Rishna
He was my best friend since I was a kid, our house was close by. We were the same age, so both at home and school we were always together. Our parents worked together in a sugar factory, we lived in housing provided to employees of a sugar factory.
After graduating high school, Risna and I were separated. We graduated at a different university. Moreover, my father had retired from the sugar factory, then we moved to the house that my father built in the next village. It makes it harder for me and Risna to just meet.
As the only daughter, Risna is very dear and spoiled by her parents and brother. Risna was born as the youngest child and the only woman out of 3 children.
So it's only natural that Risna never touched housework, especially cooking. Everything was done by Mother and Mother Sih, a housekeeper at her home.
Risna is now married and has 3 children.2 women and 1 man. Risna's husband serves in Papua and returns home every 3 months.
Vienna, the first daughter of Risna, has been 4th semester at one of the city's top public universities. While Ratri, his second daughter, was only in 2nd grade SMK. His youngest son, Radit was still in 2nd grade Junior High.
Risna herself was a teacher at one of the vocational schools. As a mother, Risna used to take her children and always accompany them everywhere.
Risna and I met again at my youngest son's school, which turned out to be one school with the youngest son Risna. Since then we have started to meet again
Since marriage, Risna has learned to do all the household chores, except cooking. Until now, Risna can only cook rice (even using a rice cooker), water, noodles and eggs.
When her children were young, Risna used the services of a housekeeper. Since her first daughter began to be able to be given responsibility, she no longer uses the services of a household assistant.
"The time is now difficult to find a housekeeper who really suits our wishes. There is a course of action, if not going out, yes ask for a holiday. Though the work has not been done" he confided when I asked the reason not to look for a housekeeper.
This afternoon, Risna visited my house. Actually I invited him, I happen to cook a lot, I want to share my cooking, and take him to lunch.
"Taste you good, Ma" Risna said after finishing her meal.
"Alhamdulillah"
"What is this vegetable called?" Ask Risna
"Clear sediments"
"Clear seductive?"
"Yes"
"New to this"
"What brand of condiment cake?"
"Well?!"
"You cook, what brand's the season? Where's buy?" ask Rishna again
Some time digesting Risna's question, I finally understood her point.
"The spice I made myself"
"Disrupt anyway?! So yummy... What is the roof?
I mentioned one by one the seasonings for the clear vegetables we had eaten, and how to process them.
"Easy turns out to be yes" muttered Risna while nodding her head.
"Who's cooking at home?" Ask carefully
"When there was an assistant, there was an assistant who cooked. If there is no now. Most just cook rice, instant noodles and eggs"
Huh
"So all this time just eat that?"
"No, I usually buy food."
"Have you ever cooked a vegetable or something?" I ask you more and more curious
"Bright now, cook vegetable soup, vegetable asem, fried rice, chicken opor, too. Usually I use concoction seasoning, jd stay onion stir-fry, enter vegetables, add in the spice concoction. Cheap, a pack of 2000. Easy and not bothered, it also tastes good" he explained at length while smiling proudly.
"The rich bakwan corn, I often make at home. Young corn in shavings, give eggs the same flour seasoning, mix and then fry. So deh" he continued again while chewing cornbasket.
I immediately pulled my head....
