My Husband is a Paralyzed Man

My Husband is a Paralyzed Man
Chapter 17: You Can't Offend Me

James got out of the car and took out a wheelchair. He then helps Chase get into a wheelchair.

"Let's go."

Sitting in a wheelchair, the man slightly turned around and smiled at her. "You'll lead the way."

With complicated feelings, Sophie takes Chase to the hospital.

They entered the hospital in silence and passed through the lobby.

When they got into the elevator, he finally could not hold himself back anymore and tilted his head to look at it. "Senior Moore says you're a person who doesn't like noise and liveliness, and you don't like connecting with strangers. Why do you insist on coming to see my grandmother?"

When he had not really met her, he could sense that she was a cold person.

After she met him, she felt that he was not only cold, but also arrogant and aloof.

He is certainly not the type of man who likes to talk about trivial family matters with relatives.

"That's because I'm curious."

"About what?"

The man turned around, looking at his tiny body through black silk. "What kind of family can raise a silly fool like you?"

Sophie speechless.

"Of ordinary families." He pursed his lips. "Wait, that's not the point. The main point is I'm not silly!"

Leaning on the wheelchair, the man chuckled evasively. "You're quibbling."

Sophie had no interest in arguing with him, so she nervously looked at the changing number in the elevator with a very complicated feeling.

In a way, she was really worried about her grandmother's safety.

On the other hand, he was also worried about the whereabouts of his other two aunts.

With a ding, they finally reached the fifteenth floor.

"It's a good hospital! It takes a lot of money for a day, right? Ken, where'd you get so much money?"

As the elevator doors opened, a sharp female voice sounded.

"Sister, it's not the time to talk about this now. They saved Mom in there."

"Don't talk about Mom first. Where did you get so much money?! Nor is it cheap to save her this time, right? It should cost a few thousand dollars, right? We can buy nine thousand square feet of land in our village with a few thousand dollars..."

"Fuckin' thick! We are very poor! Why do you have so much money? Let's treat the old lady's illness casually. He was old, and his illness could not be treated. Let's keep the money and share it among ourselves..."

Sophie had just gotten out of the elevator when she heard her aunt talking about money matters with her uncle, and the veins on her forehead twitched.

"Sisters, I really don't have any money right now. Even if I have money, it's also money to treat a mother's illness!"

Sandwiched between his two sisters, Ken Simmons is filled with impatience. "They tried to save Mom there and her life situation was uncertain. However, you are still saying such things right now!"

"Regardless of that, he is old, and he will be gone one day. We who are alive must live a good life."

"really. I'm sure you don't want to see us living a bad life in the village when he's in heaven. Don't waste all the money on him..."

Hannah Simmons and Phoebe Simmons say one after another, and they almost go and look for Ken to see how much money he has with him.

As she exited the elevator, Sophie clenched her hands tightly. He immediately rushed over and stood before Ken. "Aunt Hannah, Aunt Phoebe, they're still trying to save Grandma right now. Can you say something like that on the doorstep?!"

Hannah looked at Sophie, and a sarcastic smile flashed across her face. "People from the Simmons family are talking. When is it your turn to cut because you're just an outsider?"

Sophie gritted her teeth. He looked up and glared harshly at the two evil and unkind middle-aged women in front of him. "Even if I'm not Simmons, I also have a sense of priority. I knew that I would definitely save Grandma as long as there was hope! You two are worse than outsiders! "

Phoebe laughing. "Your words are no fun. It's actually not up to you to come up with an opinion here considering the people from the Simmons family are talking. Who do you think you are? Have you ever spent a penny on that old lady? Isn't that all Simmons' money?

"It's so easy for you to talk. Ken, you said the old woman's hospitalization fee wasn't your money. Got who?"

"It's mine."

As Hannah and Phoebe argue with Sophie and her uncle with menacing, cold, deep male voices cut through.

The people from the Simmons family were astonished. At the same time, they looked towards that voice.

They saw a sturdy middle-aged man pushing a young man. The man sitting in a wheelchair was wearing a very beautiful suit, and his eyes were covered with a piece of black silk.

The man's face was angular and deep, and although his eyes were closed, others could feel his noble, aloof, proud aura.

Sitting in a wheelchair, it was the same as if he was sitting on a throne. His entire body was filled with an oppressive aura. People must have glanced at him out of fear and trepidation.

When everyone was shocked, James had already pushed Chase to them.

Chase took a small glance at Sophie's face that had become red from her wrath. He then pulled out a wet tissue. "Lap your face."

"Thank you." Sophie picked it up awkwardly and lightly wiped her face.

The cold touch of the wet wipes calmed him greatly.

"Who are you?!" After a moment of silence, Phoebe finally turned around and glared at Chase with an angry raised eyebrow. "The people of the Simmons family are talking. Does it have anything to do with you?"

"As the daughter-in-law of the Simmons family, I certainly have the right to ask her when you speak."

He revealed a cold and proud smile. "Sophie, why don't you introduce me?"

Sophie finally spoke up to introduce him.

"Aunt Hannah, Aunt Phoebe, this is Chase Moore, my husband."

After he said that, he timidly glanced at Ken. ,"You've met him before."

Ken nodded. "Yes. Mr. Moore, we meet again."

Her voice was respectful, but as she turned around, she glared at Sophie harshly. He blamed her by saying her words to him. "Don't you think that's messy enough? Why did you bring him here?"

Sophie pursed her lips in complaint and said nothing.

The others did not see the motion between Ken and his nephew, but Chase saw it clearly.

He showed a soft smile that was faintly visible.

"Eh, Sophie's husband?" Phoebe crossed her arms across her chest and coldly assessed the man sitting in a wheelchair before her. "When is Sophie getting married? She even married a disabled person? What does it mean that his eyes are covered by such a thing? Could he be blind?"

While talking, he approached Chase. He was about to take off the silk in Chase's eyes.

However, his hand had only reached halfway when it was kicked to the side by James with a locomotive kick.

Phoebe did not even manage to scream in pain, and she was already captured by James.

"Sir, what am I supposed to do with this guy?"

James was no longer what he used to be, like someone who used to smile. At that moment, he did not look at all like a middle-aged driver, but rather like a trained special forces soldier.

"Let him go," Chase smirked faintly, and his voice was cold and indifferent. "I hope these two aunts can listen to me carefully. I paid Grandma's medical expenses. Simmons has no right to make a decision. It was because it was money for Sophie to show her respect to her grandmother. Even though I'm a cripple, you can't offend me. "
