«You've learned Wind Blade»
Wind Knife
Rank: Mortal
Mastery Level: 1
Description: Call for wind blades that can attack enemies from a distance. Requires at least 500 Qi to activate.
"Yes! I finally learned it!" Angel exclaimed in excitement after seeing the notice, feeling relieved that she did not need to waste any more time on it.
"How much time is left in this room?" Angel turned to look at the timer beside the door.
"10 minutes?!" His eyes widened in surprise after seeing that he took nearly 10 hours to learn a single Mortal-rank technique.
"I really can't compare to Brother Yusri who can learn techniques as easily as breathing," he let out a loud sigh.
After storing the Wind Blade technique into his storage bag, Angel went out to knock on Yusri's door, but to his surprise, he was already outside and waiting for him.
"My brother... When did you get out? I didn't make you wait too long, did I?" he asked her.
"No, we just got out" he said with a smile.
"However, how did it go? Can you learn the technique?"
"No!" Angel nodded with a bright smile. "I barely managed to learn it in those 10 hours!"
"Congratulations, Angel," said Yusri.
"I'm nothing compared to you, brother." Angel shook her head.
"That's not true" he said.
"You don't have to try and comfort me, brother. I have known very well about the difference between our talents for many years now—this is not new." Angel said, and he continued, "After all, now that I have learned a new technique, I want to use it, so let's go hunt some monsters!"
Yusri nodded, "Okay, where do you want to go?"
"Wherever one has a low-level monster, preferably one around the first level up to the second-level Spirit Apprenticeship," he said.
"There are many ferocious beasts under the third level Spirit Apprentice a few miles from this city," Melia said.
"Great! Then let's go!" Angel says.
They proceeded to walk downstairs and return the keys to the receptionist before leaving the building.
Once they were outside, Yusri took his flying sword and jumped on it with Angel in his arms.
Moments later, they soared toward the sky and flew for a few minutes until they were several miles away from Nature City.
"There are some first-rate spirit apprentice beasts below us," Melia said to them.
"Oh! I want to fight them!" Angel says.
Melia nodded, and they descended to the ground a moment later.
"Where is that?" Angel asked after they landed.
"200 meters in that direction." Melia pointed to the south.
"okay!"
Angel proceeded to walk towards it with wide strides, clearly impatient to try out her new skill.
"Slow, Angel. The monsters are not going anywhere," Yusri said to him with a smile after seeing his excitement.
Moments later, Angel was finally able to see the monster; it was a slightly oversized fox with orange fur and red eyes.
"That's a Red-Eyed Fox. They are agile but weak. If you don't hit him with your first attack, you won't have a second chance because it will escape" Melia said in a low voice.
Angel nodded and took his Spirit Waver.
After taking a deep breath, he gathered his spiritual energy before waving his fan a moment later.
"Wind Blade!"
A wind arc that resembled a long-range sword attack suddenly flew from the Spirit Waver and onto the Red-eyed Fox.
However, as this was the first time Angel used her skills and Spirit Waver, her goal was far from the target, losing the Red-eyed fox with a long shot.
Bang out!
Wind Blade made a strange turn in the air before flying into the tree and smashing it easily.
When the Red-Eyed Fox saw this, it immediately turned around and fled.
"Wow... It was no wonder why this skill cost so much despite being a Mortal rank technique! It's so strong!" Angel's eyes flickered with excitement after seeing the destructive power of the skill.
And he continued, "If it doesn't hit the target, it doesn't matter even if the technique is the strongest in the world."
"I know, but it's actually very difficult to control this skill." Angel took a breath.
"Unless you are Brother Yusri, one will usually need hours of training before they can use the newly learned techniques properly."
"Even if I have to practice for hundreds of hours, I will perfect the skills that my brother bought me!" Angel said with a stern expression on her face.
Some time later, they continue to hunt down low-level monsters with Melia giving directions and Angel trying her best to reach her target.
An hour and countless drills later, Angel finally managed to hit his target with Wind Blade, brutally cutting the monster in half as it had done to the tree before.
"Lives... Isn't this technique like... a little too powerful?" Angel realized this after she witnessed how the monster almost exploded into a bloody mess.
"Isn't it a good thing that the technique is powerful?" Yusri tilted his head, not understanding his defeat.
"I mean, of course, but it's a little too brutal for my taste." Angel took a breath. How could an elegant young lady like her use such a savage technique? It would definitely ruin his graceful image!
"Then do you want a new technique?" Yusri asked him.
"No, this is okay. It may be a brutal technique, but I don't like it. I just need to get used to the scene of my opponent being torn apart by skill." Angel says.
"After all, let's continue hunting monsters. The only way I can get better with this skill is by using it over and over again! Therefore— to the next monster, Melia!" Angel pointed in a random direction with her fan with a deep expression on her face.
"OK..." Melia nodded.
And for the next few hours, until it was time for dinner, Angel would hunt monsters continuously using her Wind Knife while Melia carried her around the wilderness.
As for Yusri, he just followed them in silence. However, it was not as if he was completely relaxed, as he still had to make sure that there was no harm in coming to Angel, so every time they approached the monsters, it would be a good idea, he will mentally prepare himself just in case he needs to come in and protect Angel.
"Brother, I've hunted so many monsters, yet not a single one of them dropped a single monster core, why is that?" Angel asked him at the end of their adventure.
"It's because only monsters above the seventh level Spirit Apprentice drop them," he replied. "Am I right, Melia?" he asked her just in case.
"Right," he nodded.
"Seventh level Spirit Apprentice, huh? That's a long way..." Angel took a breath.
"Anyway, I'm going out now to cook dinner, brother. You can play a little longer until dinner's ready if you want."
"No, it's okay. After all, there was nothing I could do in this area in such a short amount of time."
"Then I'll meet you on the other side" Angel told him before heading out.
"See you tomorrow, Melia."
"Un. Goodbye, Brother Yusri." Melia said to him before disappearing into the necklace.
Yusri also came out shortly afterwards.
Once he was in the real world again and Angel went to prepare dinner, Yusri started trying to cultivate again, hoping that he would get better results once his understanding of cultivation techniques improved.
"... Ouch!"
Yusri tries to cultivate many times without any progress until Angel returns with her food.
"Are you okay, brother? I just heard you screaming in pain..." Angel said to him in a worried voice.
"Hm? Oh, it's nothing." Yusri said, not ready to tell him about trying to cultivate in the real world—at least not until he confirms that it really works and he not only goes crazy.
"If you feel pain in your body, don't hesitate to tell me, okay?" Angel said to him afterwards.
"Don't worry, I won't do it" Yusri said.
"good. Anyway, I have some news. Doctor Wang will come later, and he says that he has some results regarding the black impurities being expelled from your body."
"OK," said Yusri.
"Let's fill your stomach before he arrives" Angel said as she began feeding him chicken soup.
Sometime later, Doctor Wang arrives at their home, and Angel greets him with Yusri in a wheelchair.
"Have you had the results, Doctor Wang? It was faster than I expected" Angel told him.
"Well, I worked non-stop most of the day to get the results as soon as possible, and you won't believe what I found out from the examination," Dr. Wang said.
"Whatis that? Is that something we should be worried about?" Angel asked with a nervous expression.
"Actually, it should be the opposite! According to the results, black dirt is actually dirt! Although I don't know how it happened, it seems that Young Master has managed to expel the impurities within his body."
"Dirty...?" Angel raised her eyebrows. What does that mean?
"Sit down, Young Miss. It will take some time to explain," Doctor Wang told her.
Angel nodded, and she went to take a chair before sitting down and waiting for Doctor Wang to continue.
