My Husband is a Paralyzed Man

My Husband is a Paralyzed Man
Chapter 21: You Must Plead to Me

After making small talk, they got into the car.

James drives the car while Chase, Sophie, and Eve sit in the back seat.

It was so quiet in the car that people had to breathe very carefully.

Sophie secretly sees Ben, who is still standing at the back door of the university, from the rearview mirror. "James, honestly no problem leaving him alone there?"

James was calmly driving his car. "It's okay. Ben has his own transport. Madam, you don't have to worry."

"All right." Sophie nodded. He then turned to peek at Chase, who was leaning against the leather seat to his left. He didn't know if he was asleep or not. He then turned to look at Eve, who was to his right and was silent like a mouse.

After batting her eyes and putting a face on Sophie, Eve took out a piece of paper and pen from her bag.

She then wrote something on the paper quickly before handing it over to Sophie.

With a frown, he took over and read it. Eve had written something on the paper in an indecipherable handwriting. [Didn't you say that your husband was just blind? Can't he talk either?]

Sophie shuddered a little. Unknowingly, he turned to look at Chase, who was beside him.

He was still leaning on the chair with his previous posture, and he was motionless.

He took a deep breath before he took the pen and wrote Eve's answer. [He's certainly not stupid! He can talk!]

[Then why didn't he say anything?]

With a frown, Sophie looked at the words Eve had written on the paper.

"really. Why hasn't he said anything? '.

Ever since Ben pushed him to the back door of the university until now, it seemed like he had said nothing.

She bit her lips and tried her best to think about it. After which, he sighed and wrote, [He may be angry.]

[What makes him angry?]

[He may think that he has married a burden.]

When Chase married her, it might not even have occurred to him that his family would be so complicated.

Not only does she have this kind of aunt asking for money as financial help from her uncle outside her grandmother's ward, she even has a shameless cousin like Chester.

[Load?]

Eve was very confused considering the word Sophie used.

[The rich don't like troublesome people. My relatives are very troublesome.]

Sophie took a deep breath. Suddenly, he felt the pen in his hand rather heavy.

After a while, he wrote down the worst thoughts he had right now on paper. [She may be planning to divorce me now.]

The imagination of women is endless.

The man whose eyes were covered in a piece of black silk was leaning against the seat. He shook his head in a vaguely visible manner, revealing a small smile.

Soon the car arrived at the intersection near Eve's house.

"I'll get off in front."

After telling James about it, Eve patted Sophie's shoulder gently. "Don't imagine the worst of this."

After she left, Sophie leaned against the chair alone and saw the sight flying past the window in a trance.

"Don't imagine the worst of this. '.

Not that he imagined the worst, but it was really that bad.

"Did your cousin treat you all this time?"

As he was still in a daze, he suddenly heard the deep but gentle voice of the man.

She's stunned. When he turned around, he saw her still maintaining her previous posture and leaned there with a tinge of consideration about something at the corner of her lips.

He pursed his lips. "I'm thinking about what to eat for dinner."

A cold smile appeared on his face. "Have you decided?"

He was confused, and he just wanted to finish dealing with her. "Not yet."

"Then, let's go out and eat. Incidentally, I want to change my diet today."

Therefore, he spoke calmly to James, who was driving, "Go to Apex Greenery."

James was a little confused. "Sir, are you sure?"

"Yes, that's it."

The conversation between the master and the servant greatly confused Sophie.

They will obviously come out to eat. Why did they make it sound as if they were going to join forces with someone else?

He even asked Ben to prepare.

After half an hour, when Sophie had reached the so-called Apex Greenery with Chase, only she knew the reason why James would have such a reaction before.

The so-called Apex Greenery is not the name for a restaurant, but it is the roof of a hotel.

There were over thirty floors in the hotel, and neither tall nor short. It is almost right for one to enjoy the night view of Ayrith City.

Roof safety measures are excellent, and roofs are magnificently decorated as well. There was only one table there.

James pushed Chase to the table and sat down in front of him. Sophie was also sitting opposite him.

The waiter approached them. "Mr Moore, the dishes are the same, right?"

"As usual."

The waiter nodded and left.

Soon, there was a wide variety of delicious food served on the table that Sophie had never seen before.

He looked curious when he saw the food. Seeing that, Chase said lightly, "Let's eat."

Sophie nodded. He then took the chopsticks to start eating.

He had not had lunch because of the incident that happened early in the morning at his grandmother's place, and he was now starving after a full day.

Just as he was about to finish eating, he suddenly thought of something. He looked up at Chase. "Where's Ben?"

"Didn't he ask Ben to make preparations? '.

"Why is Ben invisible? '

Standing to the side, James looked at the time. "He's late. He'll probably be here any minute."

Sophie responded lightly, and she didn't think too much about it either. He then lowered his head to continue eating food.

He thought Ben would be there any minute. Unexpectedly, he did not come alone.

The young man in white sports clothes climbed the stairs slowly, and he dragged the long iron chain in his hand.

A man's hand was locked tightly with the other side of the iron chain.

The man behind Ben was covered in blood, and he could no longer stand up, bending on the ground weakly. His pants were worn to pieces, and even his bloody skin and flesh could be seen.

With a clatter, Sophie dropped her chopsticks to the ground.

The scene before him shocked him so much that he was speechless.

The man in front of him elegantly and nimbly took another set of chopsticks and put them in his hand. "Are you full?"

In a daze, Sophie held the chopsticks. He had no way of taking his eyes off the man behind Ben.

"Racquet." Ben pulled the iron chain violently, and the man behind him fell forward noisily.

Only then did Sophie clearly see the face of the man who was being dragged by Ben.

He felt as if he had been struck by lightning.

"The chester!"

"Sophie!"

Chester look up. Blood still flowed from the wound on his head to his face. She looked at Sophie, and her voice was hoarse. "I know I was wrong. From now on, I will definitely not bother you.

"I beg of you. Please let me go..."

Sophie gritted her teeth tightly. For a moment, he actually did not know if he should beg for mercy on behalf of Chester.

On the one hand, he hates Chester. She was so fed up with all the things Chester had done to her during those years.

On the other hand, he was the grandson of his grandmother and the nephew of his uncle. Could it be that he really did not want to save her?

"You shouldn't have begged him."

The man sitting in the wheelchair extended his large, slender hand to hold his chopsticks. Slowly, he ate celery with a lily bulb in front of him. "I sent someone to teach you a lesson, and I also asked someone to bring you here.

"He can't control my mind, much less decide your life and death."
