CHAPTER 28: The Invitation of Matrimony

I fell silent a lot, my head just kept talking about myself which seemed to be nothing compared to aunt Ira. What kind of changes I have to make to change my appearance to what I look like. I really insecurely saw her this time, was it because I was worrying about my relationship with Beby? All their stale forms are almost inaudible to my ears, my mind is being noisy at the moment.

"Lia... Lia... What are you daydreaming about?" Aunt Ira's voice woke me up from my long daydream.

I gasped and realized that I was staring at the glass with the cold juice in my hand. I looked around and saw Rendy and Anita looking at me.

"I'm fine." I nodded and smiled at them all.

"Lia's mother has just recovered and is very understanding, maybe Lia is also a must for the task of taking care of mother, taking care of home and college assignments. Is that right Lia?" Said Anita who to me sounded like, 'Lia's life is indeed heavy'.

"Lia, we're here." Rendy woke me up from my daydream on her bike.

"Lia... I-i'm..." Actually I heard Rendy yelling my name, but I was lazy to talk to her so I just rushed inside the house.

I'm still very upset with Rendy, why did she take me to meet Anita and her mom earlier? What does Rendy think, with me hearing the matchmaking plan between Beby and his ex-wife will make me realize, that my chances with Beby will get smaller?! Does Rendy think me and Beby have nothing to do anymore?

There's a phone coming in from my and Beby's special phones. I saw my phone screen, it was Rendy who called.

"Hello." I picked up the phone from Rendy.

"Lia, are you angry? I'm sorry, yeah..." Rendy's voice was weakening.

"What's your fault?" I wanted to draw answers from him.

"Without asking you, I asked you to meet Anita earlier." The right answer.

"Even if you think we have a relationship, I don't like you to act the way you like. This time I'm sorry, but next time don't repeat. Yes, I'm lazy to talk to you." I sniffed and turned off the phone.

Right after I hung up from Rendy, my other phone rang. I saw a message from Anita there, and I read it.

'Lia, the show's the day after tomorrow. Right on my mama's birthday.' Anita wrote that in her message.

It felt like I was eager to reply with, 'I don't care' but it's impossible. I am reluctant to answer the message, I better go to bed because my mind is tired today.
