Chapter 31 - Seeking the Truth

Sky walked out to where Mera was, the woman looked so enthusiastic when she found Sky approaching her. "Honey, you must miss me ’kan? You know from the beginning I always admired the beauty of your athletic body! Are you really not going to let me satisfy you?"

"Couple your things! My wife is sick of seeing you, and so am I!"

"You can do it? Don't you remember the first time you came to town you always tailed me even I often bought you food!"

"Oh so? You want some money? I can send it! Is five billion enough?"

"I don't want money, I want you. If I can't get you, then no one can!

Sister Elisha, please come out!"

"Fuck up!" Sky walked then suffocated Mera tightly, the woman was almost out of breath due to Sky's powerful exertion.

"Sir what did you do to Mera?" Elisha appeared suddenly from behind Sky, it made Sky release his trap on Elisha and Mera who was frightened immediately ran behind Elisha.

"Sister, I'm scared. I just wanted to be honest about your Master's motive for marrying you but you saw for yourself that he really intended to kill me!"

"Shut your mouth, motherfucker!" exclaim Sky.

"Mr Sky! Can you shut up, seeing you humiliate such a horrible woman maybe I should think twice about giving you a second chance!"

Mera was grinning behind Elisha, while Sky could only grit his teeth. This is how it feels to not be trusted by the people he loves. "Elisa, my wife don't listen to this cheap woman! I don't even have any relationship with him."

"So, you and I have never done anything. This is all done just to make you suffer!"

Elisha furrowed his brows in confusion.

"Master has such a deep grudge against the Michigan family, he married you seizing all your family's assets, trapping Skandar. It's all for the sake of avenging your family!"

"Mera! I'm gonna kill you!"

"If you want to kill him, kill me first!" Elisha protected Mera and stood in front of her. "If Mera's words lie, maybe you won't be this angry. But seeing you trying so hard to silence Mera I feel sure that this is the truth.

And Mera, you better go. I will settle this matter with Mr. Sky myself. Your business just got here!"

Mera grinned then left the two without a word. Elisha looked increasingly at Sky coldly, let alone what actually happened he was not even able to digest all the problems that had been coming. "Elis," Sky's remark was cut off as Elisha immediately left her to go to the room.

"Elisa, listen to me!"

"If all your actions were based on revenge, maybe I could understand it, maybe I'll understand why you hate me so much and try to make my life hell. But, what makes you hate my family?" Elisha stared intently at Sky, he walked over and raised his index finger right on the face of the man before him.

"I'll avenge it on you! But believe me, whatever it is now I no longer think about it. All I want is to live happily with you forever!"

"What kind of empty "mong is that? I just want to know the truth!"

"Elisa, since childhood my parents lived in poverty. My father loved drowning me in the pond and my mother loved watching it." Sky's opening line made Elisha tremble. Are there really such cruel parents?

"After their deaths, my sister Ara and I lived together. Until one day, the Michigan family gave me a job as their cattle manager."

Elisha carefully listened to Sky who was now beginning to bring Elisha to sit on his bed while he rested below. "I only live with my little sister Arabella, she is a very jolly, beautiful and full of positive energy. Until then, he became so moody and also sad. I was worried, and found out that he had been harassed after coming home from your family residence!"

"NOT POSSIBLE!" answer Elisha.

"Do you think I made up a story about my sister? You may not believe it, but never assume I'm lying to you! Do you still want to hear the rest?"

"The next day, the poor man tried to go to town to get money to take his brother for treatment. However, after returning from the city I saw Ara had ended her own life and when I wanted to meet your family there was no one at home. Everything's been blurred without accountability."

Elisha was still in disbelief, there was no way his core family would do such a despicable deed. "Have you investigated it? What date did it happen do you remember?"

"It was about twenty-six March, twenty-five years ago. Afterwards, I held this unrequited grudge for decades until I met Skandar who turned out to be part of the Michigan family!"

"You set him up until we're broke? That's how you mean?"

Sky nodded slowly.

"Mr Sky, I remember it seems like I have my father's daily records, only they are in the village. If you want to know the truth, we can look for it together!" Elisha touched Sky's hand gently.

"Elisa, I've decided to forget it! I just want to live with you from the beginning!"

"Can't! I'm sure there was a misunderstanding, I'm sure my father or my nuclear family wouldn't do such a thing. Although Skandar is also a jerk, but I believe in him it is impossible for such a small child to do such a despicable deed!"

Sky closed his eyes and nodded slowly. "All right, I'm following you. Please help me figure out the truth!"

"I will definitely help you, but taking out your fine on this weak me isn't it too much?"

"I know, I'm willing you've hated your whole life. I want you to treat me as badly as I treated you, Elisha. Just so you're happy and can forgive me."

Elisha grunted softly. "If I did, wouldn't I be as cruel as you? Never mind, you better rest. But don't see me until we know the truth!"

Elisha walked over and headed towards the window of the room. He ignored Sky who was still struggling there, Sky knew this was indeed deserved. Elisha was still so good, by giving him a chance and willing to help him find the truth about it.

"Alright, I'll keep my distance until this truth is revealed. You also rest comfortably, I don't want to because of this problem you get sick again!"

"Of course, thank you Mr. Sky!" elisha said without looking at her.

Sky walked out of the room, he rushed out to Uncle Sam's house to calm down. Fifteen minutes later, he went straight to his uncle in the workshop, Sky took out a pack of cigarettes and a classic match.

"What else is it?" ask Uncle.

"Elisa," Sky's words stopped.

"Hm I understand, it must be hard for him to forgive you!"

"He knows about my revenge mission! The Mera nette leaked it!"

Uncle Sam stood up and walked over to Sky. "No need to be upset, after all sooner or later it will still be known by your wife. You also can not cover it forever from him, if you want to live in peace you have to make peace with a family that makes your hatred so great. The key lies with Elisha, as long as he can prove his family's innocence then your life will surely be smooth in the future!"

"But what if my suspicions are correct? That Elisha's family was harassing my sister, how did he accept it? He will definitely blame himself ’kan uncle? I'm just scared of the truth."

Uncle Sam nodded. "True I understand, so will Elisha he be afraid if your suspicions are right. Because there's nothing more painful than being betrayed by the person he trusts so much: his family!"
