “Y–ya ...,” said slowly.
For that I stared at the watch attached to my wrist, then saw the clock that had shown at 16:39. As far as I know, the mall will be closed at eight o'clock at night, and there may still be plenty of opportunities for him to play around in this place. In addition, I can also relax, considering that Mr. Fujima is in his son's place until tomorrow.
I can think of this as my first vacation in town.
"Mall is still a long time closed, so take it easy,” I said.
“Means?”
“Let's buy more coins, yes?” I smiled, very wide.
“But this time use my money.” Yuna clenched her hands together, then she lifted them up on her chest, with a pouting face. I could see the red hue arising from her bubbling cheeks.
“Alright, it's up to you,” I replied while giggling. “I want to try first, can?” Maybe if I get an adorable doll from this machine, I can give her a double prize (the main one of those ticket exchanges ).
He will be very happy, I thought.
⠀
My optimism was thrown away. This was exhausting, boring, and terrifying, after learning that none of the claws had managed to catch one among the many puppets sitting inside.
Yuna had already added another forty coins (this made me a little suspicious. Did he buy that much after seeing the last amount of coins he told me? So he just needs to add one more zero digit behind him to make it look a lot, or maybe it's just my feeling ), but I've already spent half of it.
“Just relax, Hiro, no need to rush.” Yuna lowered her head beside me, looking up with a look and a smile like encouraging.
I nodded, then turned my eyes back to the cursed thing.
I took my breath slowly, then played the engine control button that could be rotated to all sides (for sure to control the speed of motion of the claw ).
As I thought calmly, I subconsciously recalled the things I had thought about a while ago.
The day was long gone, far enough, or rather this was the incident when we were in the alley, and the bag thief ambushed us from the disgusting garbage bin.
I feel like it was actually Yun who saved us. If the girl did not use her wind, the biggest possibility and strongest risk I would have to go through back then was to be stabbed by the thief. Why is he the one who thanks me? I even gave a gift I never expected. It feels hard to understand.
I'm still focused on the puppet candidate I want to clamp again. “Hei, Yuna,” call me.
“Ya?”
“Why are you thanking me?”
“Huh?”
“That time.” I explained, who knows if he forgot.
“About the thief in that alley?” Yuna was instantly sensitive after I said that.
“Yes, the thief,” I replied.
“Why?”
“Padah, you were the one who saved us at the end, and I just made it messier.”
Yuna suddenly frowned as she said, “Don't be so.”
“Huh?”
“We are alone who saved our lives at that time, Hiro, so that includes you.”
“Huh?” I kept thinking that Yuna who remained would eventually save us. That fact is inevitable, even if only an inch.
“Because I originally wanted to help both of us.” Yuna came to focus on seeing my claw machine that was moving back and forth no matter what. “But it turns out, you were the first one trying to do it, right?”
“Then?” That still sounds confusing to me.
“I took it as an effort; I saw your resistance clearly.”
“Usaha?”
“No need I say anymore, right, yes?” Yuna laughed while closing her mouth. Not long after he glanced back at me and said, “You tried hard to save us, because you were afraid something bad would happen. It was a good thing, and since I was one of the people you helped, so I'm entitled to say it.”
“So so, yes.”
“I'm honest, you know.” Yuna stuck her index finger on the glass of the dewy doll claw machine, like she was about to write something down. But suddenly he shut it down. “May I say it again, Hiro? Maybe this will sound a little strange.”
“What?” Suddenly my gaze reflexively faced his eyes again. This time it was really like being pulled.
“Thank you for saving me back then.” We looked at each other for a few seconds, and since this was not going to be good, I decided to look back at the doll I was looking for.
I was a little happy after knowing the truth. It turned out that he appreciated my efforts, and the painful joke he had conveyed when we were in the kitchen seemed to have now disappeared unceremoniously from my heart.
I'm grateful, I'm happy, I'm proud of myself for saving her with everything I have. If only I had just kept quiet and did nothing (wait for Yuna to finish), where would I have put my face? It would be so embarrassing.
However, one meaning of life that I get today is: humility is the main key to a harmonious relationship, be it in terms of family, friendship, or other related things.
There's much more I have to look for, and it's not just finished until now.
I didn't expect that day to come, but, if there was a chance for me to save him in the future, then I would definitely do it.
No matter how heavy the obstacles that get in the way, how terrible the trials that come, or whoever the person is; I will still make the determination to keep the girl smiling.
But, once again.
Please don't bring that day, God.
