Dissociative Amnesia

Hearing Hana's words suddenly made the entire room surprised, never expecting if Hana left a strange problem in her body.

"Until now you don't want me?" Abi asked with a trembling voice after a moment of silence overcame his shock.

"Not at all, sorry!" Hana said lowered her face, she was also sad when she saw the look of the face full of sadness of the husband.

"Why don't you ever tell me you forgot about me, about us?" Abi really felt a tightness in his chest knowing the reality that existed.

"I didn't intentionally tell anyone, I hoped that sooner or later my memory of you, of us would return. It turns out that until this moment I can't remember anything!" Hana's words started to sob.

"But why am I the only one you can't remember, honey?" Abi asked.

"I don't know, I'm confused too!" Hana looked at her husband's face.

"We better talk to Dr. Leonard, he's definitely more understanding about Hana's condition like this!" Rendra's proposal is embraced by all.

Not long after, Leonard also came after Rendra contacted him and told about the condition of his son-in-law.

"Good morning, sorry if I'm a little long come. So how's Hana doing?" Sapa Leonard friendly.

"I'm good Doc, it's just like Papa told me earlier if I can't remember my husband at all!" Hana answered, glancing towards Abi.

"But Hana knew that Mas Abi was Hana's husband?" Ask Leonard.

That's why I know Mas Abi is my husband, but I can't remember a single bit about the togetherness of me as Mas Abi!" Hana Sontan's answer made the whole family sad, especially when Hana pinned a new call to Abi, making everyone sure if there is indeed a problem with Hana's memory.

"So far what has Hana felt with Mas Abi again, I mean if Hana is close to Mas Abi?" Ask Leonard again.

"Hana is comfortable in Mas Abi's decette, but along with the comfort of Hana's heart like pain Doc, kayak tightness, as if there was fear as if Mas Abi would hug Hana!" Hana answered honestly with a face that looks nervous, while Leonard nodded his head a sign that he had understood the condition that was happening to Hana.

"It's so Hana went home delayed first yes, I want to do some tests and follow-up checks for Hana, so we know why Hana just forgot the same Mas Abi. Is it okay, Hana?" Leonard's question was full of gentleness.

Hana had seen one by one family members who were gathering, including Abi. And when everyone nodded in agreement with Doctor Leonard's proposal, Hana nodded in agreement.

"Yes, now Hana is taking her medicine. It's breakfast, right?" Hana nodded as Leonard asked her.

"You already, taken the medicine continues to rest Hana yes. The doctor borrowed Hana's husband for a minute!" Leonard's permission again was replied by a nod by Hana.

"Mas Abi, please come to my room for a moment! I'll ask the nurse for Hana's medical record first!" Leonard's orders were taken by Abi.

After Leonard's death, Abi approached Hana to deliver the medicine the nurse had prepared.

"Now take the medicine first yes continue to rest, I met Doctor Leonard first!" Abi thrust the medicine and the glass at Hana.

"Why should I apologize?" Abi asked confusedly.

"Mas Abi must be very sad, right, if I can't remember about Mas Abi at all?" Lirih Hana again full of regrets.

"That's okay, the important thing is that you stay by my side until you start thinking about me, about us!" Abi replied, peeping at the top of his wife's head.

Arriving in Leonard's room, Abi who had been sitting in the chair opposite Leonard had waited a while in silence, because Leonard was seen to concentrate once reading Hana's medical record file.

"It looks like Hana's having Dissociative Amnesia!" Leonard started a conversation between the two of them.

"Dissociative Amnesia? What is Doc?" Abi asked completely cluelessly.

"Dissociative amnesia is a type of dissociative disorder that involves an inability to remember important personal information that most people rarely forget. Dissociative disorders are mental illnesses that involve disturbances in memory, consciousness, identity, and or perception!" Leonard tries to explain it as simply as possible so that Abi can understand.

"So that means Doc?" But Leonard's explanation just makes Abi more confused.

"So in other words, Dissociative Amnesia experienced by Hana is Hana blocking certain information that here means Hana blocking yourself and the memories that occur between yourself and Hana. Usually because something has happened that triggers trauma or stress. And here most likely the physical violence that Mas Abi had committed against Hana made Hana experience this Dissociative Amnesia, because his subconscious is suppressing or blocking memories of you because the physical violence he's been through is traumatizing him!" Abi squeezes her hair quite roughly listening to Leonard's explanation.

"What is his memory of me going back Doc?" Abi asked with a sad look full of regret.

"The blocked memory can reappear on its own or after being triggered something that reminds Hana of the incident that Hana experienced!" Answer Leonard.

"During this dissociative amnesia, what are we gonna do Doc?" Abi really condemned the actions he had done to his wife to make his wife continue to experience pain.

"We will conduct an evaluation by conducting a complete medical history and physical examination!".

"Physical inspection Doc?" Abi asked, because so far Hana was seen to have no physical damage except for her beautiful skin that has been engraved so many lines of lash marks that he did.

"While there is no specific test to diagnose amnesia, we will do some tests such as electroencephalograms (EEGs), neuroimaging, or blood tests. These tests work to rule out the possibility of neurological disease or other diseases and the side effects of drugs as the cause of dissociative amnesia symptoms!" Leonard.
