35. The Unexpected Plan

Chapter 35

Unexpected Plans—

...~ Hiro Sato ~...

“And we will see one more miracle,” bright Yuna is her gaze still looking up to the ceiling of the restaurant.

Slowly the wind that— emerged from the hand of Yuna—pierce above there looks as if it blends into the roof of the restaurant. The winds seeped into it, and things like that again blurred my mind.

“Kok can, yes?” I muttered while gawking.

The middle of the restaurant roof that had fused with the previous wind over time turned transparent, but not a single piece of damage was done, as if the wind was camouflaging to change the color of the roof. The glittering sunlight from space began to pierce my eyes.

“Slare once.”

“This is so cool, keereen baangeet!” Yuna shouted as if she was proud of herself. Maybe, or it could be, this is one of the new abilities the girl learned in the storybook.

“This is what you got from the book, Yuna?” I asked while admiring what I saw. It's really real and fantastic.

“Ya, right!”

“Wah, crazy ...”

Up there was a brightly lit wall of space; a cluster of clouds moving and advancing at its rhythm; several eagles flying in the sky, even for a moment I could hear their faint screams. The light bias penetrating the restaurant ceiling made us look like we were inside a transparent submarine. ‘It blurs and also great’, I thought.

“How, you like?” Yuna suddenly stood in front of me with excitement.

“Of course!” I said without thinking long. “Maybe if you learn more from the original book, you might be useful, Yuna!”

“Purpose?” Yuna's brows then fused after I said this argument.

“Yes, I mean, you can cope with the ongoing global warming in our world; like a climate change kayak that refers to changes in temperature and weather patterns over a long period of time. This can happen naturally, but since the 1800s, human activity has been the main driver of climate change, especially with the burning of fos—“ fuel

“Enough, Hiro, enough.” Yuna clogged her ears with a pair of index fingers, as if it was overheating with my previous explanation.

Also true. In retrospect, this is clearly worse than my explanation of how to find a book quickly using the book-finding monitor provided by the library.

“Sorry, I'm just too excited.” I lowered my voice.

“But, Hiro ...,” Yuna pointed at that transparent roof sky using her index finger. Sometimes the visible ceiling turns myopic, but sometimes it comes back clear for a while. “... I do not want to be a tool.”

“Eh, what do you mean? I didn't say so.”

“When you say that I can be useful, that sentence is the same as saying that I am like a tool, right?”

When Yuna said that, it felt like someone had just thrown the ball into the goal, and I just happened to be the goalkeeper there. “It's true.” My voice came down again.

When I looked down, Yuna tried to peek at me and said, “But today is my birthday, you know.”

“Huh?” I pulled my head back, straight ahead. “Now?”

“Ya!” Suddenly more lines of sunlight began to appear and highlight the girl's face.

...*****...

After knowing that, I intend to take Yuna somewhere. Maybe it really isn't. This time I want to buy him—the stuff he likes best—something interesting.

“Hiro, where are we going?” ask Yuna.

“Reclaration.” When I saw the bus stop in front of the bus stop, I sped up my pace. “Quick, fast. We'll miss.” Impatiently, I unconsciously ran.

“Ih, wait ..!” I could hear the tired voice of Yuna chasing me behind. Think of it as ‘sports’ in the middle of a sharp stinging afternoon.

“Why rush, anyway? I cape so much!” yuna Protest. “We also have not eaten the porridge earlier, later if it is cold how?”

“Stay heated. No need to bother, right?”

“All food should be eaten when they are really still hot, so that the taste is not lost.” Yuna's words reminded me of what Mr. Fujima said; about early morning ramen that I never had time to spend trying to chase after this girl.

“Then we make it again.”

“Really?”

“Ya.”

Yuna raised both her hands up to chest level, like asking for an explanation. “But what about the ones we've made?”

“I can handle it,” I replied as I looked up out the glass.

“How?”

Since the girl kept talking and never stopped, then I slowly took my breath away. This is a good time to convince him.

“Later you will know, really, so be patient.” I stick my tongue forward to tease him.

For the fifth time, the bus has made a stop at a stop, precisely in the middle of a heavy traffic junction. Now I go down first, followed by Yuna who moves slowly.

As I stood next to the exit of the bus, I acted like a prince who would let his partner out of the carriage. “We have reached the princess!” sahutku while teasing him.

I could hear the sound of Yuna slowly walking down the short bus door steps, until she finally stepped back on the ground.

“Last-lately you've been pissing me off a lot, Hiro. I hope you have a good reason for this,” threatened, albeit with a lethargic look. “Eh, wait, here?” The girl then gasped, after seeing the building standing behind the stop where we were standing.

It was the eight-story Takeshi Mall that stood firm. Next to it, there is an automatic substation door where the lane of vehicles such as motorcycles and cars want to enter and exit the mall, not forgetting the special pedestrian street provided in the middle. I could see a lot of people had stepped into the shopping center, even though it was a work day.

“Don't say we're going in?” Yuna glanced at me, then the mall, again and again in turn.

...*****...

“Have you never been to the mall before, Yuna?” As I asked this, Yuna did not stop staring at the surroundings with a twinkling look. Even since we went inside, he had almost walked out on his own leaving me, as if I was an ancient inscription that had been completely ignored. “Hei, Yuna!” I had to, but I just patted her on the shoulder. But it worked.

“Hiro? What's up?” The girl turned back to me.

‘It turns out that since then he did not hear me at all,’ grumbled me in heart. “Have you never been to this place before?” I repeated my question, for the umpteenth time.

“Never.” Yuna laughed a little.

“Call it.”

“Why?”

“It seems like you are happy to be here, to the point that my words have absolutely nothing heard by you.” Although I smiled, but I actually just protested to him.

“I'm sorry then, Hiro.” Yuna clenched her chest while sighing. “Soalya, this is indeed the first time for me to come here.”
