CHAPTER 3 | Initial Plan

At first we looked at each other and then threw away our eyes, and then again until he finally offered me to taste the dishes on the show.

“Have eaten? I haven't eaten.” He tried to open up the chat to throw off the awkwardness between us.

“Trus?” At that time I really did not understand the meaning of asking me that question. Does that mean he's asking me to eat together or just telling me he's hungry.

“Yaaa .. If you haven't eaten, let's eat together. But if you've eaten, I can—”

“Oh, I haven't eaten yet,” I said interrupting her words.

He immediately took me down a buffet table in one corner of this room. There it is clearly written that the dish is specifically for VVIP guests or the bride's family only. As soon as I pulled his clothes, it was more like a batik shirt on his back, because I was walking right behind him.

“Why?” tanyanya turned her head while stopping her footsteps.

“This special VVIP same family.” I whispered and showed where the paper was.

Reza turned to the paper, then turned to me again and said, “I'm his family and you ‘kan his VVIP guests. Wasn't I asked to look after you here?”

Plaque!

I patted him on the shoulder and replied, “Not taking care of me, but keeping me company. After all since when did I become a VVIP guest?” I scrunched my forehead.

Reza again stepped forward to the table that provided plates, spoons and forks and he immediately took the white rice from the container. For a moment I was silent, trying to digest the answer just now and then stepping towards him. Do the same with him, take rice, side dishes and vegetables served.

An empty table in the back row was clearly visible to me, perfect for me and Reza eating our food. He looked at me and gave me the code to go to the table I was referring to. We're thinking. Quickly, our footsteps went straight to the table, placed the plate there, and we immediately sat down.

It all happened so fast and I don't know what made me and Reza get late in a conversation at that time. Laugh together, ask questions and tell each other stories. Everything just flows, like a leaf that falls to the surface of the river water, dissolves slowly to the estuary.

The estuary that I thought would look beautiful, but in fact even looks not in accordance with the belief.

The memory of the initial flashback of our meeting made my breath instantly congested. Many times I tried again to breathe cool air on the balcony of my room this morning, and the result was nil. My breath was still wheezing, like a marathon runner who had run thousands of kilos of meters and had not found the finish line. Lost in the forest.

It's true, yes, I was running. Trying to escape the fact that our closeness had to end tragically. It should have been me who decided to step down first, go away from him when I found out about him who was in fact still in touch with his lover who I thought was his ex.

I think he's just like me. Taking the same decision I made with Angga, ended a fractured relationship. But it didn't. He just used me as a saturation filler in his relationship with his girlfriend. Which in the end made the relationship stronger with his lover, until he asked to part with me. He prefers his girlfriend.

Again I asked, why should I say part ways, if from where I did not know? Why not just go missing? Stay away from my life and don't mind me anymore.

Maybe it will be easier, for me ...
